Happy Saturday

G'day G'day,

Happy Saturday!

Now it is the morning of Good Vibrations and I sit here wondering what audio treats will I hear today, Mr Kanye, The Hill or even the almighty Katalyst, a full review will be coming soon.

A quick happy birthday to the ever beautiful Miss Donna Louise! Big kisses pet!

Now over the past week I have been at the movies again and I stopped by the new Star Theatre for some drag!

First off to the movies, "There Will Be Blood" with the amazing and extremely talented Daniel Day Lewis. What an amazing part and maybe even Oscar worthy, however the film was way too long, yet you could never predict Daniel Day Lewis's characters next move so if you can handle a nearly 3 hour film.

Now to Rocky Horror at the new Star Theatre. Okay I would like to alert Star City management about the following:

1. Men never line up to take a piss and having three toilets in the venue is well, piss poor.
2. Half the seats in the venue are almost restricted viewing.
3. Having barcoded tickets is great for security, but security is forgotten about when 1,000 swamped the doors with only one poor usher with a scanner.
4. A love a venue that promotes gambling to the nines, with a room full of pokies in full view of the bar, it's a marketing dream!

Now to the people who decided to put on this production:

1. Previews are to give people a good impression of a show, that includes complete programs being produced, props working and some of the stars actually knowing what show they are in (e.g. Tampon Carroll).
2. If the ticket says 8:00pm it starts at 8:00pm not 8:10pm.

Now to the show, it didn't get much better than the six points above, yes it was a preview but I didn't see the two words - DRESS REHEARSAL follow the word PREVIEW. Iota again as stated before is one of the most talented Australian singers at present an dI am beginning to think he should stick to solo work. Other cast members can only bring your performance down when you are as talented as he is.

The good points:
1. Customes - AMAZING!
2. Iota
3. Cute back up dancers (well they looked cute from the nose bleeds, they could have been butt ugly for all I know?)
4. Short and some what Sweet, over by 10pm

The Bad Points:
1. Whenever Iota is off the stage
2. Whenever Tampon Carroll is on the stage
3. Some scenes evern though this was a short production, dragged on!

Overall an average show, can't say too many bad things about the show (the venue on the other hand) it was an okay night at the Theatre.

Next up a review on Good Vibes and the Melbourne weekend next weekend starring Spamalot".

Happy Saturday all!

Film Freak: The Kite Runner & The Jane Austin Book Club

Film Freak:-

With all the wet Summer weather I have found great comfort in heading to the cinema for two very different yet both fantastic films in their own right.

First Up we will start with "The Kite Runner", an amazing tale of great friendship and deals with themes much more mature than the two leads ages. This film is beautifully shot and deals with many issues and has such an inspirational message. You leave the cinema feeling like you have planted 100 trees or erased Britney Spears entire back catalogue from the history of music to save the souls of the next generation.

Second up, it sounds camp and a cliched chick film, well yes and yes but the Jane Austin Book Club is a fun, funny and at times sad film about 6 people all looking for something more fulfilling in their lives. I felt I had a bit of each of the six main characters in me, and you can't help leaving the cinema smiling.

Two very watchable films as this year is really turning out to be a great year for film.
Also still to come is the much anticaptied follow up to "Batman Begins", the "Dark Knight" film, Heath's final film. This movie will be bigger than Ben Huir! The trailer looks stunning and god bless Heath he was bloody talented and in this film he makes Jack Nicholson's original Joker character rather like Mika, that annoying homo bouncing around singing about big girls and Grace Kelly.

Also a BIG happy Valentines Day to you all.

Kisses,
Andrew

Aunty Val!
