Off to see my map of Tassie on Saturday

Happy New Year You ya pack of Chunts!

Sydney Goes Green with Wicked!

Well Wicked has made it's way to Sydney and it's taken me a while to see it for the third time, but the wait was well worth it. The Capitol theatre makes a beautiful space for this truly Wicked musical.

The cast has changed a bit with some new faces and some understudy action but still a great performance.

The show truly is magical and I think I need to see it a few more times however sitting front row this time was a real treat seeing the costumes and make up real close!

A great show and great songs with the touching friendship between the two glamorous girls!

Film Freak - Avatar

2009 mega budget hit with Aussie fav Sam Worthington is finally here and it is definitely spectacular.

It's hard to say with these blockbusters usually whether they are any good or not as the special effects really over runs the story/plot and sometimes even the main characters.

However this hard a fairly interesting storyline and Sam Worthington is always delightful to watch.

The story held it's own from James Cameron (My Heart will go On - Titanic fame) however it did in parts feel a little long and you just couldn't wait to see the final battle scene.

I didn't see this in 3D as due to lack of Christmas cheer and bonuses this year I opted for the regular budget edition which was still compelling!

I believe this one will do extremely well and will see young Sam Worthington make it in the US of A!

Merry Christmas everyone and I am feeling a little generous giving this one 4 stars.

Slide - El Circo - Take Two

I travelled along to Oxford Street for El Circo almost a year ago now and loved every minute of it, it was really great!

This time around with a lovely Christmas theme it was simply fantastic, the live entertainment, the food the atmosphere were all five star and after sitting through Twilight - New Moon let's face it, anything was going to be more spectacular!

A big round of applause also for the fab drag queen who hosted the show and ran the evening so well, very exciting evening!

5 stars for this fab evening out!

Film Freak - Twilight - New Moon

Well I gave in and saw Twilight - A New Moon, it really wasn't as bad as I thought, I mean the first movie was so diabolical nothing could really be that bad. The acting was non existent, the plot (well let's face it there was none) and to top of it the new sexiest man alive looks like he may belong in a special needs facility.

Okay so the story was as EMO as all hell with a decent soundtrack (I am sure the bands and artists on this soundtrack will now lose there die hard fans after this) and some hot boys.

What scares me with this movie franchise is it's all about love and romance but there is no sex and to top that off not even much kissing WTF!

Let's dace it this series is not that believable and the terrible acting and facial expressions on the female lead bleak Bella just is too much sometimes. I found myself laughing aloud at the shocking dialogue and the serve EMO moments.

Okay so this sounds like a complete waste of time and money so here are the good points:

1. Jacob - once he looses that god awful long hair
2. The special Effects - are a million times better than the first joke of a film
3. The soundtrack - Lykki Li, Death Cab, Lupe, basically an all star line up
4. The action scenes are fairly good

So it's not all bad but it's no great success either.

1 and half stars (mainly for the shirtless, hot short wearing boys :)

Film Freak - Where the Wild Things Are

Why, I ask Why are kids movies this year not really all that suitable for kids (see previous Up 3D review).

Now I Say this as the starting scene was enough to scare the short shorts off me! A kid growling bounding down stairs and chasing a rather large dog = scary!

Anyway firstly the music from Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeah's) is simply amazing, I loved every minute of her work on this movie, amazing! A soundtrack to be proud to own I say!

The movie now is good but a little long for a conversion from a children's book, however the effects, the wild things and the story is pretty cute, however slightly touching at the same time.

The movie has a lot going for it and I think if you want to stay out of the sun and stay in the cool this summer there is definitely a lot worse out there that you could sit through, 3 stars.

3. SIA - You've Changed (best summer song EVER!)
4. Hot Chip – One Life Stand
5. Kid Cudi - Enter Galactic

Christmas is almost here and so is my gift register

Temper Trap - Conditions CD

BH 90210 series 6 & 7 DVD

Terminator Series 2 DVD

Or you can just get me a JB HI-FI gift card NOW!!!

A Night at the Theatre - Midsummer Night's Dream

Well I do love a downstairs Theatre show at Belvoir Street and their interesting youthful look at a Midsummer Night's Dream definitely didn't disappoint!

A great cast of young and upcoming actors, the lovely NIDA grad Andrew Lees who has made it big on "Rescue Special Ops" was a star as were some of the other young actors.

Shakespeare can always be interpreted in many ways and I think the director and his cast did a solid job with this one. Especially when a Whitney Houston (Shit Me Houston) song can be packed into the mix!

A good night of theatre with some hot crowd members too!

3 and a half stars!

Mamma Mia it's nearly Christmas

Well it's a Thursday night and it looks like most of Sydney is out getting pissed or doing last minute Christmas shopping before as I sit in Row H of the stalls I am almost the back row of tonight's Momma Mia performance.

A show I have heard a lot about, a movie I have seen and hated and some cute boys made for a different night at the Theatre.

I can now see where Priscilla got most of it's ideas for a wacky Jukebox musical!

The show was good a little cheap looking but not too bad.

I enjoyed the more upbeat numbers much more than some of the weaker boring ABBA ballads. Hey let's face it if you hate ABBA or the movie please avoid this at all costs! The megamix at the end was a little bit of a time filler as it was a short and fairly sweet second half.

I give this one 2 and half stars as it's Christmas and all!

Top 5 @ 5 - Mon 7 December 2009

1. SIA - You've Changed
2. Roisin Murphy- Orally Fixated
3. Chasm & Vida Sunsyhne - Where Did We Go Wrong?
4. The Gossip - Love Long Distance
5. The Bloody Beetroots - House No84

SIA @ the Enmore Theatre

What a hot gig this was probably the hottest show of 2009! I have loved her for like ever and this was just a spectacular evening of hot music, hot people and good vibes!

My highlights were definitely the tasty new track "You've Changed" and definitely the closer, "Breathe Me" where you could hear a pin drop and look around and see everyone staring at the lovely SIA.

Her comedy and lovely presence on stage was simply amazing!

The show was perfect on a night where you can just tell Summer is on the way.

FIVE STARS!

Farewell Perth & a final stroll down Avenue Q

Oh dear my two weeks is tick tock tick tock UP!

I can't believe how quick my two weeks living in a west end world have gone! I have travelled to Mandurah, I have been through the mighty Kings Park, my body has no idea what time it is and I have witnessed a Perth opening Night!

Yes last night in Perth saw Avenue Q open, which I was rather harsh on in my last review and I still feel a little reluctant to give it a brilliant review so I have decided to review the after party instead, because that was FAB!

