Fall Finales: Boo Bitch - Miniseries

Boo, Bitch is about as silly as its title. However it was an easy, breezy 20-30 minute x eight episode binge on Netflix.

It's a teenage comedy miniseries created by Tim Schauer, Kuba Soltysiak, Erin Ehrlich and Lauren Iungerich.

Like Uncoupled this premiered on Netflix on July, 2022. However this was nowhere near as funny as the previously mentioned Neil Patrick Harris series.

Starring Lana Condor, Zoe Colletti, Mason Versaw, Aparna Brielle, and Tenzing Norgay Trainor. It's a most new squad to TV for me. Or maybe I am just getting older LOL

Spoiler alert, episode eight went down like.....

Erika realizes that Gia was invisible to everyone except her and Gavin since she was a ghost. Erika asks for a sign of what to do, and she receives a message telling her to go to prom.

Gia appears at prom and says goodbye to Erika and dances with Gavin. Erika gives a speech honouring Gia's memory, and as all the students chant Gia's name, she ascends.

Erika reconciles with Jake C. and her classmates. In college, Erika sees a sign that Gia is still with her and smiles. It's an old school lava lamp. Something I actually own.

Boo Bitch was no masterpiece. It was a little less amusing than Uncoupled. However it was a bit of light fluff which I needed this week.

Up in coming weeks, Perry Mason concludes its second run, the Last King of the Cross along with Class of 07 will be reviewed. Not to mention additional local content from Netflix, Wellmania. There is a sea of new Australia drama out there right now. Comes on MAFS has finished so give some scripted local series a go!

Fall Finales: All American: Homecoming - Season Two

Welcome to the Fall Finales blog series. Very American I know, however its a random ass Autumn here in Australia. Well Sydney is very random. So let's go all American. Speaking of All American: Homecoming, concluded its second (along with likely last) season last night.

Who did Simone choose? A cliffhanger worth saving one of the few The CW series to make the 2023-2024 cut? NO!

All American, the OG parent series has already been offered a sixth season. The only CW series to be given a renewal thus far. My odds are on Superman and Lois along with Walker being the only remaining series airing next to a revived FBoy island.

Apparently the new company running the CW is aiming for older viewers. Which All American and FBoy Island will totally deliver. NOT!

Created by Nkechi Okoro Carroll, the second season commenced mid October. The 15 episode run concluded on Binge last night.

With the OG series All American (much better this season BTW) airing on Stan its one of those Australian streaming situations where you are near forced to download or get stung with two monthly streaming charges.

Simone Hicks slays on the tennis court, whilst they also tackled some social issues (again) this season. Where OG series tackled a main characters untimely death.

With the two shows airing the same day it's hard not to compare.

To be honest last year when the CW cancelled a pile of series I was surprised this one got an additional season.

There is loads of relationship and sporting fueds this season. But was the drama enough for the show to secure another 13 or 15 episodes?

Coming soon and All American Fall Finale post. Also in my downtown I caught up with another Netflix original Boo Bitch.

So this just missed my Summer Streaming list, so if you missed the RATED yesterday, you can catch up HERE. See you next time!

Summer Slack Streaming - Swarm - Season One

Swarm is the latest project from Donald Glover. Following Dre (Dominique Fishback), a young woman whose obsession with a pop star takes a dark turn. Kind of based (maybe) on the mass fan bases of say Beyonce (with BeyoncĂ©’s fan base also known as the "Bey Hive") or Taylor Swift. With fans going to extreme lengths if anyone wrongs their favourite artist/idol.

Swarm landed mid March Amazon Prime Video, I completed it late last week. It was a damn easy watch, whilst also being my final in the Summer Slack Streaming series.

Receiving positive reviews from critics, who praised the screenplay, direction, cinematography, soundtrack, and balance between its bright, vivid aesthetic and its elements of psychological horror.

Fishback's performance in the series has received widespread acclaim, while the guest performances of Chloe Bailey and Billie Eilish have also received popular praise. Eilish actually needs more roles now. She was truly awesome! That episode Running Scared was wild. One of the best of the seven roughly half an hour rollercoaster ride episodes.

