Starstruck aired late April 2021 on BBC and HBO Max, now landing on ABC iView in Australia.
Staring Rose Matafeo, Emma Sidi, Nikesh Patel and Minnie Driver in a special guest starring role. A second series was commissioned ahead of the first series airing. Which for me is good news. This was a simply easy as watch. Six thirty minute episodes around a 20-something New Zealand woman living in Hackney, London, working jobs in a cinema and as a nanny. After a one-night stand on New Year's Eve, she discovers she slept with a famous movie star.
Rose Matafeo as Jessie and Nikesh Patel as Tom have great chemistry across the seasons titled episodes six episode run.
This was a simply joyful TV experience. Honestly the six episodes just breeze by so easily. It's funny, has real heart with characters who you can honestly relate to.
While its sport for days with the incoming Tokyo games, this is a welcome distraction whilst also being completely free to now on iview.
Tomorrow we say goodbye to Mr Inbetween.
