Virgin River is based on the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr. The first season commenced on Netflix in December, 2019. The same month the series was renewed for a 10-episode second season which was last November. I believed the hype and got through all 20 episodes in no time.
Before I started the series was renewed for a 10-episode third season. With its hype and popularity this could be a long running easy breezy Netflix drama.
Starring Kiwi hero Martin Henderson alongside Alexandra Breckenridge, Tim Matheson and Annette O'Toole.
Virgin River follows Melinda "Mel" Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), who answers an ad to work as a midwife/nurse in the remote Northern California town of Virgin River. Mel thinks it will be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind.
Soon Mel discovers that small-town living isn't quite as simple as she expected. She must learn to heal herself before she can truly make Virgin River her home.
If it's sounds a little like rural Grey's Anatomy or another Shonda storyline, you are right. However if you need some light fluff in your 2021, Virgin River might just be the right show for you.
