Crack a HOUSE Party it's Nevereverland - Modular's tenth B'day Bash

Well Australia's hottest record label which features the Presets (oh Kim, Oh Julian), Tame Impala (Desire Be Desire Go, you know it biatches), Cut Copy and the list of cool indie kid music continues.

The day for me started out with one of my favourite new artists of 08, Ms LADYHAWKE! This girl channels the 80's, sings her little heart out and can play a musical instrument (can you do all that Vanessa Amorossi, simply answer NO and your a ginga) and she is just a dreamboat to watch. All the hits were here "Back of the Van" (cause you set me on fire!), Paris is Burning and My Delirium. Gosh what a moment, their were nearly tears :)

Then it was onto the Bang Gang tent (no this was not a group sex tent, however that would have been nice as the talent was HOT HOT HOT!, sexy men, sexy women with fake bobbies mmmm plastic fantastic, ahhh distractions) to watch the Bang Gang DJ's kick it and the Bag Raiders get the house party kicked off. Love it! Turbo Love by the Bag Raiders is such a Summer Dance floor smash I LOVE IT (download it for free now at the JJJ new music page).

Then one of the big moments for me last weekend at Homebake, CUT COPY, SCREAM!

They did it again with hit's like FARAWAY, blowing my little c=socks off and OUT THERE ON THE ICE just magic. Lights and Music and Hearts on Fire were also sensational.

Then the headliners my men the Presets!

Oh boy, TALK LIKE THAT, what an opener, most bands would dream of a bangin' hot crunk number to start with but it just got better. New Sky, This Boy's in Love, Are You The One & Kicking & Screaming were all sexy sexy sexy!

They finished with the MASSIVE My People! God these boys are on fire, there album has now pushed over 140,000 copies across this fine land called AUSTRALIA (Nicole Kidman and Hugh JackMeOff would even be proud) and they have belted out 4 monster tracks from this flawless release which definitely deserved this year's J award.

The whole event was great, a chilled out sexy as flip crowd and music to much the summer day that Sydney put on.

Modular has a lot to celebrate, they are FAB and they will be around for at least another 100 years, well done.

Nevereverland rates 5 stars!

Film Freak - American Teen

Well this indie-doco type flick really got me going from the get go. The bitch, the jock, the geek and the freak all made up this amazing tight little indie flick.

It's not every one's cup of tea, that's for sure but it is one hell of a look into a very weird American High School.

There were some classic line's in this film and I think I snorted so loud in parts snot actually came out my nose!

American Teen is no Juno but it sure is a funny as flip film, check it out biatches!

American Teen rates a acne rating of 4 stars.

Homebake 2008 - Peace in the Park

Well another year, another Homebake and another year of top Aussie talent!

Homebake celebrates a few things, great Aussie music, the start of summer and diversity (both musically and socially).

This has always been a standout festival for me, and this year was no exception with the weather bringing it on!

I arrived and headed straight to the main stage for Sydney band Bluejuice, they pumped out all their hits and some new tracks! I then stuck around for the very young but popular with the kids Getaway Plan. I watched from a distance the terrific British India, who did a simply great set. Two albums in and there set sounded like a best of set already!

I missed Mega Hype of 2008, Gab Kill me now (before I hear Sweet about Me again!!!) and then prepared for the almighty PNAU on the main stage.

Now their set was out there, Nick Littlemore dressed as Jesus dangling from the rafters dancing away to WILD STRAWBERRIES, how far that song has come, LOVE IT!

They pumped out all their hits from their their self titled disc, PNAU, including Baby, No More Violence and more highlights.

It was time to keep your dance on and check out those sexy Sydney siders, Bliss N Eso (Bliss N EMO) under the big top and what a top set, "Bullet & a Target", "Woodstock 2008" and "Happy in My Hoody" all highlights.

Then for my ultra highlight of Homebake 2008, no not Crowded House, CUT COPY! Wow did those boys rock the big top, dance moves I have never seen before, by a hot, up beat crowd!

"Hearts on Fire", "Faraway", "Out there on the Ice" & "Lights & Music" oh the dancing! I think I almost require a hip replacement after the groove and hot moves to FARAWAY, love that song!

The day was just blissful and again showcased how flippin' tops Aussie music is, so this Christmas here is your shopping list (there is something for everyone):

Bliss N Eso - Flying Colours (your hip hopping Pimp of a Bro)
Josh Pyke - Chimney's Afire (your indie sister)
The Presets - Apocalypso (your gay uncle)
Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours (your gay cousin)
British India - Thieves (your rockin Dad)
Empire of the Sun - Walking on a Dream (your trippin' step brother)
The Grates - Teeth Lost Hearts Won (your party girl sister in law)
Downsyde - All City (Anyone who loves to get down)
Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson - Rattlin Bones (your cunt-hop loving mum)

A few little ideas there!

Homebake 2008, Peace in the Park rates 5 local stars!

Get Ur Dance On - Global Gathering, Sydney

Well it was finally looking like Summer and another new festival rolls into Summer.

Global Gathering was an interesting selection of dance and some various genre acts.

I got their just in time to check out the last bit of Larry Tee (from NYC) great set! I then saw the Gorillaz Sound System which mixed their hits and some massive tracks that got the dancefloor moving. This was lead in by the amazing DJ Sneak.

I stayed for a bit of Mark Ronson who had a guest line up bigger than his band.

The band was great however all of Mark Ronson's songs sound very similar.

The small part of the day I stayed for was great, the Gorillaz Sound System was really awesome.

Global Gathering rates a dancefloor semi smash 3 stars.