Now the show is not very long and with a dreamy 7:30pm show start time I was out by 10pm drink and party food in hand, and was their party food, their was enough food for all the boat people and then some!

Great party great little location and how I love Perth, swan out to the street and BOOM! there is a taxi, oh I love it, not like Sydney you as well just walk home!

So that brings me to the end of my stay in Perth and what a stay it has been I have also braved the rough city nightlife of Northbridge, been made a fool of at the Great Moscow Circus in Mandurah and discovered how beautiful the Western part of our country is.

What a hoot it has been and I have loved every minute of the BLOG updates and I hope you have also, I hopefully will be doing another Australia all over excursion early next year to check out some people's maps of Tassie so stay tuned peoples.

Happy weekend y'all in the end to a week with twins have been made singles, the Aussie dollar is still riding high, the drama off shore with the boat peoples is finally resolved or is it? and who could go passed the fact the Britney is still lip syncing her rather motherly figure across this fine brown land.

Until next time, C YA

Week Two in Downtown Perth, WA

Well I am on the homeward stretch to my timely return to the East, Sydney city or some say Sin City!

I must say I was feeling it after a big night on the dance floor on Saturday dancing away in my own little rave cave to Brit's, Gaga, David "Sexy Bitch" DJ who works with all those RnB peoples and more. I had a great long walk (and got lost (twice)) through the beautiful Kings Park.

I entered my second week of Perth with a sun burnt face (due to my 2.5 hour walk through the Park), a sore head and one hell of a story to tell with my Moscow Circus guest starring appearance (more valuable than Heather Locklear's back in Melrose Place).

Now except a full review of my second sitting through Avenue Q opening Perth @ the Regal. I will also have live reviews back from Sydney on SIA @ the Enmore and a few more bit's and pieces coming up, hey some great gigs are coming see all the info below:

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Hordern Pavilion (early Jan)
Dizzee Rascal - Enmore Theatre (Late Jan)
Calvin Harris - Metro Theatre (Late Jan)
Lily Allen - Hordern Pavilion (Late Jan)
Good Vibes around the country in Feb 2010 (feat. the Gossip (Scream Beth Ditto), Salt n Pepa and a whole swag more!!!

That's it from Perth now with more to come in my final few days!

Man oh Man I'm in Mandurah

Well after the Moscow Circus debacle the night before I gather myself and had a look around the lovely town on Mandurah.

This town is all waterside, well designed and has cute little shops, cafes and yes fish & chip joints larger than Sydney's CBD!

After my trip to Mandurah I headed back to Perth for my ONE night on the Razzle Dazzle. Now this time last week the suburb (the next suburb to Perth) was in all the local papers. 40 Police go to Northbridge to close nightclub down, dozens arrested, read the headlines and I thought hey, this sounds like my kind of joint. It was basically like Kings Cross (with less whores), China Town (with my Japanese and Koreans), Newtown (less fanny bashers) and Darlinghurst (cleaner and not so skanky) all rolled into one.

Yes I head to the Court (fuck it was hard to find! Two places in the same street and cross st called the Court - originality people PLEASE!).

Okay so Northbridge was not Redfern take two, it was a fun place to drink, get loose and dance the night way to the town's most hated pop princess Shit Me Spears, Black Eyed Peas and more top 40 dance and in the other room, Mash Up's, Salt n Pepa, 90's stuff and the old piece of my man Dizzee Rascal.

The night was fab, I drunk too much, danced till my pants were wetter than a gay man off to see Britney whenever she decides to land in Sydney and really let my hairs down.

Greta fun night and I definitely recommend the Court to every Gay & Fanny Basher who deciders to go WEST!

AWT - Friday the 13th Report

Well Friday the 13th couldn't be more freaky than me (yes me) joining the cast of the Moscow Circus. I was serevely stitched up in an effort to get me into the Ring!

I couldn't believe it I have never been one for audience participation, I leave that to the performers and well was I embarrassed, the only thing keeping me from running out of the Circus screaming louder than Shit Me Spears after reading her Perth concerts reviews was the fact that I was in Mandurah, where you ask, Mandurah?

Yes I headed regional WA after my first working week in WA. I headed off to see the mighty Great Moscow Circus and yes was asked to join the show with three other unsuspecting people! OMG!

I thought to myself around 7:30pm nothing has gone wrong on this Friday the 13th until around 8:30pm that night!

Besides me running into the Ring the remainder of the Circus as per my last review was simply fab. The young kids love it, the middle aged love it and the oldies laugh and cackle along too.

After a mighty week and surviving the time change and being in a show (EEEEHHHHH) it came to an end of a memorable week in Perth-a-Lumpa

Friday, November 13, 2009

OMG it's Friday the 13th!

OMG I can hardly believe I have nearly been in Perth-a-Lumpa for one whole week!

And now it's Friday the 13th I am like totally freaking out!

I am very excited as the weekend draws ever so near that I will be going on a road trip to Mandurah tonight and checking out wait for it, the Great Moscow Circus! Review coming soon!

Also on the weekend I have Northbridge in sights and next week Avenue Q opening night @ the Regal Theatre, Subiaco. Now if you remember my review of the Sydney season it was (what some would say) a wee bit harsh so let's see what happens this time around.

Well that's about if from me on this fine Friday the 13th, be safe, be careful and be nice to others on the freakiest of all Fridays.

Ladyhawke @ the Enmore Theatre - Sat 7 Sep 2009

Well one of my favourite new acts of 2008/2009 was live on stage at Sydney's Enmore, this being the second time I have seen her and this time with a capacity crowd!

She played through the majority of her album and also a few b-sides and covers in her encore.

And what a lesbian following, she had more dyke's on bikes than the Mardi Gras and more snazzy sisters than Stonewall on a Friday night. They pink dollar was very evident tonight!

She played a super set and left the crowd singing "stop playing with MY DELIRIUM". What a set, what a night! Go you good Kiwi in this year's ARIA awards, someone has to beat Jessica Maubouy!

Perth - Living in the Real Wild West - Day's Two & Three

I am into my fourth day in the lovely WA and yes it's raining WTF, the dreamy weather has all but gone.

Now my first and second days were spent with lovely runs around the waterside, working in our delightful Perth Office and spending way too much time in the local Woolworths stocking up on my daily salad needs.

I must say this city really has a chilled out and totally relaxed atmosphere, people just stroll into work, the streets are super clean and air is so much fresher than the East.

