Every Breath - Opening Night

Oh boy, what makes a bad play?

1. Weird Ass Storyline?
2. Technical dramas?
3. Random nude scenes and simulated sex scenes interupted by above technical dramas?
4. Scenes that last for 2 minutes then a terrible soundtrack comes on which is so bad listening to the entire One Direction would be a more pleasurable treat.

Okay so Every Breath contains all of the above, the soundtrack at times was horrid, the technical difficulty was awful and you just heard whispers like "When will this end", "Can we leave now?".

Oh dear, not a good night for Writer and Director Benedict Andrews and his cast including John Howard (no not that John Howard).

The story was strange, the acting good considering the dialogue and drama they had to play out.

Overall it was a little bit of a mess, thank god for the good food after the fact the show finally ended.

I can only be generous enough to give this one star. It plays in the Upstairs Theatre till 29 April 2012.

@ the Movies 2012 - John Carter {2D}

So is this movie as bad as everyone says, well no... It's been a blockbuster flop and made nowhere near as much as it should have for Disney but hey, the dreamy Taylor Kitsch is in at and as below he is so easy to watch:

The action scenes in this film are awesome, however it is too long and it plays out a tad confusing in parts and we all know action films should just be straight to the point and not getting all Inception on our arse!

John Carter, based largely on Mars takes a while to set up the story but once it gets in it's all good.

The length and the storyline are a little off putting however Taylor Kitsch is great in this role and a real natural in front of the camera. His efforts in Friday Night Lights were good however I see him as a contender for more upcoming action/fantasy roles.

John Carter, don't belive the negative reviews, take it for what it is 2 hours of mind numbing fun, where you leave your brain at the door.

John Carter rates 3 spunky stars.

@ the Movies 2012 - 21 Jump Street {Gold Class Experience}

Thanks first to my Uncle Mick for my night out, your a good man :)

So when I saw this preview a number of times I was SO excited about finally seeing this film, and gosh damn it, why do they always put the best parts in the trailer and why does this always ruin the film.

See the below ruining trailer below:

So why do the major film distributors do this, yes it sucked me into see the film, but then I left feeling jaded.

Look it's not a bad film, genetics is definately good in the Franco family as James Franco's bro Dave Franco is a dream boat. Ice Cube says about 90 F bombs mainly with Mother attached. Which is funny for the first five times but after 20 I felt like I was 15 again.

Even one of my Fav musicians makes a like cameo, look out for Rye Rye as Jr. Jr.

Johnny Depp also makes a bloody cameo.

So overall this isn't the worst aimed at teenagers comedy I have ever seen, it just doesn't live up to the hype.

A sequel is apparently in the works, so look out for round two when Channing Tatum & Jonah Hill go to Uni, good grief.

21 Jump Street rates 2.5 mother fuckin' Ice Cube stars.

An open letter to Ms Penny Wong

Dear Penny (Can I call you Penny?) or Ms Wong,

Hi how are you? So you don't know me but I love you and I did so even before I saw your episode of Kitchen Cabinet. However after I watched Kitchen Cabinet on the fab ABC2 (maybe you can give the ABC some more cash too, they do a much better job than any other media at this late stage) and I just fell for you, not in love as I have an awesome boyfriend and well you have a girlfriend, but you are just the bee's knees.

I was so touched by your story about your brother Toby I was actually a big old girl and nearly started crying (not that being a girl is a bad thing), but then the way you carried yourself and spoke so well, I thought man (well not man but you know) this woman is amazing, she is a role model and someone so positive for gays, lesbians, young women and almost anyne to look up to.

The way you speak on Q&A and on this particular program is nothing short of amazing, I hate public speaking and if your keen I would love some lessons from someone as well composed and as brillant as you.

Your intelligence and thought provoking statements and knowledge of a wide range of topics is something you definately have over that vile man Tony Abbott. You know Labour has a chance at this next election mainly cause of him, no one likes Tony Abbott, even major Liberal voters.

