NOT another streaming Movie - Spa Weekend

Spa Weekend tells the story of four friends who reconnect with one another for a spa weekend. It reminds me of my long weekend in June, where I took off to Bali with three school friends.

However, out weekend was more tame than this romp.

At the heart of this story is friendship. Starring the powerhouses, Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, Michelle Buteau, Anna Faris, & Aussie hunk Adam Demos. Demos who is fresh from the now asked Baywatch inspired Rescue HI-Surf.

In the spirit of Bad Moms and The Hangover, this 90 minute laugh fest is a hilarious and heartfelt comedy about four lifelong friends who realise that somewhere between careers, relationships, families and everyday responsibilities, they have forgotten how to take care of themselves and each other.

Burned out and overdue for a break, the women escape to a luxury spa retreat for what turns out to be an unforgettable weekend dedicated to fun, laughter, and a lot of really bad decisions.

The film has not surprisingly received negative reviews from critics, but the point of the movie is, friendship, to have a laugh and forget the shit you dealt with before you brought your popcorn and got cozy in the cinema seat.

It is pure silly fun. Something the world needs right about now.

Interestedly the film was created by two blokes, Jon Lucas and Scott Moore writing and directing. Principal photography began on Valentine's Day, last year, right here, in Queensland, Australia. Creating loads of jobs and showcasing some local talent. AKA Demos + Fisher. Great cast. Great story. Fun music used. Overall a fun rise.

This film came, just at the right time when I needed a good laugh.

If you (like me) need a giggle, this is perfect. It is slightly predictable, but damn Dominic Ona-Ariki is also so likeable and good looking too.

Predictable yes, a bit silly, absolutely, but damn we need to not be so serious all the time. Fun. 4 Stars from me! LOVED it.
