Scorchin' Summer Streamin' 25 - Tulsa King - Season Three
Tulsa King is another Taylor Sheridan series living on Paramount+. Lead by Sylvester Stallone as Dwight "The General" Manfredi, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Vincent Piazza, Garrett Hedlund, & Dana Delany.
Annabella Sciorra, Frank Grillo, and Neal McDonough joined the second-season main cast, continuing through into the third.
Paramount announced ahead of season three, a fourth season as well as a spin-off series called NOLA King which will star Samuel L. Jackson, have both been ordered. So in true spin-off style, Samuel L. Jackson joined for episode nine and ten of this season.
I expect NOLA King to land ahead of the fourth (and possibly final) season of the Stallone mother series. Wow without Taylor Sheridan, there would be like no content on Paramount+.
So how'd you think Samuel L. Jackson did? Does he deserve a New Orleans version of Tulsa King? Time will tell. So how'd the finale, Out of Adventure go down. Spoilers below.
Margaret and Dwight discuss Thresher's election prospects which have improved since the bombing incident. Thresher later invites Margaret to join his team permanently after the election.
Dwight then discovers Joanna is missing, before then receiving a ransom call from Dunmire. Dwight musters a crew and more weapons, but while doing so Cole goes to volunteer assistance, telling them where Joanne is being held.
The crew invades the Dunmire home, and rescues Joanne. Dunmire himself escapes and is pursued by Dwight, who catches him and burns him alive in retribution for Montague's death.
Musso meets Dwight and gives him the federal liquor licence in exchange for the information extracted from Deacon. Dwight refuses to disclose where Deacon's body is but assures Musso it will never be found.
This wasn't my favourite season of Tulsa King. I have to be honest, season one felt refreshing and new. However now in the third season, it's all a little rinse and repeat. That said Samuel L Jackson did add something to the final two episodes of the run.
Next up, Talamasca: The Secret Order wraps its first season, while USA network TV is all about to go on end of year breaks. Then in Australia it's the last week of TV ratings. Expect repeats, sport, lengthy pre-sporting game panels and Big Brother hanging around a little longer. Thank god for catch ups on streaming services.