Anyway stuff him back to you, so next Monday is my last day off before I start working again and I am totally excited about seeing John Carter at Broadway Shops Hoyts as it's like the $10 movie of the week and so you keen? I know it's a long wayt from the nation's capital or Radelaide (and speaking of that Chippendale would totally love to have you in the neighbourhood, we do love our Tanya Plibersek but I kinda like you a lot more) but yeah you in?

Would love to talk to you about the horrors of school yards as like you I was very different to everyone at my Central Coast school by coming out very every and the whole school knowing in record time (and this was before sit on my Facebook).

Anyway Penny I heart you hardcore, you rock, keep being amazing and you also make a fully sick Mum too, I am so jealous of that kid I would do anything to have you as a mummy.

Right oh, have a nice wekeend and hopefully I will see you at the movies on Monday.

Peace Out xoxo

Randy Andy

Data Entry and loads of music makes my ears go..

Boom... Boom... Boom....

And here's what I have found over the past three days:

1. Amy Winehouse's after death album -Lioness Hidden Treasures, really was a mini treasure with her having simply a voice of an angel and now well she very well maybe an angel.

2. Loved Ani Di Franco's old stuff but her new stuff kinda sux big balls.

3. Estelle's last album "All of Me" is kinda not really that much of her cause it's stuffed full of really shit interludes.

4. Feist was one of the worst concerts I have recently been to and i could have definately have saved some time if I had listened to the whole "Metals" album, it is just terrible, how can such a great song like "How Come You Never Go There" be sandwhiched between some truly pitaful tunes.

5. Kina Grannis has a lovely smooth voice.

6. Marcus Collins showed that after the the UK X Factor sometimes things can go a little wrong, like putting two covers on an already lackluster album, on the other hand Rebecca Ferguson's debut is just dishy.

7. New EP's by Julia Stone and new comers Twinsy are mighty fine and from Matt Corby's "Into the Flame" EP, "Brother" is definately the best cut.

Now for the best mash up of the week, DIG THIS!

Tomorrow, well hopefully my open letter to Ms Penny Wong.

Carriageworks - The Table of Knowledge

Runs until the 24th of March.

Local councils, sex scandals, dodgy developers, all in Wollongong who would have thought? I knew nothing of this true story and tangled web that all occured on Sydney's door step the GONG!

Enjoyable and different way to run a show, including large lego pieces and videos.

The Table of Knowledge was a good work by these actors and for a Tuesday night performance the venue was rather full, which on a Tuesday night this is always a good thing for theatre.

Carriageworks was also a perfect venue for this as I feel this venue is under used and totally needs to get itself out there a little more.

The Table of Knowledge is definately worth seeing before it closes this weekend, so be quiet y'all, 3 corrupt and sexy stars.

@ the Movies 2012 - The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel {Preview}

- Film opens this Thursday 22nd March 2012

All i can say about this 2 hour travel through India and look into English old age is this film is sweet and interesting. Maggie Smith is wildly racist and crazy as a wild hatter and Judi Dench is just divine.

It's really quite a sweet film with life lessons and learning to live life again are all explored with humour, yes you will laugh out loud.

The film even made India a place you would want to visit. And after finally watching the mess that Eat, Pray, Love was it was good to see a travel film work out well.

Make sure you check out The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel when it opens on Thursday it is like a sweet piece opf apple pie eaten with a pair of false teeth. Just delightful, 4 stars.

@ the Movies 2012 - The Artist

- Actual Released in 2011

So I finally caught up with the film that won 5 Academy Awards and has earned a hell of a lot of hype and had a close to sell out session at Broadway shops on a Saturday night. I was however one of the only ones who didn't have grey hair LOL

So I saw a preview of this film on my recent return flight home from Bali and I really was surprised that I liked what I saw. It has an adorable dog in it and some lovable characters and boy hasn't John Goodman done well for himself recently.

The film has the highs and extreme lows of the movie business and all in next to near silence something I have never experienced before @ the Movies.

This film may or may not have deserved to win next to every award recently but it is definately arthouse and definately widely appealing.

I enjoyed the Artist a lot and could maybe even turn into a silent movie fan after this LOL

The Artist rates a solid 3.75 stars.

Coming tomorrow a preview review of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, check it out below:

@ the Movies 2012 {DOUBLE FEATURE} - Contraband & Project X

Two different movies, same day and both movies go above and beyond in different ways....

