Alongs comes Dumb Money, a biographical comedy-drama film directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo.
Based on the 2021 book The Antisocial Network by Ben Mezrich. The book chronicles the GameStop short squeeze of January 2021.
With an all-star cast of some of my favourite comedy and TV stars Paul Dano, Pete Davidson, Vincent D'Onofrio, America Ferrera, Nick Offerman, Anthony Ramos, Sebastian Stan, Shailene Woodley, and Seth Rogen.
The film has received generally positive reviews from critics, while having an 83% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
I had heard about this briefly during the random Covid times. This was a seriously intense Keith Gill taking on Wall Street.
Honestly I saw the trailer a number of times. I was not sold. However on a Monday night screening. I was loving the drama. It was a super fine film.
Well under two hours Pete Davidson and Anthony Ramos shone in smaller roles.
I enjoyed the different pace of a non-horror film in this Halloween cinema period. Don't fear though, there are many more horror films on the way.
That said, Dumb Money scores and impressive 4 Stars.
