Get Outta da House Cinema 2023 - Scream VI

How'd I go from a bad year at the cinema to, three decent (not amazing, but way better than some of the shit I saw last year!) films in a row. Yes Scream VI is a really good sequel in the Scream film series.

Following Missing & Cocaine Bear, Scream VI is a fun, spooky night or day out at the cinema. Following last years Scream return, this is the sixth instalment in the Scream film series.

Starring Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere, Courteney Cox, Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.

Yep Aussie Samara Weaving makes her Scream debut. In the opening scene, Drew Barrymore style!

Scream VI follows a new Ghostface killer who targets the surviving members of the Woodsboro legacy attacks in New York City.

This however is the first Scream film not to star Neve Campbell, as scream queen Sidney Prescott! because she felt the offer presented to her was unacceptable, making this the first film in the series not to feature the character.

The latest Scream film has received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the kills and performances.

Jenna Ortega is everywhere after Wednesday on Netflix, so her star power shines bright. She has some ace lines, along with a king hit to Gail Weathers.

No spoilers here, however the move to NYC was a good one after years in Woodsboro. Dermot Mulroney was a good addition to the cast. The film series seems stronger than ever. Would I be surprised if there was a Scream VII? Absolutely not.

The session (in the middle of the day on a Sunday) I went to was fairly packed. Folks love to come out for a good horror film with the Ghostface killer(s) cutting up folks.

From the subway to the entire new setting, Scream VI is solid. 4 Stars.