The series tells the story of Dre, a young woman who is obsessed with a pop star (whose oeuvre and aesthetic are very similar to that of American singer Beyoncé), with a fanbase known as The Swarm".

The show is a deep dark dive into Dre's life, her fandom, and how it takes her to dark, unexpected places.

There is full frontal nudity, a wild sex scene, violence and more violence, Swarm is darker than Atlanta, but a damn good watch. For me probably more enjoyable than the last season (I ranked it fairly low on my Spring Rated) of Atlanta.

Speaking of Summer Slack Streaming Rated lands tomorrow (as long as I get some time) so for a new list of TV's best releases, come on back. Also enjoy a feature or two on Matt Corby's new album. The feature all this week. See you then x

Summer Slack Streaming - Shrinking - Season One

Shrinking is SPOILER ALERT my favourite series of the long, hot ass summer.

Created by Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel and Brett Goldstein. Shrinking premiered on late January.

Thankfully it has been renewed for a second season ahead of the tenth and final episode, that streamed today on Apple TV+.

A therapist, Jimmy Laird (Jason Segel), dealing with severe grief, begins to breach ethical barriers by telling his patients what he really thinks, resulting in massive changes to his and their lives.

Joining Segel is Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie, and Lukita Maxwell.

The ten episode first season run is funny as hell. Even Ford delivers some killer one liners!

Jessica Williams as Gaby is just wonderful. Love, love, love!

I ended up catching up on Swarm on a quiet Thursday evening, so the finale of the Summer Slack Streaming series will be delayed.

Also the RATED post for Summer Slack Streaming will come early next week. Right in time for the end of March, also hopefully the end of the heat.

If you haven't already get an Apple TV+ free trial (if you got a new Apple product) or just subscribe to smash this out. You won't regret it. It's hello good!

To catch up on my Spring titles, click HERE. RATED for summer coming at you next week!

Summer Slack Streaming - Uncoupled - Season One

So there is one more Summer Slack Streaming coming tomorrow (or Saturday) TBA then we move onto Autumn. I promise.

I somehow managed to binge through, Uncoupled. It's like a gay Emily in Paris, set in New York, not Paris.

Maybe that's because it's also created and written by Darren Star.

I somehow missed this and on Netflix last July.

The series was featured in the Netflix "Top 10" list at number six for one week.

In January, it was announced the show would not be renewed for a second season, however in February 2023, Showtime (owned by Paramount) picked up the series for a second season. And Showtime has cancelled a shit tonne of shows of late. Like a lot!

Uncoupled stars Neil Patrick Harris as a newly single gay Manhattanite navigating the dating scene for the first time in 17 years after getting abruptly dumped by his long-term partner.

As he adjusts to being single in his late 40s, he discovers that the gay dating environment has changed while he was in a relationship, and he rapidly realises that in order to not be single forever, he must take action. To be honest it was a little too close to home to my relationship breakdown two years ago.

However for the most part, the series was fun.

Tisha Campbell as Suzanne Prentiss, really steals the show. Her one liners are classic! I am looking forward to seeing where season two takes her.

Its been close to a year, but if you were late to the Uncoupled party like me there are some spoilers around episode eight below.

In the first season (and final on Netflix) The Jonathans are getting married!

The day is finally here, Michael has Suzanne come over and help him cover up his bruises with makeup. They arrive at the party and Michael tries to preempt the awkwardness by approaching Colin. He mistakenly thinks a random stranger is Colin's new boyfriend when he actually went alone.

To Michael's surprise, he does not feel much animosity towards Colin anymore and they even dance together. Michael leaves the party and arrives at his house only to find Colin waiting, telling him he may have made a mistake.

So it left on a cliffhanger so a renewal leaves us with Colin (Tuc Watkins) mistake being uncovered.

I also look forward to seeing more Marcia Gay Harden as Claire Lewis, in the second run. When that will land on the new Showtime/Paramount new channel/streaming thing soon.