The time difference is still my total downfall with getting through a full episode of Home and Away is still a task as this is on at like 10pm EST. EEEEEHHHHH Can't stay up even to perv on the super hunky Lincoln Lewis! Who would have ever thought a fucking ugly footballer (not like Issac Luke) would have such a hot son, maybe his wife had an affair (that's my bet).

So living over in WA is really doing good things for my stress levels and I am about to have a road trip down the Coast to Mandurah to check out the Great Moscow Circus. All very exciting.

As the weekend approaches I am also going to risk my life by heading out into the WA Seedy underground of Northbridge and make my way back from Mandurah.

Perth is really winning me over with the sublime weather, friendly people and dreamy work men over here!

Stay tuned for more updates as they are coming soon!!!

Perth Days One & Two - Times are Changing

EEEHHHHH why does one part of one side of the country have daylight saving and the other plus QLD rejects this, EEEEHHHH it's affecting my sleep mo fuckers!

Well I had the most delicious flight to Perth including watching the great new Woody Allen Movie "Whatever Works":

FILM FREAK - Whatever Works

This movie is exactly they way I feel about Romance, jaded and extremely bitter!

This movie is simply terrific very well acted, great start, middle and finish, yes this movie is old school it starts the way it ends and it all works together quite beautifully. They don't do that too much these days!

I loved the story lines and the interesting outcomes in this movie. The plot was great and all the leads were magic!

I can't say enough good things about this film, but GO OUT and see it!

This does work, 4 stars!

Now back to my trip on QANTAS (Queer and Nasty Try Another Service) just joking, I would only ever fly this airline!

I landed in Perth and almost got the 4 hours travelling time back with this wacky time thing over here, I landed to Britney mayhem or lack of with her concerts getting the worst reviews I had seen since my last review.

I arrived at my delightful room and checked out the talent and the town. I do love Perth, it's like a small country town only with some good looking people thrown into the mix.

I passed out at 7pm as this would usually be 10pm (proper time) and woke up at Midnight, 3am, 4am and so on, until I thought bugger it let's have a run and check out Perth early in the morning.

And what a beautiful city along the water ways at 5:30am. The city really is magic, it's quiet, still and it almost seemed offensive to turn my IPOD up to 11 with the latest A-TRAK remix.

I had a great ring and then got ready for my first day in the Perth office which I loved!

The people over here really make the city, the people in Perth really are amazing!

Stay tuned for my Ladyhawke review from the Enmore Theatre Sydney and more tales as I do Australia all over.

PERTH HERE I COME DAILY UPDATES COMING SOON!

Top 5 @ 5 – Fri 6 November 2009

1.Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Heads Will Roll – A Trak Club Mix Edit
2. Amanda Blank - DJ
3. Amanda Blank – Make It Take It/Might Like You Better and various other cuts from “I Love U”
4. Duck Sauce - Anyway
5. Matt Van Schie 'Saturday Night'

A Night Out @ NIDA – NIDA 3rd Year’s Showcase

I do love NIDA & fuck they are hot!

This was an exceptional year with some great acting, a bit of singing and some very attractive males & females on the stage.

NIDA continues to deliver the goods and again I think we will be seeing these young achievers on a stage near you soon!

Film Freak – Paranormal Activity

This film has grossed a outrageous amount of money overseas and was clearly made on a small budget with no major stars, 4 characters featured in the entire film and the movie was based in the one set for the entire film.

The Movie was engrossing and definitely kept my attention for the entire short running time. The lack of gore always helps with a horror movie as this now is just a cheap and quick fix to the horror genre.

I liked the suspense that build over the nights leading up to the big finale and also the fact the story and film almost looked real!

I rated this and found it better viewing than the film a lot of people are comparing this to the Blair Witch Project.

This rates 3 Paranormal stars.

NIDA - Acting 2 - Music Theatre Night

What a fun night with some of our upcoming talents and people who we will definitely see at future Light the Night's or live on stage for upcoming big musical productions.

There were some real standout's in this 2nd year NIDA group.

The musical highlight was definitely "All the Jazz" from Chicago" and a number from "Legally Blonde" the musical.

Great stuff, 3 stars.

Theatre at it's Best - Page 8 - Belvoir Street

I always worry about one man shows, however there is no need to worry about this stellar performance.

David Page in Page 8 is totally inspiring, funny, touching and one million other emotion all in under 2 hours.

I haven't had this much fun in the theatre for years, I loved this show so much I could have almost seen it again the next night.

Page 8 is tops, go see it NOW!

4 and half totally amazing stars!

Light the Night 2009

A yearly tradition is usually a good thing but this year's Light the Night at the beautiful City Recital Hall seemed to be lacking something or maybe just having way too many ballads.

The usually upbeat and funny affair only had moments of humour provided by the likes of Avenue Q (we all know how I felt about this show) and Trevor Ashley doing his take on an over exposed Liza. Can she really be on another TV show to try and help her small sales in way too large venues, an email hit my inbox a little while ago, 2 for 1 to see Liza in Melbourne, Adelaide or some other city other than the FAB Sydney!

Anyway back to the show again the highlight would have to have been Lior and then he did a lovely duet with Katioe Noonan in place of Sia for his beautiful and sublime track "I'll Forget You".

The show was good and entertaining however I have enjoyed it more in the past, next year a few more up tempo numbers would definitely be a good thing!

Light the Night rates 3 Stars.

Top 5 @ 5 - Thu 22 Oct 2009

1. Amanda Blank - Something Bigger, Something Better
2. La Roux - Colourless Colour
3. Sarah Blasko - Hold on My Heart
4. Janet Jackson - Make me
5. Dizzee Rascal - Dirtee Ca$h

Sarah Blasko @ the Enmore Theatre

OMG, what an outfit and a custom change! Oh dear, move over Kylie Sarah Blasko is coming through.

Sarah Blasko has now released three full length releases and has had several radio hits and is now moving into new territory, commercial success with her third record "As Day follows Night".
The album was played in full in this superb setting. All the hits were there "All I Want", "No Turning Back" and "We Won't Run"."Hold on my Heart" was a hug personal highlight. She then stepped into cover mode for two of her fav film songs.

She then changed and got into some old favourites, which impressed the crowd and showed how far she has come.

All I can say is this girl she do very well at the ARIA's this year and her album will only continue to shine with great tracks and great songwriting.

Sarah Blasko is a class act and is showing she is definitely top of the pops, 4 stars.

