April/May Finales - How to Get Away with Murder (Season 6)

This is how you do a series finale, How to Get Away with Murder, concluded it's sixth Season this week.

Commencing in 2014, How to Get Away with Murder has now had it's swan song. Following Scandal, The Catch and Still Star-Crossed concluding on the US ABC network, Shonda Rhimes is clearly making her transition to Netflix. A deal between Rhimes and Netflix was struck in 2017. So expect some Shonda shows appearing on Netflix soon.

With Rhimes and Ryan Murphy, Netflix has some of the biggest TV producers around.

Now to the series closer. Clearly there are spoiler alerts ahead.

If you are up to date clip one was a highlight, if you are yet to start the sixth and final series check out clip two. Spoilers to follow....

Following a number of major deaths, following five season long mysteries, How to Get Away with Murder ended it's biggest mystery. Was Viola Davis as Annalise Keating guilty? Following Matt McGorry as Asher Millstone death earlier in the series, the Keating Five become the Keating four plus Conrad Ricamora as Oliver Hampton.

Spoiler alert, the last 8 minutes is golden. Viola Davis has always been outstanding in this major TV role. Yes the series hit some road bumps along the way. It sort of struggled with Alfred Enoch as Wes Gibbins death in series three. However as a major twist Enoch returns in the finale as Christopher Castillo. A grown up version.

Karla Souza as Laurel Castillo had a limited role this season, however with the above Christopher reveal, her role in the finale was fairly major.

Bonnie and Frank have a very ill fated final appearance, whilst the Annalise Keating death is all a little bit of a trick too. Yes there is a major flash forward wrapping so much up nicely.

Like Six Feet Under in the past this series really wrapped everything up super well. Annalise Keating's funeral offered a look into the future, before this we got a look at her life with Tegan Price and with Frank & Bonnie dying earlier in the episode, their future was sealed.

I enjoyed this a lot more than some of the other farewells that also aired this week. I will post my thoughts on Station 19's third season swan song as well as maybe the last episode of not yet renewed Katy Keene.

There were some filler moments since 2014 of How to Get Away with Murder, however it did redeem itself in it's swan song.

Well done team, hopefully Blindspot will follow suit when it takes a bow in a few months.
