Post Strike Cinema 24' - Alien: Romulus

Alien: Romulus landed last night at my local cinema. So I thought what about a midweek treat to check out a film. I used to do it all the time in summer, not so much in Winter.

Directed by Fede Álvarez, who co-wrote the film, with Rodo Sayagues, the film was produced by Scott Free Productions and Brandywine Productions.

This is the seventh instalment in the Alien franchise and serves as a standalone interquel set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). Set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986),[4] the story concerns a group of young space colonists who, while scavenging a derelict space station, come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

Starring a younger cast of newcomers like Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu.

I have not seen all Alien films, however I did see the previous Ridley Scott film, Alien: Covenant.

So was the high octane, sci-fi/horror/action-thriller any good?

Look it had loads of action (after a slow start) with a few jump scares along the way too. It was fast paced once the young cast visited the space station.

It didn't feel like there was any fresh ground covered, however it was done well.

If outer space, horror is your jam, get out to the cinema now, Alien: Romulus opens today.

3 Outer-Space Stars.
