The Road to Texas comes to a Close

After yesterday's epic day of driving from San Antonio to Waco, Texas to check out all the sights of a Texas Wal Mart and oh boy were there some sights! Michelle aka Big Red, I even heard a woman use your line, to friend: "Oh Girrrrrrrrllllll, I'm just too old", MMMMHHHHMMMM

Last night we had Applebees for dinner, bottomless ice tea, I'm totally gonna miss that and some Texas Taco's. Can you believe it when I weighed myself in Houston I actually have lost weight on this holiday. Who would have thought eat shit, walk heaps and be in 40 degree heat and drop 3 kg's! WTF!

So last day here in Dallas, with a few malls to hit and all the major driving behind us. We just have to make our way to Fort Worth Airport and the Qantas check in and we are done. I write this almost final entry on the holiday from the most spacious suite at the Ritz Carlton, Dallas OMG this place is sweet as!

So some holiday facts after 7 major North American cities, 2 well 1 bi-lingual, 7 hotel check in and out's, 4 almost 5 tonight flights, 1 missed flight, 1 massive train ride, 3 major highway drives, countless malls and shops, all the major parks at Disney World, Orlando Florida, countless meals out and glasses of Ice Teas, 2 city Starbucks mugs, a massive bag full of hotel toiletries I have nicked and one hell of a good time the holiday is coming to an end and the Road to Texas is almost complete.

Will update photos etc etc when I return.

Looking forward to heading back into Sydney life and return to the worlds greatest country which is not about to default and lose it's AAA credit rating. And yes some of the United States of America is completely hard up, I guess it's no surprise when the minimum wage is $3.65.

Well that's all folks. Hope if your reading this your fit and well and ready to fill me in with everything Sydney related :)

Favourite Aussie Song of the Holiday

Oh I miss my Aussie Music sad face, I have heard enough Katy Perry, Gaga and Britney for ten grown mens lifetimes, I'm too old for that shit:

omg it's almost the second half of True Blood Series Four, SHIT!

Today's Agenda - The Road to Dallas, Texas

So after a little gym session and soon to smash our free breakfast at the hotel it will be the 5 hour drive to Dallas, Texas our final destination.

We will have a short stop in Waco Texas at a Wal Mart, hell yeah! Before continuing onto our final destination Dallas and then to Fort Worth for the 19 hour flight home, sounds yucky hey!

So it's almost the end to this massive journey across a large number of cities of Eastern North American and it's been a blast from French speaking regions to Spanish speaking regions, I've literally been everywhere man!

More updates to come and photos soon to be uploaded once I am back in sunny old Chippendale.

Oh and yesterday I got my first "NOOOOOOO U Didn't" from a waitress MMMMMMMHHHHHMMMMM

A drive by via Houston Texas - the Memories

I love Target USA! Awesome clothes, DVD's, music etc etc!

Target in Houston was awesome and so was our Vietnamese meal we discovered and enjoyed after a crap flight up and losing around 4 hours of our Houston, Texas pit stop.

We also did the Galleria shopping mall which had around 300 or so shops and services. A good centre, I managed to get some more jeans from GAP for just over $10 after tax.

Our breakfast at our great hotel there was a highlight for me muesli with fresh berries mmmmmm derious!

We then got the car ready for our next stop.... where I sit in bed now watching my new favourite program Toddlers and Teiaras, love the drama and the trashy stage moms!

Okay so Houston, Texas was brief but memorable and happy to say I have ticked it off my bucket list.

Night Night all.....

Miami - oh the Memories of South Beach

I was in Miami Bitch!

One of my favourite hotels of this massive Northern American trip was the Tides in South Beach, Miami, Florida, photos to come. The service was amazing, the breakfast food was amazing, the dinner a steak Pad Thai was rather weird but okay. The room was amazing and just across the road from South Beach where the water was hot and so were the passers by on the famous American beach.

