Top 5 @ 5

1. MSTKRFT - Bounce ft. N.O.R.E
2. The Prestes - If I Know You - Remixes
3. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Off Withn Their Heads (and various cuts from It's Blitz)
4. Peaches - Talk to Me
5. Bertie Blackman - Heart

A few other note able mentions, Daniel Merriweather's much anticipated release produced by Mark Ronson "Change", Calvin Harris has stepped back in the rave cave for his delicousdance-tastic hit "I'm Not Alone & Little Birdy return shortly with their new disc "Confetti"featuring the FAB "Brother" (featuring Paul Kelly on backing vocals and harmonica) & the lead single "Summarize"

Guys & Dolls - The Capitol Theatre

Well the BIG musical hits Sydney and packs the stars in, Lisa McCune (she'll always be Maggie Doyle to me), Kenny, Gary MacDonald and more favourite Aussie soap stars.

I had already seen this in it's successful Melbourne run and really loved the first act, however the second act tends to drag on a bit.

The show is great with a few big numbers.

Guys & Dolls is a bit of a timeless classic and it could actually be the perfect musical.

Guys & Dolls rates 3 "Jazz Hands" stars.

Film Freak - The Comination

In the current tide of bikie wars and Underbelly this movie shows real violence and racebattles in Sydney's suburbs in a real light.

The Movie has a few parts a love story, a coming of age story and a family trying to make ends meet story.

This movie had some beautiful moments and also some extremely hard to watch moments.
When watching the news and see shots fired at houses you know parts of this movie are really going on a lot closer to our homes.

This is a must see film that a lot of people really need to take a look at.

The Combination definitely packs a punch of 4 Aussie stars.

Film Freak - Notorious

This movie is great! My last couple of reviews have been fairly so-so but this film is awesome!
Look I love hip-hop and music, but this movie simply brings it!

Lil Kim, Faith Evans, 2PAC & of course Notorious all make their mark on this movie, even P.Diddy or Puff Daddy (back in the day) makes an appearance.

I liked this film for so many reasons, we all know the story, but it's a must see and the acting is actually tops!

If you love hip-hop this is a must see.

Notorious rates a big 4 hip hoppin stars YO!

Mardi Gras Double Bill - Belvoir Street

Well I only stayed for Bison, which was a fairly stereotypical look at four different gay men, including a young twink, a late twenties hussy, a mid 30' to 40's sex freak and an older gay man.

It had good moments but one moment where I nearly spewed.

Bison rates 2 and a half very gay stars.

Film Freak - Friday 13th - remake

This was a fairly tame horror/thriller in a genre which seems to have again lost it's way.

The whole idea of a superman killer really annoys me. We are all human whether we are the masked killer or not, if the person about to get killed is running and the killer is walking, surely the person said to be killed will get away? Well not with Jason.

He is a fucking power walker that event Olympic power walkers better watch there backs bitches!

This is fairly tame & slightly lame but rates 2 stars for some cute eye candy, and no Jason is not the Eye Candy, however he is still hotter than Colin Firth.

Ben Lee - iTunes Store Sydney

ARRRGGGHHH Mr Lee (AGAIN), gotta love him, and his new songs are growing on me now.

He really is one of my all time favourite performers!

Mr Lee rates a big bright & bubbly 4 stars!

Film Freak - Easy Virtue

I can only say this movie was truly terrible, Colin Firth has got to be one of the most annoying actors in this day & age, wait for this one to be the midday movie, only if it's a rainy day.

Easy Virtue rates an easy 0 stars.

Baghdads Wedding - Belvoir Street

Belvior Street has a promising 2009 season and my first look was Baghdad's Wedding, which was a full on look into Iraq full a few different viewpoints.

The show really challenged you in parts but keep your attention for the full 1 hour plus one act performance.

Baghdad's Wedding rates 3 and half stars.

The Big O

Friday 27 February 2009
Manning Bar

ARRRGGGHHHH pimples and uni students!

Well music, pimples and lot's of beer!

The Big O kicked off with Bluejuice playing a high energy set with their favourites and some exciting new tunes!

It was then a fairly tight set from the Fratellis who pumped out the hits for their huge backpacker following!

It was then for my old favourite mr Ben Lee, he played a mean greatest hits set with all the favourites including "Cigarettes will kill you" & "Catch My Disease".

The Music wrapped up a fairly good night of live music.

the line up was slightly weird with most of these bands not really sharing fans.

The Big O rates a uni degree score of 3 stars.

Film Freak - Gran Tarino

Let me just start by saying this film is flipping awesome!

Clint Eastwood is really awesome as this bitter and twisted old man, a bit like me really,he just has a lot more wrinkles.

This movie is heart warming, funny and heart breaking all in one.

This movie has been dubbed as the must see movie of 2009 and it actually could be one of those.
Gran Tarino might be a funny name for a film but it's flippin hot! 4 stars.