First up Contraband, so Mark Wahlberg is just splendid as always, he stars in this and is in the production team. Mark Wahlberg has continued to go up and up, he is a star and gone from modelling undies to know making sure fire blockbusters!

Other than Mark Wahlberg the stars in this movie make this remake very likable, it's a movie with a formula we have all seen before but if this is done well and when this type of movie is done well it leaves you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. The plot twists are decent and the cast play this out well and the action scenes are top notch.

Contraband is a top notch action thriller which can hold your attention for it's almost 2 hour running time.

Contrband scores a big 4 stars from me

Next up in the double feature is the controversial Project X.

Why is this controversial? Copycat parties have already occurred and you can just imagine this is every teenagers wet dream, naked chicks, weed, E, beer and sex!

Why did I love this movie, I am nor a teenager nor a straight male wanting to see pussy and tits, but this movie and it's naughty language such as "I just want to get my dick wet" in some way appeals to me.

The three main stars are so likable for various reasons and this film really is a simple concept but it is so easy to watch, laugh out loud and cringe all at once.

I do love awkward moments at the cinema and this provides millions of them.

This is a much better version than the average Chronicle from last month.

A sequel is already on the cards so get ready to be taken out for a laugh all over again in coming years, I have already thought of some sequel titles, Project XX, Project XL, Project XXX (with pussy included, not just tits) and Project HY. We will see in a couple of months if I am correct.

Now for my review, 4 stars.

More film reviews coming soon, plus some Bali photos which have been promised.

Top 4 Bali Hotels (More Bali Reviews and News Tomorrow - Sit Tight)

Equal Number 1 - Four Seasons, Jimbaran Bay

Okay so above was pretty much the room we stayed in, pictures speak a million words and this hotel was just truly sublime and lovely. Great service, great location and amazing food and surrounds, in one word DIVINE!

Equal Number 1 - Amankila, Manggis

A three tier pool and a private beach, what more can a water sign boy ask for??? A nice snorkling experience at Blue Lagoon also added to this dreamy resort. The afternoon tea is not to be missed pool side either, daily from 4pm for around an hour and the best part is that is free to guests :)

Number 2 - Amandari, Ubud

What a bathroom! Loved it and that bath is outside! AMAZING! Lovely cultural part of the Bali island, beautiful staff, lovely food. So loved my two nights here and not too mention to treehouse style room, so sweet and PS there was no TV provided, I had to ask to catch up on the American Idol Series 11.

Number 3 - Amanusa, Nusa Dua

What a pool huh?

Lovely last hotel, interesting area in Nusa Dua, Close to shopping Centre Bali Collection and also near a lovely white sand beach. Also a new Golf Course will be here in around 12 months.

Lovely breakfast spot too and beautiful spa treatments to be had here.

Around $10 (in heavy traffic) will get you to the horrid Kuta, worth a look though, great food and the awesome water park Waterbom as below.

More Bali stuff to come soon please.

2 - Skrillex - Bangarang
1 - Fun ft. Janelle Manae - We Are Young

Hope y'all enjoyed a touch of music for your Sunday night's now for a new show causing a little bit of a stir mainly for it's name, well it's former name, Good Christan Bitches. LOVE IT!

So the first episode was on the other day and episode two is tonight or tomorrow and I really enjoyed episode one, it is camp fun you would expect from Darren Star (below are his credentials, pretty trashtastic and impressive huh?) and who doesn't want some camp fun from Dallas?

2009/2010 - Melrose Place (TV series)
2009 - Niños ricos, pobres padres (TV series)
2008/ - 90210 (TV series)
2003 - Miss Match (TV series)
2000/2001 - Grosse Pointe (TV series)
1998/2004 - Sex and the City (TV series)
1995/1996 - Central Park West (TV series)
1992/1999 - Melrose Place (TV series)
1990/2000 - Beverly Hills, 90210 (TV series)

So the show, it has potential and started off well, here is hoping in the current climate of TV in the States that is sticks around for at least the full 10 episode first season and hopefully a second.