A Night @ the Theatre - The Only Child

A fine, dramatic and full on nude production featuring both sexes showing their bits!
I loved the drama and the aggression between the two main characters, husband and wife have their only child, their slightly deformed son missing.

As the play unravels, so does their relationship. The play breaks down their fragile relationship and at times it almost completely comes undone. This play is awesome in showing who relationships under stress can so quickly fade away.

I loved the acting the setting (largely in a bathroom of the couple's house) and the raw (not the nude bits) emotion in this play.

The Only Child was drama at it's best, another top production @ Belvoir St, 3 and half stars.

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

The Lovely Lisa Mitchell @ the Metro Theatre, Sydney

How far has this young lass come since the shaky days of Australian Idol.

Her album Wonder has definitely been one of the highlight CD's of 2009, as it has definitely been a year for the ladies (see Sarah Blasko, Kate Miller Heidke, Sia and the list goes on...). There is so much good stuff on the album and she definitely didn't disappoint live, tracks like "So Jealous", "Red Wine Lips" & "Coin Laundry" all sounded dreamy.

The only issue was the predictable encore, gosh encores have become extremely dull, if an artist hasn't done their most popular number!

Overall the crowd loved her set and from young to the grey haired set their everyone swayed along and seemed to enjoy the beautiful music by Lisa Mitchell!

Lisa Mitchell rates a lovely and engaging 4 stars.

Top 5 @ 5 - Fri 2 Oct 2009

1. La Roux - Colourless Colour
2. Dizzee Rascal - Dirtee Ca$h
3. The Bloody Beetroots - Room No 84
4. Illy - Pcitures
5. The Phenomenal Hand Clap Band - 15 to 20

LA Roux @ the Enmore Theatre 29.9.09

After producing on of the top dance hits of 2009 with "Bulletproof" and a promising debut single "Quicksand", LA Roux has got on the festival and tour circuit.

With a three piece band of sorts La Roux burst onto then stage singing "Tigerlily" a fine cut from the album and went through the majority of tracks from her debut self titled disc.

A good performance, good hair and a hot crowd! Parklife on Saturday here she comes :)

La Roux rates a La Dance worthy 3 and half stars.

A Matinee @ the Theatre - Gethsme

FAB, one word, FAB

This play was simply terrific, the acting was amazing especially young Emily Barclay in her debut on the small stage.

The political drama that was Gethsme is well worth a look at this stylish, smart and clever cast & well written play by David Hare.

A top production and a much improved outing after the god awful FAME. 4 politically driven stars.

Film Frak - Fame (is LAME!!!)

WTF is all I can say!

Why remake everything? Is it really necessary, have we become that mundane we have to use only old ideas, cover old shit songs?

The movie in a few words is "a complete mess", we follow a few totally uninteresting characters have highly predictive outcomes.

Really if you want dance hire "Step Up 2 The Streets", if you want singing go check out a local band do a live gig, this film blows, half a star.

Film Freak - Up

Well I must say I usually hate kids films but this one struck a note, this film deals with the lonesome film of loss and loneliness, for the kids though the main theme maybe adventure, which is still in there.

I loved this film and even more so in 3D! The film was terrific with it's images, it's themes and it's characters, the two main characters were extremely delightful to watch and there interaction with each other reasonable the interaction between Clint Eastwood and the young kid next door in Gran Tarino.

Up is basically a children's version of Gran Tarino without the violence and swearing, and also all those racist remarks from Clint Eastwood.
The movie rates really high with me and gets a Up there 3 and half stars.

Little Birdy @ Enmore Theatre

I loved this band the first time I heard the opening 5 seconds of Relapse all those years ago now.
The Red Riders were the support for this one and I really thought there weren't that impressive live.

The difference between Little Birdy and the Red Riders was so great it was almost embarrassing for them. Little Birdy are one of the tightest live acts I have seen in a long time.

The started their set and just went for gold. The set (as most times I have seen them) was like a greatest hits gig, hits from all three albums and a tidy cover version in the encore were all present.

Little Birdy really rate and I predict three or four months out "Brother" will be a top 10 hit in the Hottest 100 of the year.

Comign Soon....

Reviews live and direct from the Little Birdy gig @ the Enmore!

More top 5's and my year in review

Top 5 @ 5 - Thu 17 Sep 2009

Hasn't been one of these for a while:

1. Calvin Harris - The Rain (For his part-tastic new disc "Ready for the Weekend")
2. Beni - Maximus (Featuring one hit Aussie Wonder Sam Sparro)
3. Simian Mobile Disco - Cruel Intentions (Featuring the FAB Beth Ditto)
4. Illy - Picturezs (Great Aussie hip Hop crew)
5. Gully Platoon - Coat of Paint (Great Aussie Hip Hop super group lead by Pegz)

Film Freak - My Sisters Keeper

Well a much different pace from "500 Days of Summer". The story of a family battling one of life's challenges and most heart breaking issues, a sick child.

The story was very good however the use of music to portray emotions and simplify the battles the family encountered was a little annoying at times, as there was about 5 lazy montages.

Cameron Diaz was bearable in the first role I have liked her in for years.

My Sisters Keeper was heartbreaking, emotional, touching and honest but definitely not for those who will need boxes and boxes of tissues.

My Sisters Keeper rates a solid three stars

Film Freak - 500 Days of Summer

Three words, AWESOME, AWESOME & AWESOME

This movie has it all, a hot lead Joseph Gordon Levitt (just dreamy mmmmmm), great music (The Temper Trap, Wolfmother & more!) and a great witty script.

I loved this movie from the opening credits and it just got better.

A love story from a boys perspective and a girl who is just not that into you (so much better than he's just not that into you - worst ROM COM of 2009).

The movie was just such a joy to watch I found myself smiling from ear to ear and then at the point of tears.

I can't say enough good things about this indie American smash hit, 5 and a half stars!

Avenue Q-Less

I have been waiting to post a BLOG about a MEGA Hype and here it is, this musical has received some much (undeserved) hype it's not funny!

I file this under show for 15 year old who still think porn is naughty and farts are funny.

I never liked Sesame Street and I thought this was a tad lame in parts and some of the songs were simply boring. Again could have been one act, I still wouldn't have laughed once nor found anything about this enjoyable.

The thought of leaving at interval started about 3 minutes into the show however when you are two rows from the front this is just rude, four rows back however would have been completely acceptable.

I cannot believe I and only a few others have not enjoyed this musical as the only thing I liked was the set.

