Film Influencer 2025 - Companion

Companion is a fresh science fiction horror/comedy. The film landed at the cinemas last week. Alongside Babygirl, it was a weekend of interesting relationships explored on the big screen.

Starring Sophie Thatcher, The Boys lead Jack Quaid, alongside J. D. Lifshitz. Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén & Rupert Friend.

As a couple on a weekend getaway with friends at a remote cabin, which unravels into chaos after a revelation that one of the guests is a companion robot or as they say in the film a fuck-bot.

Written & directed by Drew Hancock, produced by Zach Cregger, Roy Lee, Raphael Margules and J. D. Lifshitz. This is a fresh take on the whole horror/comedy genre!

Companion thus far, has received positive reviews from critics. What did I think about this AI slasher?...

Companion may not be super original as far as revenge/horror goes, however there was something about this film. Where will AI take us? Will we be able to control fuck-bots on our smart devices? Will autonomous cars actually exist in the future? Will they replace Telsa's?

The film also keeps the pace at just over an hour and a half.

Will it win any awards? Nah, will it make my end of year list? Maybe not. But I did enjoy this film.
