I love this venue it's so fab for a dinner and show experience! The food is amazing, the service is first rate and the venue was all decked out and themed within an inch of it's life for their new show "Vampire Stories".

Featuring an amazing "Exorcist" moment complete with disco breakout moment!

With way too much champagne and food by the end of it all this was a really outstanding evening.

This is now running at Slide on Thursday nights so make sure you check it out, for great food, entertainment and it basically beats watching the Matty Johns show, 4 stars!

Film Freak – Alice in Wonderland 3D

I must say I had little to no expectations of this film as really only 50% of people did not enjoy this film. I on the other hand loved Ms Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen she just owned her role! Anne Hathaway as the White Queen didn’t really do it for me, but I never really like her. Johnny Depp was just outta control as usual and the Aussie chick was likable as Alice.

Tim Burton really has done something interesting things with this movie, the colours are just great, the characters are great and the 3D effect really works well with this one.

It’s not a masterpiece but it sure is a good escape from reality. Alice rates a Wonderland-esqe 4 stars

Best Song at this very moment - Gypsy and the Cat - Jona Vark

What the hell happened to my Bunnies today

Come on South Sydney!

The Curtains draw on this years final Mardi Gras play

Well after my double whammy last weekend I headed off to my final Mardi Gras play @ Belvoir Street in the downstairs theatre. Bent was about a love which developed in a concentration camp in the war, okay so a bit of a bleeding heart but hey. The first act was bearable due to full frontal nudity, but the second act.....

If moving stones from one side of the stage to the other for an hour or so and a random romance in a prison is your idea of fun well go right ahead but for me I would have liked to be at home watching the 80 minutes of man on man action we in Australia call Rugby League.

Bent really rubbed me the wrong way in the second act and the first act was not much better making Hardcore by far this years best Mardi Gras play. Bent rated a very Bent 1 and a half stars.

Double Whammy Mardi Gras Play Fiesta

Well it was the party this previous weekend and now we are left with only a sprinkle of Mardi Gras goodness, Bent at Belvoir Street’s downstairs theatre, which I will be at on Friday. However last week I caught up with the below events:

Thrill Me @ the Seymour Centre:

A two man musical about murder and lust sounds interesting except for when it is littered with lame songs and the story itself is actually quiet tame and at times very lame. It didn’t help that the main love interest and the supposed hunk pants had a severe case of cotton under pressure.

The show itself feature two rather talented actors but when a 90 minute show feels like a three hour marathon it is a bit of a worry.

Thrill Me, didn’t thrill me much and rates 1 and a half stars.

Hardcore @ the New Theatre – Newtown

I have never been to this theatre before but really loved it, it was small and quiet cute. The show itself was not cute at all but I did like the subject matter of gay porn, always a top 10 subject of mine. The four actors were really good in the funny, touching piece revolving around the wonderful world of adult movies.

I enjoyed this play a lot more than the musical/play the night before.

Hardcore rated a hardcore 3 and a half stars, mainly for the nudity in the second act.

Film Freak - A Single Man

A Single Man is a movie I may not have seen if I didn’t know it was the work of a fashion designer. I have a lot of issues with Colin Firth as an actor as he usually plays a boring conservative English man.

However he was a fairly boring English man living in the states, however the remainder of the cast particularly Julieanne Moore are fab!

The movie itself is one of the most beautiful films I have seen in years, the shots, the men, the outfits and the slow mo moments are sublime.

If anything this is a movie to watch and just think how beautiful things can be. It’s an average story but very watchable 3 stars.

That Face - Belvoir Street

I love a one act play with no interval, 90 minutes of full on action!

That Face has received amazing reviews and has an amazing cast, featuring the wonderful young talent of Emily Barclay and the popular Marcus Graham and Susie Porter.

A good small cast with a great story and an emotional ending including a urination scene not to be missed.

That Face rates 3 wet stars.