Anyway you may like it if your a 15 year old boy with heaps of zits and gets a woody at the thought of puppets rooting.

Half a washed up Muppet star

Lonesome West - a night @ the Theatre

Well another great little downstairs play featuring the super sexy Ryan Johnson and the lovely Sybilla Budd.

The Irish play about two crazy brothers and the lose of their father (well one of them killed him but hey, it's a black Comedy).

The play was well done and very well acted. The interval kinda broke things up as I do like a one act in and out kinda play.

Lonesome West is definitely worth a look in and rates 3 stars.

Bangarra Dance Company – Fire

YAY I love Bangarra and I love dance! But not so you think you can dance I much preferred Dance Your Ass Off, with the rejects from the Biggest Becky Losers. Anyway I got distracted by Big Losers doing Booty drops, HOT!

Anyhow this show was amazing and showed some very diverse performances with an amazing original score and a showcase of what the kids at Bangarra have been doing for the past 20 years.

Bangarra dance show a social commentary and also showcase a very diverse way of expressing dance including some very fab moves including a soapy surface.

Bangarra dance – Fire a Retrospective rates a fiery 4 stars.

Film Freak - Inglorious Basterds

Quentin Tarrentino is doing the rounds hardcore for this film and rightfully so, it’s good but not great! Brad Pitt is solid as a Nazi hating and hunting American with a very unfortunate scar around his neck (which is strangely never explored). Some of the scenes in this film are terrifyingly long! The dialogue seems to go on and on and you think something is going to happen but NAH!

The film is good, the action is great, the violence is extremely violent and the cast is super!

In a year or so where there has been a pile of WW2 films this one is not unique or by any means the best but still well worth a shot.

This film rates a glorious 3 stars

Film Freak – Public Enemies

Johnny Depp & Christian Bale, how can you go wrong? These guys are definitely adorable!

The film is a decent action/gangster film with good action sequences and some very good acting.

Public Enemies is fun, action packed and a good perve if you like either Johnny or Christian, it rates three fierce stars.

Film Freak – Beautiful Kate

Another Aussie film about a prodigal son returning back home to his fucked up family, well kinda. This well acted and beautiful film (as per the title) is an interesting drama which almost border lines on a well done Aussie Thriller. Rachel Griffiths is simply fantastic as the most stable character in this film and also great to see her doing some in the Aussie Film industry after a run of US TV shows (Six Feet Under & Brothers & Sisters).

The movie is heart breaking and at times challenging to watch however it definitely deserves a viewing and let me tell you, you need an open mind coming into this film.

Beautiful Kate while beautiful also shows us the ugly side of humanity and also the pains felt by some many families when there deepest secrets are uncovered, 3 beautiful shining stars.

Film Freak - Orphan

What is it with scary movies featuring Children and the words Orphan or Orphanage in it. The Orphanage was a terrific Spanish film from a few years ago and this film is no different it is a terrific horror/more thriller film featuring one fucked up young girl.

Well the movie itself is almost like every horror/thriller, it builds up suspension and builds the characters up and then all hell (literally) breaks loose!

This show has a terrific twist at the end that even though I was aware there was a twist I didn't see this coming!

Orphan is a solid thriller and doesn't go too nuts with the gore factor! I loved this and really got right into the thrills.

It rates 4 creepy kiddy stars.

STC - Once & For All Were Gonna Tell You Who We Are So Shut Up & Listen

Well last time I went out to check out a STC play I was sorely disappointed, however this interesting and high energy piece of theatre was definitely something you need to see to believe.

It is definitely something words can not sum up. I urge everyone to see it before it ends at the end of August.

If you liked Skins and you like music to match moods check this out it's outstanding! 4 and a half stars

Film Freak - GI JOE

I used to absolutely love GI Joe toys as a child, they were simply one of my favourite things growing up, however the idea of a toy turning into a movie, well.

It did work for fellow Hasbro toy Transformers however GI Joe failed to reach this level of action and excitement on the screen.

The story was fairly lame however the action was simply awesome once it kicked in.

The cast was also fairly impressive however after reading numerous bad reviews and hearing everyone else bad this picture I think a sequel is completely out of the question.

The story was it's main fault and the dodgy back stories of some of the characters was at times extremely predictable and quiet lame.

GI JOE rates an all American 2 and half stars

Top 5 @ 5 - Thurs 20 August 2009

1. Ducksauce - Anyway
2. Lisa Mitchell - Red Wine Lips
3. Akon's smash - Sexy Bitch
4. Dizzee Rascal - Holiday
5. Amanda Blank - Make it Take It (and other cuts from her solo debut)

Thom Pain (A Story about Nothing) - Belvoir Street (Downstairs)

The idea of a one man play may really not interest everyone but this young man in this play did a seriously good job of keeping the crowd interested and amused.

It was a fairly star studded audience with two Underbelly cast members enjoying a few laughs and watching a much different play to the stories they have been used to.

Thom Pain has unfortunately not finished but it was truly a good story.

A one man play can really rate quiet highly in my books and gets three solid stars.

Film Freak - Adam

This was one of the most delightful films I have seen all year!

Rose Byrne was simply outstanding! To be honest all roles were outstanding and this film maybe could be classed a chick flick but it so touching and some adorable.

Adam is the tale of a late 20's man who has just lost his father who he lived with and he also suffers from Aspergers Syndrome.

He befriends the beautiful Rose Byrne when she moves into his New York building and there they build a beautiful friendship.

The movie is so adorable and definitely one of the most romantic pieces and understanding films I have seen in a long time.

Adam rates a warm and fuzzy 4 stars.

The Promise - Belvoir Street

Now I have seen a lot at Belvoir St this year and everything up until now has been
simply superb, however this was another story.

Set in the cold war in Russia (less the accents) that revolves around 3 people involved in(meant to be a serious love triangle). However I never felt any love nor did feel the actors ever really cared that much for each other.

The revolving stage added a nice effect but after the two intervals and three acts it got slightly annoying. The two intervals also really started to become frustrating as the play itself annoyed me so much. Each time you would leave for another break you really wanted to just run out the doors.

I know this might sound harsh but the play really did not excite me and I unfortunately only have to give it a half cold star.

Film Freak - Cedar Boys

Like this year's The Combination this film takes on the Western Suburbs and the whole Sydney battle of East V West.

The Movie has a lot of different little stories pumped into the one movie. The drugs, the relationships and the family story.

I did enjoy this story a lot however I think it came a little too soon after the Combination but still a great little Aussie tale.

