2009 Seymour Subscription Launch

Well well well another subscription season and I must see this 11 show run only had one which may interest me, the play version of the film Steel Magnolias. Apparently it was a play first, however people always remember the movie first.

It will be interesting to see how another run of shows sells in the busy Sydney market at present with Sydney festival 2009 just around the corner, Priscilla's return season now playing, Billy Elliot winding up and the Famous Spiegeltent at the Opera House starting.

Tune in for many more theatre and arts reviews coming soon, including a trip to NIDA!

Taronga Zoo: Roar & Snore

Well the Zoo I came and camping I did!

Roar and Snore is a terrific experience which is done over at our beautiful Taronga Zoo!

The evening begun with yummy food and then more yummy food with dinner time. We then headed on a night walk around the Zoo which was kinda spooky with all the noises etc!

We then slept for a while and then had a yummy breakfast before heading out to feed the giraffes and then set up the bear enclosure before the 32 bear headed out to her enclosure.

The whole experience was simply terrific and well worth a slightly less than perfect sleep.

To the Hip-Hop

Bliss N Eso, Downsyde, Pharse & Motley
Enmore Theatre

Well this was a jumbo Hip Hop line up featuring an Aussie line up plus UK artist Motley.

Pharse really proved his new single "Clockwork" is hot shit!

Motley (UK rapper) proved he is hot shit!

Downsyde showed Perth are bringing it back with their latest disc "All City" spawning the radio fave "Fortune and Fame"!

And Bliss N Eso really brought the sold out house down! With their previous hits "Up Jumped the Boogie" & "Then Til Now" and then the big new tracks "Eye of the Storm", "Bullet & A Target", "Woodstock 2008" and the catchy "Happy in my Hoody".

Bliss N Eso's latest Flying Colours really deserved it's ARIA win last Sunday, it is definitely a promising release!

Bliss N Eso rates a big 4 and a half stars.

Film Freak: Burn after Reading

Brad Pitt and George Clooney really deliver in this outrageous film! The Cohen Brothers deliver the follow up to there massive hit No Country for Old Men.

John Malkovich, Frances McDormand & Tilda Swinton help round up this all star cast. This film is almost a piss take on modern spy movies (see recent Get Smart review several months back) and also delivers a great insight into modern life in Washington DC.

This film is weird yet wonderful, funny yet dark, but it's these contradiction's that make it great.

Check it out whilst it's still showing. Burn after Reading rates a fiery 3 and a half stars.

Yibiyung

Runs till 26th October 2008

This is a fantastic tale about the stolen generation and the tale of young Yibiyung.

It also features the FAB Sibylla Budd (Secert Life of Us fame) and the young Yibiyung is simply terrific!

This is definitely well worth a look in, but quick it closes soon.

Yibiyung rates a multi cultural 4 stars.

Cirque du Soleil - Drallion

Well the Circus has definitely left the city now, however if you wanna do a road trip to Canberra this is definitely worth the petrol money.

Drallion is visually amazing and simply unbelievable at times (for those who saw it, how fab were the trampolines) and simply a great day out.

Drallion travels around the nation, tickets can be located at:

Drallion rates a big five stars !!!!!

Burn the Floor @ Rooty Hill RSL

Well another night another Theatre show, there is so much opening and closing in Sydney at present, Priscilla officially re-opens tonight at the Lyric Theatre, Billy Elliot is on the countdown till it's closure and this excellent show Burn the Floor is also coming to a close.

There were two great parts to this show, the show itself (what was happening on stage) and then the crowd! Oh boy the crowd! LOL

The show was simply terrific, only flaw is it could have been one act only. The dancing and the costumes were terrific! The high energy numbers were definitely the crowds favourite numbers, some of the slower numbers did drag on, however still enjoyable.

The Crowd was a real scream even though the show is at Star City, you couldn't help but feel you were out at Penrith Panthers. The yelling, the women with the most fab porn star haircuts, loved it!

Burn the Floor is terrific and I would love to see it again, this dancing road show rates a big 4 stars!

Melbourne - My first Wedding

Yay 4 Erin & Mick, the most adoreable couple ever!

It was a wild and fun night with vert beautiful words by both the dreamy bride and lovely groom, enjoy the happy snaps below!

The Convicts Opera

Well well well Sydney Theatre Company usually puts on a fab show and Juan Jackson (from Miss Saigon) is usually terrific however nothing could save this train wreck.

Peter Cousens of course never helps a musical, a play a theatre companies cause however in this he was bearable as he was almost unrecognisable.

I have only read negative reviews about this show so I won't go on and on as I did only stay for the first act, which was unbearable!

The Convicts Opera actually isn't legible for a star rating as it was probably one of the worst things I have ever had to sat through.
