The Invitation is another horror film to grace our screens in 2022. Starring Nathalie Emmanuel and Thomas Doherty, The Invitation is inspired by the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker.
Telling the story of a young woman who, after her mother's death, meets long lost-family members for the first time, only to discover the dark secrets they carry with them.
The Invitation has received generally mixed reviews from critics.
Was it any good? Were there many jump scares? Not really. Once you figured out Vampires were in the mix, it kind of lost its way. However it was slightly more enjoyable than the other horror film I saw in the past week.
With Bodies Bodies Bodies still to come, have we had too many horror films this year? I am starting to feel like superhero films, we may need a little less horror until 2023 maybe.
Shall you take up an invitation to see this film? Maybe not cause I feel it is being bumped for the next release. Passable, only just. 2.5 Stars.
