Cocaine Bear sounds fucking wild, it is FUCKING wild!
Directed and produced by Elizabeth Banks, Cocaine Bear is loosely inspired by the true story of the "Cocaine Bear", an American black bear that ingested millions of dollars of lost cocaine in 1985.
So expect 80's tunes, gory bear attacks with a wild cast, creating pure mayhem! It truly is a wild, fun 90 minutes in the cinema.
Starring Felicity and The Americans Keri Russell along with The Ameircans co-star, the fab Margo Martindale. With O'Shea Jackson Jr., Christian Convery, Alden Ehrenreich, Brooklynn Prince, plus Isiah Whitlock Jr.
Cocaine Bear is also a posthumous release for Ray Liotta, who died on May 26, 2022, with the film being dedicated to his memory.
So in December 1985 a 175-pound (79 kg) American black bear that died after ingesting a duffel bag full of cocaine.
The cocaine had been dropped out of an airplane piloted by Andrew C. Thornton II, a former narcotics officer and convicted drug smuggler, because his plane was carrying too heavy a load. Thornton then jumped out of the plane with a faulty parachute and died.
The bear, who died sometime after consuming the cocaine, was found three months later in northern Georgia alongside 40 opened plastic containers of cocaine.
The bear is currently on display at the Kentucky for Kentucky Fun Mall in Lexington, Kentucky, which named the creature "Cocaine Bear" in 2015.
Elizabeth Banks did a great job with this story. I actually had a really fun time at the cinema with this one. It's wild, outrageous and a totally good time at the cinema. Something I rarely say in 2023.
Fun, 4 bear sized Stars!
