Moon Knight is the latest Disney+ Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) miniseries. Although there is speculation there could be more Moon Knight in one way or another.
Oscar Isaac stars as Marc Spector / Moon Knight and Steven Grant / Mr. Knight, two alters of a man with dissociative identity disorder.
Also starring is May Calamawy, Karim El Hakim, F. Murray Abraham, Ethan Hawke, Ann Akinjirin, David Ganly, Khalid Abdalla, Gaspard Ulliel, Antonia Salib, Fernanda Andrade, Rey Lucas, Sofia Danu, and Saba Mubarak.
Filming took place from April to October 2021, primarily in Budapest as well as in Jordan, Slovenia & Atlanta, Georgia.
Moon Knight premiered the first of its six episode run on March 30, 2022, concluding on May 4.
The series received positive reviews, with particular praise for Isaac's and Hawke's performances and the darker tone compared to previous MCU series. I however wasn't completely sold.
Whilst it was different to previous series like Loki or WandaVision, it really seemed to lack direction or a decent conclusion at the end of the sixth episode.
A plot summary suggests, Marc Spector, a mercenary who has dissociative identity disorder (DID), is drawn into a deadly mystery involving Egyptian gods with his multiple alters, such as Steven Grant.
Look I talked to imaginary friends as an only child, however this got a little dull by episode four. Maybe a standalone movie would have been better than a six episode run, week to week. That said though I only just caught up on all six episodes, in one sitting.
I am losing a bit of interest in all the Marvel hype. I am yet to see Doctor Strange's sequel film, I also hope the next Marvel series is a lot more engaging than this one.
Tomorrow I will shift gears into one of many US network TV's Autumn TV Finales. The Equalizer comes tomorrow followed by 9-1-1 (double), Station 19 and Big Sky! Big finale week!
