Cinema Slut #2019 - Long Shot

Charlize Theron, legend, Seth Rogen, a funny bastard, combine the two and this is what a rom com is like in 2019.

Add in a million pop culture and current political reference, you get Long Shot. Landing a week after The Avengers, we see a star studded political rom com land and man this is funny.



From diary meets the environment jokes, great music, Boy II Men, Lisa Kudrow, Randall Park (aka sex on legs) and add in as the prime minister of Canada, Alexander Skarsgård you get a huge cast, huge potential and a lot of laughs.

I loved this film, the cast are great Charlize and Seth are wonderful as the could be power couple and they really make this a fun, easy to watch picture.

I am not a huge fan of rom coms, but I love a good comedy and this is actually one. A little blown out at over two hours, however it travels the world, follows a 2020 presidential candidate and even throws in AOC's New Green Deal. Yes I think the creators make have a crush on AOC, but hey don't we all.

You know America is divided, this is Hollywood, left leaning material, but the messages mixed with the cum jokes round this out to be a honest look at humans. We are not perfect as humans, we all wank, we all have things the media will not like as they will NEVER find a 100% holy political candidate in 2019.

Long Shot is refreshing, funny and smart, it gets a solid AF 4 Stars, fun. If superheroes are not your thing, this might be, go see it now!
