Winter be Bingeing 26' - Dalliance - Season One

More Australian drama, yes please. Following the Airport Chaplin, last week, this week, its Dalliance, on Paramount+.

The series focuses on Billy and Rose and their group of friends, who think they have life all figured out in their 60s, but they are forced to rethink all that when it is not what they expected. All six episodes landed late last week, with me concluding the sixth episode last night.

When their friend dies, mourning his loss the friend group finds their lives are much more than what the world would want them to feel.

Starring an all star cast including, Hugo Weaving as Billy Brennan, Heather Mitchell as Dani, David Wenham as Gary, Ryan Panizza as Dylan, Georgie Parker as Rose Brennan, Wayne Blair as Luke, Carolyn Bock as Adele, Catherine McClements as Sarah, Russell Dykstra as Rex, Kate Winter as Emma & John Doyle as James.

It's an all star cast with Heather Mitchell returning to Paramount+, following her excellent appearance in Brisbane based drama, Two Years Later.

I strongly believe this will be back for a second season. It literally just ends with so many loose ends. It is a good replacement for former Ten drama, Five Bedrooms. It's been called a spiritual sequel to Secret Life of Us, and with good reviews (and likely Logie wins next year) this could be announced as a returning Paramount+ feature in 2027.

Literally the last remaining Paramount+ local title left is Last King of The Crosses third and likely final season.

Local dramas are sadly often one and done on Australian streaming services. Dalliance had interesting characters, with real human emotion.

It was refreshing to see Georgie Parker in something more adult and more gritty.

If you like Aussie drama, you'll love this. Dalliance continues Paramount+'s solid year of Aussie hits following, NCIS: Sydney (wrapping shooting season four in Sydney right now) and Two Years Later.
