Winter Watchlist Warmers - Jack Ryan - Season Four/Series Finale

From an action film to an action TV series, airing its last (sort of) episode. Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan concluded it's short, six episode over three week run late last week.

Ahead of the third season, Amazon renewed the series for a fourth season,  it was confirmed the series would end after its fourth season. However a spin-off starring Michael Peña as Ding Chavez is in development. Chavez played a big role in season four, so the sort of last ever episode is like when the Walking Dead called it a day. Only to announce three spin-offs.

This season, Jack, now the CIA's acting deputy director, will face his most dangerous mission yet, which involves a foe operating both in the United States and further afield. 

The trouble begins after he begins investigating rumours of internal corruption, during which he and his trusted associates uncover evidence of an alliance between a drug cartel and a terrorist organization.

John Krasinski as Ryan get reunited in season four with Abbie Cornish, reprising her role as Dr. Cathy Mueller.

Wendell Pierce also continues as James Greer in the final six episode run. This was the first season to be released week to week, also being the shortest of all four seasons.

This was also a return to a quick turnaround between seasons. We did have a monster three year wait between seasons two and three.

Action TV has never looked more polished than Jack Ryan. The budget is big, Amazon and Paramount TV studios must have deep pockets.