So its almost time to say goodbye Summer, hello Autumn. Until then later dear reader!

Get Outta da House Cinema 2023 - Pearl (An X-traordinary Origin Story)

Pearl (subtitled An X-traordinary Origin Story) comes from Ti West which was co-written by West and Pearl herself, Mia Goth.

Alongside Goth, David Corenswet, Tandi Wright, Matthew Sunderland, and Emma Jenkins-Purro star in the blood filled Pearl.

A prequel to X (2022) and the second instalment in the X film series, it serves as an origin story for the title villain, whose fervent aspiration to become a movie star led her to committing violent acts on her family's Texas homestead in 1918.

Pearl played at the 79th Venice International Film Festival in September, 2022. The same month it started playing in the USA. So Australia got a delayed release date. AGAIN!

Pearl has received positive reviews from critics who lauded Goth's performance, West's screenplay & direction and its homages to the films of the Golden Age of Hollywood, particularly The Wizard of Oz (1939) & Mary Poppins (1964).

A third film in the X series, a sequel to X titled MaXXXine, is currently in development. So it feels like a TV franchise.

Look it did take a while for Pearl to go full bat shit crazy with her pet alligator. However once it wound up, it really served up some terror along with a side of rage.

I enjoyed most of Pearl, the love letter to Hollywood, the origins of the pyscho killer in X.

I am interested to see what MaXXXine brings to the big (or small) screen. For now Pearl has limited sessions around the place after landing six months later than in the USA.

Filmed in NZ this could also be a COVID filmed movie with references back to the 1918 Spanish flu. Pearl is one bad bitch, 3 Stars.

Summer Slack Streaming - You - Season Four, Part II

The fourth season was split in two. Mainly (I feel) to keep subscribers from cancelling their Netflix subscriptions.

Penn Badgley returns as Joe Goldberg for the final five episodes of the tense fourth UK based season. My notes on the first five episodes of this season can be found HERE.

Spoilers ahead, so like me (if you are usually not up to date) with your shows. Look away or just watch the trailer below.

Firstly Tati Gabrielle as Marienne Bellamy is back! With Charlotte Ritchie, Tilly Keeper, Amy-Leigh Hickman, Ed Speleers and Lukas Gage also along for the UK You ride!

So in episode ten or episode five of part two, Believing Marienne to have died, Joe disposes of her body at a park to make her look like she overdosed. Nadia, however, tells Edward that she and Marienne plotted to fake the latter's death so that she could escape.

Kate tells Joe that her father revealed himself to have bankrolled her every venture even after their estrangement, and confides her fear of never escaping his control. Joe kills Lockwood, and the next morning, attempts suicide by jumping off a bridge.

However, the police rescue him; he awakens in the hospital to find Kate, who tells him she has inherited all her father's assets, and has already covered up Joe's involvement in Rhys' death.

Joe decides to accept his darker half; he kills Edward and frames Nadia for the crime. While Marienne reads an article about Joe while safely home with Juliette back in Paris, Joe moves back to New York with Kate, who runs her father's business after his death and makes Joe look like the victim who escaped Love, thus rehabilitating his public image.

Could a fifth season arrive will Marienne Bellamy avenge her time in the glass cage? Will she be back with her daughter? Who knows, there is no announcement yet around a fifth season yet. However it being left open like it was, along with its popularity I think it's in the bag.

I much preferred part I of this spilt season. However the finale did tie up a lot of loose ends. Hopefully killing off the ghost of Rhys. Cause Joe talking to himself (Rhys) got old real quick!

Summer Slack Streaming - BMF - Season Two

BMF (Black Mafia Family) was one of my New Years/Holiday binges. The first eight episodes were an easy AF watch. These aired back in 2021. So Starz held the second season for a minute. It commenced on January 6, 2023, the same month the real life drug/gang drama was renewed for a third season.

Watching the series week to week was a little different to a straight up eight episode binge.

