It seven episodes to arrive at the conclusion of No Escape, was it worth in this sun soaked crime drama?
The British (although it has a very international feel to it) miniseries adapted by Kris Mrska from the Lucy Clarke novel The Blue.
It very much has a far North Queensland vibe with Susie Porter with the finale/present parts of the story set at Rockhampton.
Starring Abigail Lawrie, Rhianne Barreto with Aussies Jay Ryan, Sean Keenan, Gary Sweet, Anne Looby alongside Porter as Chief Inspector Sarah Craven. Also starring Colette Dalal Tchantcho, Elmo Anton Stratz, Narayan David Hecter, Josh McConville and Jake Macapagal.
The seven episode series land mid-May, so I continue my catch up on Paramount+.
The main plot revolves around two best friends Lana (Lawrie) and Kitty (Barreto) are escaping their lives in the UK, and hitch a trip on a yacht called The Blue in the Philippines.
The show takes some dark turns with an explosive conclusion you may or may not have seen coming.
No Escape isn't the best mystery streaming series out there, but it's worth a look. Also impressive to see Paramount+ continuing to support local/co-productions.
Next up the And Just Like That..., Nancy Drew (also on Paramount+) and Riverdale finale posts. See you next time!