Cedar Boys rates a solid 3 stars.

Top 5 @ 5 – Tue 4 Aug 2009

1. Kid Sister – Right Hand Hi
2. Deadmau5 – I remember
3. Florence & the Machine – You got the Love
4. Major Lazer – When You Hear the Bassline
5. Philadelphia Grand Jury – I’m Going to Kill You

Helpmann Awards 2009 – Sydney Opera House

All I can say was this was way too damn long! However with lovely performances by the cast of Wicked, Chicago and an outstanding performance from Kate Miller Heidke there were times were this went at a good pace.

This was my third Helpmann Awards and hopefully my last, as I really need as many hours back in my life as possible!

The Helpmann Awards rates a lonesome 1 star.

Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk– Downstairs – Belvoir St

Featuring the highly sexy Conrad Colby less his shirt in a couple of scenes OOOOOOHHHHHH, this play was an amazing little piece which took the role of Macbeth and put a chick in his place.

I loved every part of this clever and interesting play, especially the dramatic ending.

Lady Macbeth rates a very saucy and fiery 4 stars.

Chicago – Take Two – Lyric Theatre

I had already seen this a few months ago and did enjoy it however I really enjoyed this show a lot more the second time even without the apparent star of the show Caroline O Conner. Her understudy was pretty terrific and I do really like Sharon Millerchip.

The back up dancers again proved amazing eye candy (and being only 6 rows from the front it was a nice view of some nice buns!) and Gina Riley basically just played Kim again.

I did enjoy the songs again particularly the BIG numbers however I still hate the interaction with the orchestra.

Chicago rates a racy 3 stars.

The Jungle – Darlinghurst Theatre

A very cute small theatre with some former FAB NIDA grads and a very gritty play linking together the lives of some very different and very exciting characters.

The play was a little long with the first act being around the 2 hour and then a second act only taking up another hour of my life. Don’t get me wrong the play kept me entertained for the full three hours however I think some strict editing would not have gone astray.

The Jungle was gritty and involved the audience quite well, 2 and half stars.

Film Freak – The Proposal

OMG the ROM COM genre LOL

This movie could have gone either way and really Sandra Bullock hasn’t made a good film since the NET. Ryan Reynolds however is just a dish so basically anything he is in is a real winner as far as I am concerned!

The movie is pretty predictable guy has a cunt for a boss, Sandra Bullock AKA the Cunt becomes slightly bearable, then they like totally hook up!

So basically Ryan Reynolds less shirt equals fairly good film, however the story is quiet lame but cute in parts, not for anyone looking for a thought provoking night out.

The Proposal rates 2 and a half ROM COM stars.

Musicals Galore in Melboring

Well Melbourne is definitely the place to go if your a musical lover! Showcasing three major musicals at present, Avenue Q, Jersey Boys & Wicked. All three are very different however all very exciting to have in the city which you will apparently love every piece of.

I managed to jam Jersey Boys and Wicked into one weekend, first review of the rank was Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. I didn’t really think I would like this one but it really surprised me and some of the talent in this show was simply amazing.

The sets were very simple however effective, the mostly geriatric crowd went sick! The oldies mobbed the boys after the show and some even had their tits signed! Much to their husbands (or were they gigolos) disgust.

Jersey was a fun, light hearted & very entertaining piece of musical theatre which people who don’t usually like this genre would enjoy this. The band were top notch and the show really has a lot of life in it and rates 3 and a half rockin’ stars.

Now to Wicked which I saw around a year ago with the dear Rob Guest (RIP), now replaced by the weakest link Bert Newton, Rob Mills was also out (thank god) and his understudy is simply divine Michael Snell who was simply delicious in Miss Saigon a little while back.

Also out was Amanda Harrison and Anthony Callea since the last time I saw it. The show has developed into a masterpiece and really is one of the best musicals I have ever seen. The show and production is simply flawless the customs, the great score and the songs is just sublime.

Wicked rates a truly wicked 4 stars!

Top 5 @ 5: Thu 16 July 2009

Aussie Music Edition!

1. The Hilltop Hoods - The Light You Burned
2. Paul Dempsey - Ramona Was a Waitress/Bette Davis Eyes Cover
3. Sarah Blasko - We Won't Run
4. Philadelphia Grand Jury - I'M Going To Kill You
5. Low Budget - Tailor Made

Film Freak - Sunshine Cleaning

No this is no Little Miss Sunshine sequel, but there is some features which are very similar including fucked up kids.

I really enjoyed this film, even though there were really bleak moments and moments where you just wanted to scream at the characters. However this movie showed real emotion and real people, and that's rare in an American film.

The film touched me in all the right places and rates 4 very clean stars.

Film Freak - Every Little Step

I do love a doco and especially one about a major musical, the re-vamp of Broadway's monster hit, "A Chorus Line". This is a good insight into the gruelling audition process and also how hard you have to work to get to the top and basically stay there.

I have never seen the musical but fiends say it's FAB and yes most of these were gays who love the word FAB!

The Movie is shot well and you really relate to the main people in the film which is great, you see their highs and their lows.

Great doco and nice story, 4 stars for these toe tapping all singing all dancing number.

Film Freak - Bruno

Well do believe the hype on this one, it is simply a laugh a sketch with Bruno and his antics!

Americans have never looked my stupid and in my mind backwards to the whole frightening homosexual movement!

Bruno will definitely not be every one's cup of tea (especially the majority of Nana's who sit down with a cup of tea and enjoy a good ear full of Alan Jones), but he definitely gave me a few screams!

Bruno rates 4 hot pants stars

Whore @ Company B

Another downstairs play at the lovely Company B!

A play about Aussie's travelling abroad and selling themselves can be both confronting and extremely enjoyable. Especially when a serial killer is thrown in the equation.

The cast (mainly the two mains) were terrific! The set was extremely effective and the tension the play created was also terrific.

The title might have turned people off but the show was pretty fantastic! Whore rates 3 stars.

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Film Freak - Transformers 2

Well I only watched the first Transformers film a little while back and thought besides it being way too long for an action film this was actually not such a bad film especially Shia LaBouf (Delicious!)!

The second film picks off where the first one left it (and no doubt there will be a a third one in the pipeline) and carries the story quiet well.

The action sequences in this film are done so well with the sound effects and soundtrack working extremely well to create a full on experience for the viewer.

Overall this movie packs a lot of action and some mildly amusing comedy into one of Winter's biggest blockbusters!

Transformers rates a big robotic 3 stars.

