The Chair landed last August in the midst of Lockdown V2.0 on Netflix. So I was seeking familiar easy to watch tales. However easy to watch, light, fun, outstanding entertainment is exactly what The Chair is all about.
Set at the fictional Pembroke University, starring Sandra Oh (I needed my fix before Killing Eve's final season commences later this month) along with an all star cast. Holland Taylor, the one the only, David Duchovny stars as Himself with Jay Duplass as Bill Dobson and the highlight of the series Everly Carganilla as Ju-Hee "Ju Ju" Kim.
A brief over view of the series, Professor Ji-Yoon Kim is the newly appointed chair of the English department at Pembroke University. The first woman chosen for the position, she attempts to ensure the tenure of a young black colleague, negotiate her relationship with her crush, friend, and well-known colleague Bill Dobson, and parent her strong-willed adopted daughter.
Featured on my favourite TV blogs, top 20 one day binge list, The Chair really is an easy watch. According to this blog, all you need is three hours to watch the entire series. Dope.
While I wait for the fourth and final season of Killing Eve, this has tied me over with my Sandra Oh quirky fix. For funny one liners, smart comedy, get onto The Chair. What have you got to lose, three hours?
