Aussie Joel Edgerton has been busy, he writes, produces, directs and stars in THE GIFT.



The film with a relatively small budget of $5 million has already made (as of Mid September 2015) $45.1 Million. This is a good achievement on any film, however for an Aussie in Hollywood to do this, this is wonderful, well done Joel.

To Joel discredit though the film's trailer (above to view if y'all wish) really didn't sell the film to me, what did was a 10am session on a Saturday morning. The trailer is not perfect however the tension and pace of this film really work.

Jason Bateman is good as the lead as is English actress Rebecca Hall. Joel Edgerton plays the creepy Gordo but the bad guy roles sort of changes halfway through the film. You need to watch it to find out how. And I do really recommend this film it's a rather good thriller and no blood and gore is required.

The Gift is a simple story but done well, this is the best Jason Bateman film I have seen in a while, 3.5 thrilling stars.