I think I enjoyed season one a little more than season two. However it is still a fairly good watch. Following BMF, Power Book II: Ghost (slightly similar, drugs, guns, gangs, badass crews) commences on Friday on Stan.

Stan is lucky to have this deal with Starz as the content just keeps coming from the Power franchise.

BMF is another title from 50 Cent/ G-Unit Films and Television Inc. Joining Power and the recently cancelled For Life. 50 Cent is onto a good thing now his music career is slowing down.

He does use his music connections to bring some BIG stars to BMF. Including, wait for it, Snoop Dogg as Pastor Swift. Yes recent visitor to Australia Snoop as a religious figure LOL.

Kash Doll as Monique, Lil Zane as Sockie along with Empire star, Serayah as Lori Walker.

Also joining season two's ever growing cast La La Anthony, while Kelly Hu, Christine Horn and Leslie Jones joined the cast in a recurring role for the second season.

More musicians to come in season three, with 2 Chainz and Ne-Yo being cast in recurring capacities.

So keep an eye out for a third season of BMF on Stan. However for now from Starz I'm still waiting on the return of Hightown (last seen Dec 2021), Heels (last seen Oct 2021), Run the World which returns in May along with the acquired second season of Minx. Season one of Minx currently also on Stan. HBO Max cancelled the already filmed second season. Thank god Starz are bringing it to our screens. Up next You season four, Pt. II.

Summer Slack Streaming - Your Honor - Season Two/Series Finale (TBA)

Your Honor may have just aired/streamed its swan song on Stan. Yet another legacy Showtime series on Stan. However after an almost 2 year hiatus the Bryan Cranston lead series returns.

Streaming Friday afternoons alongside BMF, Servant and Last King of the Cross it's a busy day for new episodes to land. Now Power is back on Stan Fridays whilst Showtime get set to launch the second (highly anticipated) season Yellowjackets.

Both Showtime and HBO are after to solid starts to 2023 with Your Honor quality wise and The Last of Us, viral/critical wise.

It was reported that the second season would be its last, after the series was (by my memory) meant to originally only be a one and done series.

The second season picks up, after the death of his son, Michael is let out of prison early to finally put an end to the mob that has ruined many New Orlean citizen’s lives and many others.

Concurrently, an enemy of the mob, a drug cartel gang, known as the Desire Gang, make their move.

Meanwhile, the death of Adam impacts those close to him as truth begins to spread. Michael is forced to make risky decisions as he becomes an undercover agent spying on the mob while also finding the culprit(s) behind the death of his wife.

Past consequences intrude, leading Michael down a dangerous rabbit hole with bad outcomes every which way.

Filming for the second season began mid July, 2022, concluding mid December, 2022 in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is nice (again) seeing a series outside New York, LA/California or even Chicago.

There was some series DRAMA this season. No spoilers if you were waiting for all ten episodes to drop. But really I think I enjoyed this more than season one.

Hope Davis shines as mob boss, Gina Baxter whilst Cocaine Bear's Margo Martindale gets a more impressive storyline in season two.

If you have Stan, need a new show to catch up on, Your Honor could be it. The finales continue with me being completely up to date with BMF's slightly longer second season, also the second episode drop for the fourth season of You. It's almost the end of the Summer Slack Streaming blog series. A new Autumn series will land soon!

Summer Slack Streaming - Servant - Season Four/Series Finale

Servant is the psychological horror streaming television series created by Tony Basgallop and executive produced alongside M. Night Shyamalan. This is my second serving of M. Night Shyamalan this year. Following the film, Knock at the Cabin.

Rupert Grint stars in both, including this ten-episode fourth and final season.

The final season begun it's run mid-January, concluding today. Alongside Grint, Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free star as the four central characters.

We pick up the fourth season with Leanne (Nell Tiger Free) preparing the house to welcome a paraplegic Dorothy when one of the Church of Lesser Saints cult members attack her by spaying her eyes with holy water.

Leanne locks herself in the car to escape more members. When she thinks the coast is clear, she runs for the townhouse but is attacked. She locks herself in the car again. A flock of aggressive pigeons suddenly appear and begin attacking the members of the Church. Leanne goes back inside, just in time for Dorothy's arrival who flatly ignores her presence.

