OK, so the Amazon series was axed after one season, however I Know What You Did Last Summer is back on the big screen after that short lived small screen version.
Filmed across NSW and LA, there even is a post credits scene, so stay in your seat people.
Last night's Friday 7pm session was almost sold out. It was a full crowd of young adults and a few older folk like me remembering the 1997 OG film.
So how does this film go down?
When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences.
A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge.
As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help.
I Know What You Did Last Summer is a sequel to 1998's I Still Know What You Did Last Summer & the fourth instalment in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise.
Starring Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Gabbriette Bechtel, and Austin Nichols, with Freddie Prinze Jr. & Jennifer Love Hewitt reprising their roles from the first two films.
Continuing with the plot, which takes place 28 years after the Tower Bay murders, when another hook-wielding killer appears and begins targeting a group of friends one year after they covered up a car accident in which they supposedly killed someone.
I Know What You Did Last Summer has mixed reviews from critics, however for me, the throwbacks to the OG film, the links to it's sequel, the set up for another film. I was sold by the final credits.