The atmosphere in Miami was infectious from the word dot, the streets were lined with restaurants and people trying to get you in with a buy one get one free drink offer or cheap meals. The streets were littered with beautiful people and hoochies, a bit of a mixed bag overall really.

The night life was incredible. Everyone was out and about enjoying the warm summer and the crazy party vibe.

We checked out a couple of gay bars and they were dead but the go go boys were still giving it a crack lol

So Miami, a great visit until we missed our flight by seconds ehhhhh don't get me started, my only comment is I will never fly Continental again, worst service ever, I call them CUNTinental.

Anyway more memories up next.....

The best meal of the holiday so far is...

Hooters, San Antonio, picture to come. It also comes with the award of worst bathroom of the entire holiday thus far. Two tits up for Hooters, San Antonio.

Also the River Walk is done and I gave money to some homeless.

The Road to Texas is just going along swell!

The Road to Texas is on

Miami memories and Houston's drive by visit coming soon!

However the Road to TEXAS is on and I am a murderer, yes I killed a bird on the road angry birds style!

Sorry USA a bird was my victim riding up the freeway of LOVE today!

San Antonio is up now and with a beautiful riverside room I'm sure I'll have some memories to share soon!

Oh and thanks all for the messages and emails! Nicole got your make up from some ghetto babe today in Houston, Mum hope your 100th birthday was a riot and all at work, so not missing it there LOL!

Bye all

Last Full Day in Orlando

After smashing Magic Kingdom including my favourites Splash Mountain and talking with all the lovely locals, then moving onto the amazing Blizzard Beach and smashing through all the slides and raft rides and enjoying all the lovely Disney food and treats. We then managed Animal Kingdom and Epcot all in one day and yesterday before the storm took in the second and final water park Typhoon Lagoon.

I preferred Blizzard Beach but them are the breaks y'all. My favourite quotes at the water parks:

Father to young child in a life jacket: "Thanks a lot, you have ruined my day completely"
Mother to younger Child: "Stop crying your scarring all the other people"
Father to teenage son: "What y'all crying about now" - before we snorkel with sharks

Oh the joys, then we did the Florida Mall on the outside parts of Orlando.

Today is our last day and we will attempt to smash Hollywood Studios before another Storm is due to hit. The Weather is crazy here right now, there is heat waves, storms, twisters, you name they got it.

Orlando has been totally fun and I'll be sad to leave our awesome room at the Holiday Inn here, advice for people coming maybe plan well in advance the parks and rides you want to do, the water parks are not as crowded as the major ones and a lot more relaxed and also Epcot has the biggest range in food, the others just have fries and hot dogs, fries with burgers, fries with wraps, fries with nuggets, a side of fries, a turkey leg and I mean a turkey leg!

Oh boy, anyway the road trip to Miami starts tomorrow and then it is straight into Beyonce's home town Houston before the road all over Texas starts.

Oh the memories!

Photos etc to come soon LOL

Magic Kingdom, Blizzard Beach & Downtown Disney check!

It's time for the Animal Kingdom today and tomorrow who knows another water park or maybe Hollywood Studios!

Crazy times here in Orlando and so nice and hot, love it! Do not miss the Sydney winter one bit!

Photos etc to come on arrival back into Sin City AKA Sydney town. Speaking of Sydney, Homebake has been announced and the line up looks sick as! See y'all there in December!

Au Revoir - Montreal {The Memories}

So returning to Montreal briefly and my second visit to the largely French speaking province in Canada. My highlights were our great train ride into Montreal from Toronto and the great service VIA Rail offered including free Internet (hence some dodgy brief BLOG updates) and a drinks cart with the hostess loving my True Blood books and keeping me updated on the series!

Then would have to be our first afternoon there checking out the old town and the festival atmosphere, it was incredible it felt like we were somewhere in Europe not North America.

