Winter Watchlist Warmers - Gotham Knights - Season One/Series Finale

Gotham Knights is another one and done series for The CW. It's 13 episode solo season landed mid-March, only to be be cancelled did June.

Cantering around members of the Batman family, this is one of the last DC Comics series on The CW/in Australia on Binge.

The story goes like, in the wake of Bruce Wayne's death, his adopted son Turner Hayes forges an unlikely alliance with runaways Harper and Cullen Row, and the criminal Duela, when they are all framed for the murder and publicly accused of committing it by the Gotham City Police Department and District Attorney Harvey Dent. 

Dent of course is also known as Two-Face. So in a sub plot, this is also actually a Two-Face origin story. 

OK, back to the main storyline. The four youths attempt to clear their names and find out who really killed Bruce Wayne, with help from Turner's friend Stephanie Brown and Turner's classmate Carrie Kelley, who secretly operates as Robin. The mystery of who framed them soon leads to the Court of Owls. Over time, they evolve into becoming Gotham's new protectors known as the "Gotham Knights".

This series was better than I expected. Way better than the recent final series of The Flash. However it struggled to find an audience in the US. Also with the writers strike (still on going) and The CW's sale, this show was kinda doomed from the get go.

The 13 episodes live on Binge now. So if you're a die hard Batman fan this little, soon to be hidden gem could be for you. Particularly if you like Two-Face as a bad guy.
