DMZ is one of those series that landed when I was clearly busy AF!
So it is time to catch up on the miniseries created by Roberto Patino, based on the comic book series of the same name by Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli.
You can stream this on Binge as it is a HBO Max, or now simply known as Max.
It landed St Patrick's Day, 2022. So what's DMZ or demilitarised zone all about you ask?
Alma Ortega, a NYC medic, becomes a symbol of hope in a demilitarised Manhattan Island while trying to find her son, who wandered off instead of sticking with her during their evacuation from Manhattan during the Second American Civil War. Which really could be any day now with former President Orange Face on the rampage, again and again.
Rosario Dawson plays Alma, alongside Benjamin Bratt as Parco Delgado, Freddy Miyares as Skel, Hoon Lee plus Jordan Preston Carter joined the main cast.
Also in the four episode run are Rutina Wesley, Mamie Gummer, Nora Dunn, Henry G. Sanders, Venus Ariel, Jade Wu, Rey Gallegos, Agam Darshi, and Juani Feliz.
