HBO has a hit on its hands. Finally!
After a few misses (The Undoing was good, but no Big Little Lies), Mare of Easttown is a HIT! So much so it crashed HBO Max in the USA for the finale.
Created by Brad Ingelsby and starring Kate Winslet, Jean Smart, Guy Pearce, Julianne Nicholson, Angourie Rice, David Denman, Evan Peters, Sosie Bacon, and John Douglas Thompson.
The seven episodes concluded yesterday Australian time.
I loved this HBO series. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 92% approval rating, I don't think I'm alone.
The basic plot is a detective is investigating a murder in a small town near Philadelphia. However there is loads more going on than just the one murder.
Kate Winslet's character alone has so much going on it's at times hard to keep up. I am making a bold prediction, this will make a number of end of year lists as well as a pile of awards.
Well done HBO for returning to delivering premium, engaging well developed dramas. Great.
