Hot Summer, hot, hot, hot Summer LOL

OMG

The Blog's back Biatches

Happy end of Summer Slack, yes it's back to school, back to work (fuck it!) and more!

Please see below a pile of film, theatre and music reviews in a year that the credit crunch is gonna fuck you up biatches! No just joking with albums from Lily Allen, Ben Kweller, Ben Lee and more on the way, this year is looking pretty tops!

Coming soon a review of the new Sean Penn film "Milk" and probably a few more concerts as it's summer concert season!

How predictable was the Hottest 100? Kings of flaming Leon and their first ever single "Sex on Fire" yes as said by Commercial radio they really are a new band!

For the remainder of the Hottest 100 songs, well 101-200 check out the JJJ website and see where all the good tracks came in.

Well that's it for my start of the year rant, lot's of fun reviews, pictures and more trash than ever on the way so bookmark this now you little web geek.

Bye happy Credit Crunchie

Film Freak - Valkyrie

Could this be Tom Cruise's comeback film?

After Nicole made on of the biggest Australian movies of all time "Australia" die in the arse, Tom is doing it for Nazi Germany.

This film is terrific, it has action, drama and even showcasing Tom's limited but acting potential. The movie is based on fact and really plays out the tension and story really well.

The film is definitely one to see as Nazi Germany is all the rage right now!

Check this one out today!

Valkyrie rates 3 and a half Nazi stars.

Film Freak - Revoluntiary Road

I am going to keep this one simple, you could have poked me in the eye with a needle and I would have had more fun than watching Leo & Kate hate being married together. Maybe this will stop people getting married, maybe this will make people hate Leo, who knows but the film was long, drawn out and very dull.

Rev Road rates 1 star.

Lupe Fiasco - Enmore Theatre

Well the Big Day Out arrived in town and so did the awful hot weather, can Summer just fuck off!

Well Lupe was definitely the pick of the very lame BDO line up 2009. Possibly the most negative feedback I have ever heard from a BDO was this year with temperatures almost reaching 40 and artists like Neil Young, who you ask, this isn't young people's music?

Anyway back to Lupe @ the Enmore. God what a little pocket rocket! His set was amazing kicking it with "Kick Push" which the crowd loved!

The whole set was terrific and the crowd really seemed to rate it!

Lupe rates a big 4 fading BDO stars!

Film Freak - Doubt

What can I say Meryl Vs Phillip Seymour! What a great drama, this movie definitely deserves the hype!

Make sure you check out it!

Doubt rates 4 stars!

Wiley @ The Metro Theatre

What can I say one hour late to perform, didn't perform my favourite track "Turn it Up" from see Clear Now and playing to a very small crowd, this could be the train wreck gig of 2009.

He left the country shortly after this show cancelling the remainder of the tour and quotes saying "Don't but my new album it's rubbish" there is a good marketing ploy!

Wiley rates a 1/4 of a star!

Top 5 @ 5: - FIRST for 2009

1. Kanye west - Paranoid
2. Lady Sovereign - I Got You Dancing
3. Nick Thayer - Super Too Short
4. Metric - Help I'm Alive
5. Kid Cudi - Day N Nite

Film Freak - The Wrestler

After leaving the War of the Roses early I stumbled in a cinema on a wimb to see Mickey Rouke's comeback film "The Wrestler".

What an eye opener, this film had everything, action, drama, romance and more underdog moments than a South Sydney Rabbitohs game.

Mickey was amazing and WILL win an Oscar for his performance. As much as he fucked up you just loved him and really backed him.

The story between him and his daughter is heartbreaking, and the rise and very hard fall of Ram Jam is definitely one to be seen.

This movie could very well be one of the movies of 2009.

The Wrestler rates 4.95 muscle bound stars. (I can't give out a five this early in the year).

War of the Roses - Sydney Theatre - Part of Syd Fest 09 Sat 10 Jan 2009

Well seeing Cate B live on stage is definitely something else, it's no wonder she is one of the hottest Hollywood actors at present and definitely our best expert (Nicole - Australia was the final nail in the coffin for you).

The show a Shakespeare number (which I don't really like Shakespeare) which was quiet heavy and hard to understand.

I ended up leaving at interval of the first act, as the whole play is in total 8 hours.
Basically I give this 3 stars for Cate along, god love you Cate, your simply FAB!

High School the Musical - The capitol Theatre - New Years Day 2009

Well what can I say, I thought I would hate this and before going in I thought of all the evil things I could say, however this was actually really enjoyable!

The cast was great (and really hot) and the music was quiet good also. It wasn't a drawn out musical, it was quick sharp and straight to the point. The leads did a very good job and the company was just great.

This is definitely a fun day out for the family so make sure you stop by the Capitol before it closes at the end of Jan.

It rates 4 Disney stars.

Film Freak - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Can I just start off by warning you, this film is LOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGG

Our own Cate B is tops and Brad Pitt is just getting hotter, I just wish this film could have got to the point a little quicker. It did lose me a few times but in the end it was a lovely tale.

The Curious Case... rates a romantic, not in a Titanic or an Australia way 3 stars.

Film Freak - Slumdog Millionaire

This film has had nearly as much hype as MGMT, only the film actually delivers.

The film is slow to begin but filled with top tunes, great sequences and a finale to die for, Slumdog deserves every great review written about it.

Slumdog Millionaire is a film you just simply need to see, check it out it rates 3 and half stars.

Film Freak - Vicky, Christina & Barcelona

Another Woody Allen film featuring the lovely Scarlett Johanssan. Oh this film is beautiful in more ways than one.

The Scenery, the actors & actresses, the film is just simply so easy on the eye to watch.
My favourite bits were Penelope Cruz playing a jealous and outraged lover (something I'm sure she never did whilst on Tom Cruises payroll).

The film is a beautiful look at relationships, and how easy it is to cheat these days with so much hot trade about.

Vicky, Christina and Barcelona rates a hot & very steamy 4 stars.

Ida Maria @ the Metro Theatre, Sydney

Well one could only describe this artist as quiet interesting, she is one of my predictions for the very prestigious title of one hit wonder with "I Liked You So Much Better When your Naked".

She was drunk and out of control for her quick and very interesting set. She fell over once and I actually thought that was the end of the show. At least there was some comic relief.

Ida Maria, is no Lily Allen, she rates 1 and half OMG stars.