The nine episodes that follow continue the madness of what has been a 2019-2023 horror journey through the mind of M. Night Shyamalan.

This could be Apple TV+'s longest running series to date (however not as successful as Ted Lasso) since launching all those years back.

During the pandemic this was an eerie watch. However it could have run for one season too many.

I enjoyed the creepy doll to baby back to life drama. However it may not be for everyone. Watch at your own risk! Your Honour concludes next in this big TV finale week ahead!

Get Outta da House Cinema 2023 - Champions

Gosh, Champions was maybe the sweetest, funniest, adorable film I will see in 2023.

Bobby Farrelly in his solo directorial debut, remakes a 2018 Spanish film of the same name, starring the incredible Woody Harrelson.

Harrelson is a temperamental minor-league basketball coach who after an arrest must coach a team of players with intellectual disabilities as community service.

A super talented cast (see more below the tailer) join Harrelson. Kaitlin Olson, Ernie Hudson & Cheech Marin also star in the incredible Champions.

The real stars are the team Harrelson coaches, The Friends. They are Madison Tevlin as the sassy AF Consentino, Joshua Felder as Darius, Kevin Iannucci as Johnny, Ashton Gunning as Cody, Matthew Von Der Ahe as Craig, Tom Sinclair as Blair, James Day Keith as Benny, Alex Hintz as Arthur, Casey Metcalfe as Marlon & Bradley Edens as Showtime.

I enjoyed this film so much. So if you need a warm fuzzy feeling this weekend. This is the film is the film for you. Honestly I haven't laughed, smiled, almost cried this much in a film for a hot minute.

Grand, 4.5 Stars!

Get Outta da House Cinema 2023 - Scream VI

How'd I go from a bad year at the cinema to, three decent (not amazing, but way better than some of the shit I saw last year!) films in a row. Yes Scream VI is a really good sequel in the Scream film series.

Following Missing & Cocaine Bear, Scream VI is a fun, spooky night or day out at the cinema. Following last years Scream return, this is the sixth instalment in the Scream film series.

Starring Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere, Courteney Cox, Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.

Yep Aussie Samara Weaving makes her Scream debut. In the opening scene, Drew Barrymore style!

Scream VI follows a new Ghostface killer who targets the surviving members of the Woodsboro legacy attacks in New York City.

This however is the first Scream film not to star Neve Campbell, as scream queen Sidney Prescott! because she felt the offer presented to her was unacceptable, making this the first film in the series not to feature the character.

The latest Scream film has received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the kills and performances.

Jenna Ortega is everywhere after Wednesday on Netflix, so her star power shines bright. She has some ace lines, along with a king hit to Gail Weathers.

No spoilers here, however the move to NYC was a good one after years in Woodsboro. Dermot Mulroney was a good addition to the cast. The film series seems stronger than ever. Would I be surprised if there was a Scream VII? Absolutely not.

The session (in the middle of the day on a Sunday) I went to was fairly packed. Folks love to come out for a good horror film with the Ghostface killer(s) cutting up folks.

From the subway to the entire new setting, Scream VI is solid. 4 Stars.

Summer Slack Streaming - Kung Fu - Season Three

Kung Fu may have just aired its final ever episode!

As The CW heads into new management, only All American is safe thus far. Nancy Drew, Riverdale, The Flash are all coming to an end in coming months. The Flash is down to only eight remaining episodes to come.

Like The Flash (and Riverdale) this is another series from Greg Berlanti. It is an adaptation of the 1970s series of the same title.

All I can say is episode 13 of season three "Beginning" really felt more like Ending.

With a montage and flash forward at the end of the episode (no spoilers) feel free to read on. Kung Fu really felt like it was yet another CW show to take a final bow.

The third season premiered on early October, 2022, last night the finale streamed on Binge in Australia.

If you like the first season, it's not as good but on par with season two. I think in all honestly Kung Fu has run its course. However I will miss Eddie Liu, Jon Prasida and handsome JB Tadena on my screen(s).

