Bouncing Bunny Bloggin'

So it's day two of the MEGA LOOOONNNNGGG Easter Weekend and as I depart Sydney I found Good Friday most services I required were still fully functioning, the movies did a roaring trade, my waxing lady was totally up for asking me "Do you want me to wax your bum, I notice you have hair there", thanks lady. After smashing some Pho and heading out to Strathfield for some frozen yogurt from a swing set it was time for some dreamy Central Coast action.

It always excites me visiting the Tuggerah Westfield, you think bad tattoos and larger brides are exclusive to the Gold Coast well just come on down to Westfield Tuggerah, you sometimes get two for one, the tattoos are fucked, the brides are large and the outfits, simply delicious.

After enjoying some chilled time on the Coast, walking the amazing little Maverick multiple times with multiple poos bags being filled, washing three gosh damn cars and doing a light shop @ Coles Wyong, my day feels really complete.

With dinner looking like a trip off to the Central Coast's own Gold Coast environment Terrigal, the day is really just getting started.

Long weekends and Easter really are sublime, it's time to unwind and get counting down to another holiday in Anzac Day.

March/April in Australia really has to be the most killer time of the year.

Just another friendly reminder my new blog kicks off Monday and I thought I would leave you today with a few of my most recent favourite tunes I have heard road tripping over this long weekend:

Ahhhhh nothing like some fuzzed out stoner rock music for a road trip and how chilled is this song to go along to, loves it.

And staying in that same stoner mind set it's our own famous stoners from Perth, Tame Impala, definitely the album highlight.

One of the best DANCE songs of this year to date, a real different direction to the above songs, so far this list of songs is totally ace, if I do say so myself.

So much bad language for such a sweet song, but Thelma Plum proves "Father Said" wasn't just a fluke.

Not a new song, but relevant for the weekend of Easter.

Bit of a sing a long, till tomorrow, later Easter Bitches.....

Pre Long Weekend + Good Friday (without Religion)

So I am like a lot of Australians who are not religious and basically love Easter for the shear fact we have four days off and the world (or Sydney) slows down a bit for the four day Easter Egg feast.

So here is what I have done and dusted since 5pm knock off time at an institute plagued by strike action all week, seriously co workers work a three hour shift at Denny's in the USA for minimum wage.

So after work it's dinnertime so in fine dining style Slide on Sydney's Oxford Street threw on a great bash that they are rolling out on selected Thursday's called The Gin Mill Social.  What a great little event, great food, great company (thanks Mel & Matty) and some nice music.

If you like the Roaring 20's you will love this event and if you like ace food then this is totally for you, so give it a crack, the next Gin Mill Social is Thursday 18th April 2013.

After a slight rest it was time for a refreshing run (after stuffing my face last night and boot camp being cancelled today) in and around Sydney Uni, with a touch of autumn in the air this was totally a nice and ace way to bring in the Long Weekend.

After running finding a rotten banana (thanks Coles your fresh food really is starting to suck giant big Tony Abbott balls) and enjoying my fresh budget home made coffee of the day I enjoyed the well produced, researched and presented second episode of "The Checkout" what a great little hybrid between The Chase & Hungary Beast.

After smashing some home made pancakes it was time for some childhood fun, Gi-Joe: Retaliation the sequel to the original Gi-Joe film. It was a big improvement and cast really well, the Rock really is coming into his own and Bruce Willis what an action icon, so here is my mini Easter film review:

Whats on at the Movies 2013 {Easter Style} - Gi-Joe: Retaliation

First up so many spunks in this film, the Rock was looking fine, I don't really dig Channing much but I know a lot do, Lee Byung-hun as Storm Shadow (mostly shirtless) was drop dead delicious & D.J Cotrona where have you been all my life.

So enough about the talent, here is the trailer for anyone interested:

The action sequences in this film were first class, mainly between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow and newcomer Jinx. The film just worked so much more than the original. The only lacking thing was no Joesph Gordon Levitt as Cobra Commander.

Will a third Gi-Joe film rise up, one can only hope!