Film Freak - I Love You Man

See my previous review of "The Hangover" for the best Bro-Mance movie of 2009

Now to this film, Paul Rudd is slightly adorable and always manages to make me have a soft spot for him as he has an adorable smile and quiet dreamy eyes.

Onto the movie and not Paul Rudd, this movie like the Hangover also makes all the females out to be complete bitches!

This film shows you the struggles men have finding another men friends.

I did enjoy this take on the romantic comedy genre which has been done to death and really pisses me off, see reviews such as "He is Just Not That Into You" EHHHHHH terrible film!

I Love You Man rates a fairly gay 2 and a half stars

Film Freak - State of Play

Go Russell Crowe, the first movie I have seen you in and not thought you were a complete tosser!

This film was tight with a good engrossing story line and strong performances from the main roles including Russell Crowe.

Not a must see on the BIG screen but still one I would get out when it hits the DVD store, State of Play rates a solid 3 and a half stars.

Film Freak - The Hangover

No expectations can be a good thing these days, and that's what I had for this movie and
let me tell you I ended up laughing so much it hurt at times!

This film followed four men (all from different walks of life) and there bacheolr party in
Sin City (Las Vegas) including the night out where all the dramas unfoled! And boy was
there drama!

Great movie and cast (some of which you will be seeing a lot more of).

Make sure you do catch this Hollywood comedy as it is actually well worth a look.

4 stars for a very drunken Hangover that leaves you laughing so much you actually think
you are pissed.

Rueben Gutherie

Another night at the Theatre and a much different story to Steel Magnolia's.
Writtern by the wonderfrul Brendan Cowell.

The play also features a well known Underbelly actor whicgh always helps the bums on seats
factor!

The play is tops and really is relevenat to today's working and non-working environment
including the pressures to succeed and also perform if it means costing you everything!
Great play and a great time to be showing this play, also like the 6:30pm nana time on
Tuesday!

5 stars for this Cowell masterpiece!

Steel Magnolia's

I have never seen the movie and went in knowing little about the story and kinda like
doing this when seeing a show which was orginally a movie.

The cast is amazing especially the FAB Jackie Weaver! She is just dreamy and so over the
top, I love her!

The story itself was heartfelt and very emotional espically the man yesterday, dude get
some klennex.

Ths show is running until the end of June and I loved it!

Steel Magnolia's rates a tear jerking 4 stars!

Burn da Floor

Well I saw this show a year ago and loved it! This year the show moved to the Theatre
Royal and was extremely well polished!

The dancers and dance routines were mostly the same hoever the way they used the space
they were given should have been admired!

I do always love a dance show and I love hearing old ladies say "that just exhausted me at
the end".

Burn the Floor burned up a storm with the oldies at this matinee performance and rates 4
stars!

Dinner & Show meets Cruise Ship Entertainment

Chi Chi & Cha Cha
Slide Nightclub – Wed 3 June 2009

Well I do love a dinner & show particularly when the show is so funny you nearly wet your panties!

So what happens when two cruise ship entertainers enter onto Dry Land and wear extremely exciting costumes? Well they sing crazy cover songs and interact with the crowd in a very interesting and slightly unusual manner!

The show is FAB and the food even more so!
Differently a top night out, especially when comedy is so in demand at the moment and if you’re a foodie you will love this treat!

Make sure you check out this hoot of a night out, 5 stars!

I lost my shit on Friday & Saturday Nite (literally)

Well for those who know me know I don’t drink a lot and when I do it’s a little wild, and this is exactly what happened on Friday night, I feel sorry for my workmates who had to put up with my performance and rampage on Sydney’s homosexual neighborhood!

The finale to May 2009 continued on Saturday night where I lost my shit on the dance floor to the one and only Presets!

I caught most of the FAB Architecture in Helsinki set which was so much fun, hit’s like “Heart it Races” (who my friend thought the lyrics were “You’re a Racist”) and “That Beep” were tops! They also threw into the mix a cover of Womack & Womack “Teardrops” an old disco fav!

Then the Presets came on Stage to a massive sold out response! They played through all their hits like “Talk Like That”, “My People”, a new version “If I Know You” and more it was a truly amazing experience and really proved those two men are definitely still on top of the Aussie dance scene!

The Presets and my shit loosing weekend rates 5 stars YAY!

A Night @ at the Theatre - Beyond the Neck

This was a truly touching piece of theatre and featured the former Country Practice child star Jamie Croft who still looked the same!

The play was about one of the most horrible events in Australian history the Port Arthur Massacre. The Play was performed in quiet an eerie manner and the scene where the theatre went completely black and the only thing you heard was the four actors was a truly terrifying experience.

The piece was terrific and I enjoyed the full hour, this rates 4 touching stars

Dear David Gallop

Dear David Gallop,

Mate! Well the NRL has had a rough few weeks and I think it's time people forget the bad i.e. the Sharks racial slur, how unattractive some of the girls chasing the League players are and pub brawls and focus on the positive sides of the game i.e. Craig Wing, Issac Luke and the entire South Sydney Rabbits team.

I feel they should be given back the money they were asked to pay after breaching their salary cap as basically you just need to look at these boys and the requirements:

1. Waxing
2. Personal Trainers
3. Sexual and Non Sexual Massages (I personally apply for the sexual massage position Rusty Crowes Feet)

This team is so lovable and deserves full praise for avoiding sex scandals and public urination and I would like to change this. I am putting myself up for a South's Sydney sex Scandal if they require one for more press, as I feel I am the only slapper in Sydney who has managed to avoid an NRL style sex scandal.

You don't need to waste airfares to NZ (I am in there neck of the woods), I will not turn around 7 years later on the ABC's Four Corners program and I will definitely not ask for money to cover this up as I will be filming and enjoying the whole experience.

If you would like to line this up for me I would be most grateful.

Keep the dream real mate!

Regards,

Andrew

A Night full of Musical Theatre - Chicago

Chicago

Lyric Theatre, Star City

Sat 23 May 2009

Well the men and dancers in the show are definitely the best part, especially the sexy Daniel Slater:

Now to the show, the songs were great, the set was average, Gina Riley was average, Craig McLachlan was awful & Caroline O'Connor was just bliss to watch!

The show was basically one sexy romp which is great!

The show becomes a little tired in the second act but is definitely a lot better than the film (as I hate musicals on film, remember Dream on Girls!).

Chicago rates a Jazz Hands three stars!