Then would have to be our night out where we checked out the gay strip and saw Go Go bars, a crazy disco where we had to pay an outrageous $4 cover charge, what a rip off!!!! Then we moved into a mighty funny karaoke bar where the host was just itching to get his "Only Girl in the World On"!

Finally our Kayaking adventure would also have to be a highlight as I did go into the Canal and we got to check out some more of the amazing city that was Montreal, oh and the shopping kicked Toronto's butt it was amazing, especially when they had the streets lined with vendors and the underground shopping system was a buzz, just amazing!

I loved Montreal and I may even want to learn French now, the experience was amazing and out of this world, great holiday to date and stick around for the road to Texas to continue.....

Last night Magic Kingdom

Today Blizzard Beach and then maybe the Epcot Centre, full Montreal and Orlando news to come when I have a spare minute, however this hotel has HBO and the new True Blood was on last night OMG so good! Loving Alcide back in the show gosh damn!

Yesterday's quote:

After a ride: a lady said - "gosh damn I got a stitch after that sHIIIIIIIIITTTTTT"

The last train outta Toronto has now left...

One part of the vacation is now completed and with Toronto just a memory now with some happy snaps to come I have to say I am more than impressed with the life and city that Toronto has on offer. I have fond memories of spending my 29th birthday there at the great 360 resturant at the CN Tower.

After seeing the markets in the older part of Toronto this morning it was time to make way for a train trip of to Montreal to say Bonjour and share some crossiants with the locals.

I can't believe the holiday still has three other major parts to it, with Orlando (Disney World), Miami and various parts and cities of Texas to come.

The highlight of the holiday so far definately has to be getting back onto Canadian soil, smashing some iced Chai lattes at Starbucks, induldging in their food, hitting up the shops and having an amazing meal at the awesome CN Tower in Toronto.

Hope all is well back in Aussie Land

O Canada, almost time to move onto Montreal

After another splendid day in sunny Toronto it's time to pack up and leave the amazing Intercontinental and head on the train to Montreal.

So it's been real ion Toronto seeing the sights, the shops and also eating way too much food and remembering how to tip again.

Things I have learnt in Toronto, it's way busier than Vancouver (my past home in Canada, around 6 years ago), it's warm and amazing in Summer with temperatures around 29 degrees and amazing, it is super multicultural and has amazing food and city lay out.

Today we did venture out of the city to One Square shopping Centre and I got to see my first Wal Mart in Canada for ages, loved it fully sick!

Also today we checked out the rather large China Town in Toronto and last night enjoyed a Japanese and Korean fest for around $40 AUD dollars and there was so much food and bubble tea!

The city is bumping on this Friday the 15th for a Taylor Swift gig and some Baseball action, go the Blue Jays.

Okay so that's it on this stop on the North American July 2011 Visit.

Stay tuned way more to come so look out Australia and the rest of the globe....

4 Days till the Road to Texas begins.......

Dreamy Music on a Friday Night

In Sydney on a Friday night live music rarely has dual highlights however last night in Sydney Friday the 8th of July Art Vs Science the very impressive trio from Sydney were rocking the Enmore whilst down the road Seeker Lover Keeper played the first of two sold out Sydney shows.

And I was at the latter, Seeker Lover Keeper. Now the talent on stage was spectacular:

Sarah Blasko - Terrific, a star, a great catalogue of popular Aussie music
Holly Throsby - Australia's most under rated singer songwriter and quiet the beauty
Sally Seltmann - One hell of a song writer and not bad on the vocal either!

So yes with all this talent on stage it was hard to go wrong.

The girls all bonded well and seemed like they were having an awesome time! It was all Sarah's songs first including my fav "Light all my Lights", such a stunning song (see clip below).

All the songs from their debut were just sublime with the touching 12."Rest Your Head On My Shoulder" almost bringing me to tears with Sarah's beautiful vocals and Seltmann's terrific words.

"Even Though I'm a Woman" was a crowd fav and nice to see Throsby have her moment to shine after years of making amazing and awesome tunes.