So for my review rating 3.5 Stars for this fine action film and something tells me I might catch another ace Bruce Willis action film this long weekend.

So in conclusion thank god (or not) for the long weekend how blissful and productive can four days off be. It's so chilled, washing done, house relatively clean and now it's time to plan my new BLOG, Flashing off the Record it's coming Monday and you can bookmark it NOW!

So if it's fish your eating today or just chilling at home, on a road trip or taking advantage of the movies being off and so many fine films on at present (Gi-Joe really is a top pick) or you just could be excited to watch Game of Thrones season 3 this weekend.

Yes HBO's EPIC blockbuster is back for a third season, Cray Cray!

Anyway tune in over the weekend for a new chart, lot's of lolz and fun times ahead.

Drive safe and eat shitloads of Easter eggs and Hot Cross buns, it's Easter Y'all!

RE: Enemy of Average PART TWO - Australian TV + the Logies (Local Content)

So some people agree with me about our local TV content being an abortion gone wrong but others have said, you know reality TV has a place in society. Hmmmmmm

I just read about the recent media reforms (a little) and I think Senator Stephen Conroy was onto something with getting up the points attributed to Australian content. But I think I have a solution, it's clear Channel Nine, Ten & Seven do not want to make quality Australian drama anymore so be it, let's leave it to SBS and ABC who are making the real decent programs (locally produced and written) and let the other commerical networks off the hook.

By ruling NO Australian content on the three big stations, this would kill off news, current affairs, reality TV (if I don't see another evil villain (who is of another race) on MKR I will be ever so happy) and no more Packed to the Rafters or Winners and most importantly losers.

Channel Seven, Nine & Ten could pay ABC and SBS through advertising income royalties to create new and exciting Australian drama like Redfern Now, East West 101, Miss Fischer's Murder Mysteries, Doctor Blake, Go Back to Where You Come From, Once Upon a time in... and the list goes on, so much quality viewing that would appeal to a more lucid audience than a MKR or the Voice audience who clearly forgot about the contestants after the show.

Poor old Darren Pericval is always doing 2 for 1 gigs, Rachel whatever the blind ones surname is, is about to release another mind numbing coma inducing record and DeBono and who was the winner? Where are they now?

Ricky Martin is already capitalising on the Voice in Australia by prepping a greatest hits to be released. FML Delta back on TV, it almost makes me want to relocate to Iraq from this divine paradise we call Australia.

So Julia G (Ms PM) can I come on board and really shake up these media reforms cause Conroy kinda ruined it a bit for y'all and look it's time to go:

My Kitchen Rules
Big Brother
The Block
The Voice
X Factor
Australia's Got Talent (Just not on Channel 7 or 9)
Masterchef
the new renovation show coming to Seven
Great Bake Off - Coming to Nine
The Biggest Loser

How amazing would that be a world without these reality brain drainers?

Just a thought....

Hey I launch a new BLOG over Easter, FLASHING OFF THE RECORD, it's all music, all the time and hopefully you can join me when I hit the BLOG running over the weekend, the Sunday countdown's will move there, new music previews and more will be found there, it will be fun, so see you then and happy hump day, yeah Friday's a holiday, thank you Jesus or whatever the reason we are off work for.

RE: USA Today - Final Images

So there has been a delay in me getting these up, I found myself struck down by some nasty ass cold yesterday and have spent the weekend finishing up Enlightened which has been such a ground breaking and fun show to watch while blowing my nose 200 million times.

So here it is you saw Vegas (through my eyes), you saw LA and now it's onto San Diego and Hawaii. Plus a little look into Mexico.

So here goes, it's a picture holiday:

Yeah so that's me @ San Diego Zoo, LOLZ

How did I get here, yikes!

Hawaii/Honolulu by late Afternoon, view from Trump Towers, DIVINE!

They even put on fireworks for little old me, oh I love Hawaii!

A holiday always needs a good slab of culture.

A tidy ass Wal-Mart, somewhere random, Oh boy! America!