So Kristin Chenoweth is perfect in her role as Carlene Cockburn and you just must love the surname Cockburn. So check our the next promo below, I think this is a fresh fun drama that will hopefully replace the hole left in TV land after Desperate Housewives finishes up real soon.

Friday, March 9, 2012

What's Up? It's Friday & a Bali Farewell Party!

So it's Friday and the last day of the 2012 Bali trip and with my full stories and photos to come tomorrow and onwards as we head back into the Chippendale territory and get back to life that is not in five star hours with complimentary canape hours and private beaches.

Yes this trip has been 5 star luxury all the way, not the usual Aussie Bali experience that may end in prison or worse an STD.

The trip has been so memorable, the people here are just beautiful (inside and out) and the food is the real winner it is just to die for, look out gym here comes one well feed mama after this holiday.

We are now in Nusa Dua and after multiple swims yesterday and recovery from my sunburn from snorkeling the day before in Bali's Blue Lagoon it's time for a chill day before we head out on our 1am flight tomorrow AM (4 AM Sydney time) LOL

This trip has just been wonderful and I can't wait to share the pictures and my new $5 haircut with you all.

Wishing everyone a happy Friday and can't wait to see y'all again really soon, Bali belly and all :)

Here also on my way out is my new fav electro pop act:

@ the Movies 2012 - Flight Mode

With both films released in 2011 my viewing entertainment on Garuda Airlines was a sweet and enjoyable experience with the Muppets and 50/50 a movie still to come out in Australia yet in the States it's already out on DVD.

So here we go a double movie review for you, first up:

50/50 staring the lovely Joseph Gordon-Levitt (man he just gets better looking with age and he so picks the best movies for himself to star in) and Seth Rogen more like Bogan and just so unattractive but good in the role.

Look the film is great but a predictable and oh so Hollywood ending could have just about ruined it for me, get your Kleenex ready though, this is a sad movie with great performances from all.

50/50 rates 3 and a half strong stars.

Next up:

The Muppets, missed this at the pictures so was excited to catch it on the plane. Amy Adams was great and the story just made me smile. The songs were cheesy and fun and the storyline was paper thin so maximum easy enjoyment here.

It's definitely not perfect but it's damn easy to watch and entertaining.

The Muppets rates a very green 3 stars.

That's it, on my film list is Project X (don't judge me I LOVE trash) and Contraband, I just love Marky Mark end of story.

That's it, live from BALI.

PS Still no Miss Corby, not happy....

So it's Wednesday

And as the rain falls in the wet season it's time to chill after a day of river rafting yesterday and travelling from Ubud to East Bali for the second last of our smashing hotels. This hotel is just dreamy with your own private pool and the most yummy food ever! Food has been a massive surprise on this trip, it's just been sensational.

The shopping has been a let down but the services as usually in Asia are top[ notch, including massages, budget $7 haircuts, pedicures and manicures, yes I am way too lazy to cut my own nails and toe nails.

And now I am also up to date on all the latest TV except for GCB which I am desperate to watch otherwise known as Good Christian Bitches, the title is just too much and it deserves to be watched just for it's ultra trashy title.

Anyway live and direct for East Bali, Randy Andy well chilled and relaxed, OUT!

Monday, March 5, 2012

From one hotel to another

From the luxury of the Four Seasons beach side to up in the mountains and the cultural centre named Udon, it is day three or maybe four on the island of paradise otherwise known as Bali.

After a sensational day yesterday reaching Climax twice at Waterbom Park, yes Climax is a ride and loving the no lines and the amazing water slides and a nice morning beach session.

Bali is definately up there with one of my favourite holiday destinations.

And I so love MTV Asia and Channel V Asian version, such great tunes from One Direction and then it's M83 to Goyte, yes Goyte is getting played over here and across ASIA.

That's it for now, more soon.....

Sunday, March 4, 2012

How Does One Know They Are in Asia???

1. Whole families are on scooters and scoters AKA Motorbikes out number cars

2. Foot paths are few and far between and when there are foot paths they are flooded.

3. The delighful smells that come with the package

4. Friendly genuine service unlike the USA's 100% fake policy

5. Dreamy food

6. Does everyone have a spray tan in Indo???