They finished off covering one of each others tunes and then altogether with a Stevie Nicks song "Wild Beast".

An amazing night at Sydney's most spectacular venue for this style of folky, singer songwriter showcase evenings.

I just hope and pray these girls stay together for a long time because together they are unstoppable and simply magic.

5 over talented and flawless stars to Seeker Lover Keeper at the Factory Theatre, Marrickville. They play again tonight to a simply sold out crowd.

True Blood Episode 3 preview - Shit yes!

What's on the Box - July 2011

So last night was bumper to bumper viewing, with Rescue Special Ops mid way through a really hit n miss season, Q&A featuring my fav politican Miss Penny Wong and then the new series from MTV "Teen Wolf". Was it any good? Yes and No.

With the supernatural world being given lot's of telly time through Vampire Diaries, True Blood and a show actually called Supernatural, is the world of fantasy big enough for another show in this genre?

I think the first episode was way better than I had expected with some lame and tacky dialogue and a predictable plot you could easily write off this show but I think over the next few episodes it will develop more and the characters will grow onto you the viewer.

Onto the other supernatural show that has just returned True Blood now two episodes into series 4 and isn't it interesting, with Vampires, Shifters, Were Wolves (see Teen Wolf above), Were Panthers and now Witches, it is going to be a very interesting series and after reading the book this series is based on it should be pretty decent.

So TV in 2011 it's still going good and with the excitement building for Nine's last ditch at Aussie drama after Sea Patrol is sinking at the end of this series Underbelly - Razor better be freakin awesome.

Also a mention for the first two episodes of Weeds series 7, it's damn fine also with the plot and story now moving to the now legally gay marrying New York.

Will report back on more TV soon as it's a damn cold winter with plenty of couch time LOL

Final draft gift registry

One Tree Hill Series 7
Gossip Girl series 3

top 10 days to go OMGF!

Only 10 days till I touch down in Texas! Hells bells, stay tuned this is gonna be fully sick!

Top 5 @ 5 - Sun 3 July 2011

1. Beni - It's a Bubble
2. SBTRKT - Wildfire
3. Friendly Fires - Hurting
4. Sietta - What Am I Supposed To Do?
5. Dr Don Don - Never Fear {Ft. Elizabeth Rose}

Sneaky Sound System - WE LOVE you

Metro Theatre Gig, 2011

So the room was filling Beni was spinning that below monster smash it's a bubble and the crowd was going nuts. Well some were.

Then it happened Sneaky sound System and the sexy Connie Mitchell made her way on stage to perform multiple numbers for From Here To Anywhere their soon to be released third album on Australia's uber cool and producer of Australia's best dance albums Modular.

See I liked Connie or Miss Connie back in the "Primary" days but dance does her justice and so did the sey lime green leotard she wore so nicely, what a smokin hot bod!

The tunes from the past got the crowd super pumped but I was more interested in the smooth production and naturally awesome sounds of the new material. We Love is already climbing the charts and the new single "Big" sounded like it could well be BIG also.

I find Sneaky Sound System to be one of those groups who don't work on Triple J but seem to cool on NOVA or 2GAY FM. Their sound is nothing new but Connie's voice and stage presence deserves attention and her playful dancing around the stage is well second to none.

The gig was a fantastic club set with little time without a thumping beat and sexy vocals provided by Miss Connie. One member down and only two remaining, it looks like the profits will now only be split in half and with a big new album too come I think their may be a lot of profits following in.

Sneaky Sound System live, dead awesome!

I'm giving them 4 and a half stars and the crowd also gets a good wrap very well behaved and so much fun. Go Sydney dance!

Requests...

There has been requests for more multi media junk on my BLOG so behold below, my first whacky video of the moment, the brillant Beni with it's a Bubble, prediction, the biggest Winter dance smash of the year. Even bigger than the new Duck Sauce track "Big Bad Wolf".

Video of the moment! Check this shit OOOUUUUTTT