The Woeful World of Dissocia

The Wonderful World Of Dissocia - Sydney Theatre
Fri 22 May 2009

Well as you can tell by my title I renamed this show to a more fitting title the Woeful World of Dissocia!

This show was colourful and extremely weird in the first act and then bleak, colourless and almost liking taking a Valium and feeling your entire body lose all senses, all feeling and basically lose the ability to shit or piss.

This show was on par with how awful Sydney Theatre's "Convicts Opera" was last year EEEEHHHHHH I am still recovering from that experience.

Another show (Jerry Springer - Nathan Foley) with a children's entertainer this time Justine Clarke is on stage swearing and trying her hand at an adult roll, and let's just say I felt like the person who wrote this may have watched too much Play School.

This show really has made me question how FAB I think Cate Blanchett actually is!

The show rates a woeful 1 star.

Bowled over by Shane Warne the Musical

Wed May 20 - Enmore Theatre

Well the big night arrived and so did the stars from television's Underbelly & more ABC stars than what have graduated at Summer Heights High.

The Show itself was actually really enjoyable, the first act was very amusing however the second act seemed a little long in parts but the Bollywood number definitely was a crowd pleaser!

Overall Eddie Perfect with his shirt off was a little off putting in parts but he is a musical genesis.

Shane Warne the Musical is running for the next few weeks at the Enmore theatre and is definitely worth a look in if you like a few rude words and a good laugh.

Warnie rates a very Australian 3 stars.

What the Frock!

GO the BUNNIES

Beating the Tigers 23-22 @ the SCG, fucking top shit mo flipper!

Little Birdy hit all the right notes

Little Birdy, Metro Theatre Wed 13 May 2009

Their new album Confetti has just dropped and by all accounts it's up there as one of the best Aussie albums of 09!

Little Birdy followed a band who I can't seem to make my mind up about, Oh Mercy from Melbourne.

Katy came out and belted out their radio favourite (and personally one of my songs of 09) "Brother". The blazed through all three albums playing hits like ":Come On Come On", "Bodies", "Relapse" & More.

The set was terrific and so were the new tracks!

This really could be Little Birdy's year to shine!

Definitely a band to watch and definitely a tip for the 2009 ARIA Awards if and when they are on.

Little Birdy rates a Tweetiffic 4 stars!

Film Freak - Defiance

Nazi's are invading the cinema's literally WTF!!!!

Daniel Craig's new flick is a true story of life during the war and yes about the holocaust.

The film mixes action, drama and the horror of the war well in this 137 minute war picture.

Edward Zwicko directed the fine Blood Diamond and The Last Samurai and really seems to be quite the decent director, he could however have allowed Daniel Craig to take his shirt off a little more!

The film was great however a little long (films should be a max of 90 minutes please!). Defiance rates a defiant 3 stars.

An Open Letter to Hugh Jackman

Dear Hugh Jackman,

I was a huge fan of yours back when films like Paperback Hero, Swordfish and appearances on various Australian television.

However recently I have been quiet disappointed particularly in Australia the movie, I have not yet seen the film however Nicole Kidman is known to give me extreme nightmares resulting in bed wetting (not a good habit at 26 years of age).

I also sat through Wolverine over the weekend which was quiet disturbing and I still really don't know what the point of this film was.

I was also wondering how you got so many muscles and know for a fact if you waxed your chest and lower adomin your body would look much more defined.

I would really like to see you to return to form or maybe join Russell Crowe in keeping the almighty South Sydney Rabbitohs afloat.

I wish you all the best in the future and hop my next letter to you will be more positive.

Regards and best wishes,

Andrew

Bottom 5 @ 5 - Tue 5 May 2009

Hi Guys,

Usually I give you my top 5 tunes of the week however this week there is a huge pile of crap in the charts and here is in my mind 5 of the worst:

1. Flo Rida - Right Round (Dead or Alive beat your heart out, this is simply embarrassing)
2. Beyonce - Halo (EEEEEHHHHHH Beyonce your ballads SUCK!)
3. 3OH3!- Don't Trust Me (WTF? Is this for real?)
4. Nickelback - I'd Come For You (It's kinda a song I would sing to Craig Wing but still not my cup of tea)
5. Wes Carr - Feels Like Woah (Will Wes Carr win an ARIA in 2009, NO)

Comedy Festival 09 - Sugar Sammy

Wow I was actually really excited about seeing this guy, and he didn't disappoint!

He was very amusing both bashes Penrith & Parramatta LOL post code comedy is so amusing!

He paid out on the white folk, the ladies and the coloured peoples in the crowd, literally no one was safe.

He did however get to a point of the show where he seemed to lose his place but other than that this was a highly entertaining hour with plenty of filthy language and sex talk (my type of guy).

He did Canada proud and rates a sugar filled four stars.

Comedy Festival 09 - Danny Bhoy

I never was much of a comedy fan until now and I must say I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought.

Danny Bhoy was in fine form after a massive regional Australian tour.

He came out with some good local cracks and some very fine story telling.

He is also not too bad looking which always heaps when there is only one person on stage.

Danny Bhoy made me laugh and really was a good Tuesday night surprise.

Danny BHOY rates a surprising 3 and a half stars

Bunnies Tonight!

OMG so tonight my little hot Bunnies take on Cronulla (riotsville) Sharks and I am definitely going to be out there cheering them on! So come on get behind my sexy Bunnies, SOUTH SYDNEY!

Stomp 09 - Theatre Royal, Sydney

OMG so every review today starts with OMG!

I have little expectations with this show but was seriously surprised at how fab it was! The dancing was great, the choreography was simply amazing and the crowd just literally lapped it up BIG time!

I was completely entertained for the full hour 40 minutes of this show, and the men, well it didn't hurt that they were delicious!

Stomp rates a non garbage 4 stars!

Jerry Springer the Opera

OMG so there is a heap of hype for this production and staring one of Australia's most loved actors David Wenham (he was in Australia but don't hold that against him).

Now this show begins as the show usually does on the Telly however people come in singing in lovely opera voices.

Now don't get me wrong but Nathan from Hi-5 playing some trailer trash studio audience member really didn't work for me.

The second act took a weird turn to hell (literally) and kind of lost me with all the religious rambles.

There is also a huge language warning with this production which kinda wears thin around 10 minutes in.

The show had funny moments but definitely not as many as I was expecting, the show itself was at times very odd and I often sat there thinking what the hell was going on when someone thought hey Jerry Springer, there is a good idea for a musical?

The show rates a trashy 2 stars.