Kung Fu showcased some outstanding Asian American talent. It had its fair share of action, drama and tradition on show.

Summer Slack Streaming - The Old Man - Season One

The Old Man is maybe my final Summer Slack Streaming binge!

I have managed to get through a few extra series this (longer) summer period. So let's look at FX/Disney+ (In Australia)'s series based on the 2017 novel The Old Man by Thomas Perry. The first season consists of only seven (slightly long) episodes.

In June 2022, the series was renewed for a second season. Return date TBA for now!

Dan Chase (Jeff Bridges) is a former CIA operative who has been living off-the-grid in Vermont for thirty years. After killing an intruder who breaks into his home, Chase goes into hiding. He rents a room from Zoe McDonald (Amy Brenneman), who becomes his forced partner while on the run.

FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Harold Harper (John Lithgow) is called to apprehend Chase because of their complicated past during the Soviet–Afghan War. Working alongside Harper are his protĂ©gĂ©s: FBI agent Angela Adams (Alia Shawkat); CIA officer Raymond Waters (E. J. Bonilla); and Julian Carson (Gbenga Akinnagbe), a hit-man hired by Harper to kill Chase.

So we have Bridges and Lithgow. Two legends of screen, in this tense Homeland style thriller.

Is it good? Yes. Tense? Yes. Worth keeping your Disney+ subscription? Yes again.

If you are missing Homeland, need a spy thriller with some TV legends this is for you. Tried of MAFS four nights a week, this is also for you! Next up Kung Fu as we head into the final few editions of the Summer Slack Streaming series. Autumn here we come!

Get Outta da House Cinema 2023 - Missing

Well, well, well, 2022 was almost the death of cinema for me. Now two decent movies in a row! WTF

Yes Cocaine Bear was actually fun AF! But now to something totally different, Missing.

Written and directed by Will Merrick and Nick Johnson from a story by Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty. The film is a standalone sequel to Searching (2018).

Starring Storm Reid, Joaquim de Almeida, Ken Leung, Amy Landecker, Daniel Henney, and Nia Long.

Missing follows June Allen, a teenager who tries to find her missing mother after she disappears on vacation in Colombia with her new boyfriend.

Missing had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 19, 2023, receiving generally positive reviews from critics. So far the film has grossed $36 million at the box office. Not bad for a film based off screens, either Macbooks or iPhones!

It is a wild, twisted road we go on with Missing, like Searching the film packs in a lot under 2 hours. The suspense is wild at times, the pumping soundtrack through one or two scenes creates a super intense cinema experience.

This is what I want from the movies people. Fun in Cocaine Bear with some LOL's and edge of the seat, compelling thrillers.

I'm impressed with the movie line up for March. Yes there are sequels galore, Creed III, Scream VI, John Wick Part Four. But hey these are fine franchises to build on.

What's funny as I heard a seven, eight or nine year old boy look to his dad at the cinema and I kid you not say, "they are really running out of ideas for movies right, Dad?". So true. You are too young to be that wise!

That said, Missing was grand, 3.5 Stars.

Get Outta da House Cinema 2023 - Cocaine Bear

Cocaine Bear sounds fucking wild, it is FUCKING wild!

Directed and produced by Elizabeth Banks, Cocaine Bear is loosely inspired by the true story of the "Cocaine Bear", an American black bear that ingested millions of dollars of lost cocaine in 1985.

So expect 80's tunes, gory bear attacks with a wild cast, creating pure mayhem! It truly is a wild, fun 90 minutes in the cinema.

Starring Felicity and The Americans Keri Russell along with The Ameircans co-star, the fab Margo Martindale. With O'Shea Jackson Jr., Christian Convery, Alden Ehrenreich, Brooklynn Prince, plus Isiah Whitlock Jr.

Cocaine Bear is also a posthumous release for Ray Liotta, who died on May 26, 2022, with the film being dedicated to his memory.

So in December 1985 a 175-pound (79 kg) American black bear that died after ingesting a duffel bag full of cocaine.

The cocaine had been dropped out of an airplane piloted by Andrew C. Thornton II, a former narcotics officer and convicted drug smuggler, because his plane was carrying too heavy a load. Thornton then jumped out of the plane with a faulty parachute and died.

The bear, who died sometime after consuming the cocaine, was found three months later in northern Georgia alongside 40 opened plastic containers of cocaine.

The bear is currently on display at the Kentucky for Kentucky Fun Mall in Lexington, Kentucky, which named the creature "Cocaine Bear" in 2015.

Elizabeth Banks did a great job with this story. I actually had a really fun time at the cinema with this one. It's wild, outrageous and a totally good time at the cinema. Something I rarely say in 2023.

Fun, 4 bear sized Stars!

Summer Slack Streaming - 1923 - Season One

The 1923 series is a prequel to the Paramount Network series Yellowstone whilst also serving as a sequel to the series 1883.

Commencing mid December, 2022, on Paramount+, the eighth and final episode of season one aired this week. Last month, the series was renewed for a second set of eight episodes. Set to be the second and final season of the second Yellowstone prequel series.

Following a generation of the Duttons in 1923, during a time of various hardships including Prohibition, drought, and the early stages of the Great Depression, which affected Montana long before the 1929 Stock Market Crash.

SPOILERS ahead, read on if you DARE...

Of course the second prequel stars the big guns, Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, along with a talented supporting cast.

In the final after the three priests do not return after a week, Father Renaud, Marshall Kent and his men follow the tracks left by Teonna during her escape. Runs His Horse and Pete Plenty Clouds find Teonna and take her with them, as they set off for the nearest Comanche reservation. Father Renaud and Marshall Kent find the bodies of the three priests, as well as Hank's and they set off towards the Comanche territory, but by train where they plan to be waiting for the trio.

At Creighton's arraignment, Whitfield's lawyer Chadwick Benton convinces the judge to release Creighton with no bail. Creighton can't help but goad the Duttons as he walks out of the courtroom; which culminates in Creighton smugly punching a restrained Jack. Zane receives permission from Jacob to return home for the night, where he meets his Asian wife, Alice and his two children where they make up for lost time together. However, the livestock agent that works for Creighton follows Zane home and reports to the authorities of Zane's miscegenation and mixed race children. Alice is arrested and Zane is beaten by police.

Meanwhile, Spencer and Alex board their liner en route to London. To Alex's annoyance, her former fiancĂ© Arthur and his family also board the vessel. As Spencer and Alex dine in the main hall, Arthur, enraged that Alex left him, challenges Spencer to a duel on the ship's bow. Spencer comfortably defeats him, but when Arthur unexpectedly charges at Spencer while brandishing a pistol, Spencer throws him overboard. Being unaware of the full story, Spencer is arrested by captain's orders and Alex is remanded to her quarters. After Alex's friend Jennifer corroborates Spencer's story, the Captain decides Spencer acted in self-defense and Spencer is not charged. However, Arthur's father, a member of the British Royal Family, orders Spencer removed from the vessel at the nearest port of call. Arthur's father challenges the legitimacy of Spencer and Alex's marriage, and Alex is not allowed to leave with her husband. As Spencer is taken away in a dinghy, Alex declares she will find Spencer in Bozeman, Montana.

Back at the Dutton ranch, Elizabeth miscarries her child and Jack comforts her. Whitfield arrives at the Dutton ranch and announces that he has made payment in arrears on the ranch's property tax for them--however, if they cannot pay Whitfield back by the end of the year (it is November), the deed for the land will default into his possession.

1923 has been a huge hit for Paramount+, the second season will most likely air later this year, earlier the next. The eight episodes looked a million bucks! I have to say I much preferred this to 1883.

The series continues to be narrated by Isabel May, who in the 1883 series played Elsa, the daughter of James and Margaret Dutton.

Tomorrow I check out a crazy, true events film. Come back to see what I thought of a bear and some illegal substance. See you then!