This show is stalking me y'all!

That's it for now maybe some more pictures to come, full new countdown coming tomorrow AM maybe even before I head off to Boot Camp.

Happy Sunday

What’s On @ the Movies 2013 – I Give it a Year

I love Rose Byrne and Simon Baker is awesome, and the Aussies are doing it for themselves in this fine British film.

After a lot of American gross out films this film shows the British shows they can do just what Bridesmaids (well maybe not) and The Hangover did (PS - Part three looks shit and mega random).

I really enjoyed this film and it's tight running time was a breakthrough in recent cinema, I am so dead sick of films going on and on for hours on end and getting nowhere.

So I must say if you are in the mood for a giggle at some toilet humour and some randy British/American (yay for Anna Faris) & Aussies (above) this could be for you this weekend.

I am giving this film a nice warm 3.5 stars.

Enemy of Average PART TWO - Australian TV + the Logies

It came to my attention whilst I was in West Hollywood recently how extensive and wonderful American TV is, major actors have moved from the big screen to the small screen (Kevin Bacon, Glenn Close, Kathy Bates (See will be on American Horror Story: Coven later this year) and various others), new shows are popping up and succeeding (yes there are failures 666 Park Avenue & Last Resort)and getting (sorry to use this word with all the recent series based on them) cult followings.

Unfortunately yesterday a great show I just discovered Enlightened was cancelled after two seasons, however on the horizon is a BIG new series of Game of Thrones, yes the dragons and violence are back for series 3 at the end of the month and True Blood & Dexter return real soon.

But to the real purpose of the story today Australian TV and it's horrid downfall.  Last night flicking through before popping a USB into the side of the TV to sit down to watch the latest Following episode I was less than thrilled to see the major networks showcasing, Biggest Loser (I lost interest 2 maybe 3 years back), The Block (shoot me now, that bogan that hosts it, enough said, and the casting go Channel Nine and your white Australia) & MKR, OMG I really feel when I have been requested to watch this show, what brain cells I retained from being a bit of a party boy from years 19-23 I lose every time Manu or Pete opens their mouths.

Now we have been a reality TV nation with Celebrity Splash, The Great Bake Off, Australia's Got Talent, X Factor & The Voice all on the way, hooray more talent competitions, more cooking shows and I think OMG another renovation show is on the way, Winter is going to be so good with all this quality viewing, I wish Dexter and True Blood weren't on so I could focus all my TV viewing hours on random fuckwits who think they can cook, sing, entertain or lose 50 KG.

So I think you get Australian TV (currently) sucks giant big balls, and the Logies for 2013 only put this front and centre with the Most Popular categories being dominated by Home & Away, Packed to the Rafters (can they axe this already) and House Husbands.  The Most Outstanding categories voted on by industry people is a little more enlightening at least recognizing programs like Redfern Now, Tangle & Go Back to Where You Came From.  At least ABC is trying with the new Josh Thomas show a bit of fun, a second season of Redfern Now on the way and promising shows with a little more edge than the mundane Packed to the Rafters story lines.

So wrapping up cause it's breakfast time, Australian TV is really rubbish right now so maybe do yourself a favour buy Girls Season One on DVD or get Foxtel and support some super new US shows where at least they are putting money into decent dramas which challenge you and require some thought. Yes trash like Dallas and the now cancelled 90210 are even way more interesting than another mind numbing hour of Loser or MKR.

Hump Day Update

So the week is buzzing by I woke to my alarm for boot camp this morning and thought surely it was Friday, it did however turn out to be bloody Wednesday, what a travesty.

Another travesty is the fact I haven't been able to post my holiday pics or get to my Enemy of Average - Australian TV piece, it's all coming I promise as is a mega weekend music update.

In the meantime I caught some great theatre last week it was Songs for the Fallen, unfortunately it's finished up now but I totally recommend looking it up, it was ace, awesome and so many people I have spoken to really loved it. I hadn't had a chance to BLOG about it and review it but real soon I will be back on top of it all. Plus my new music blog is going to blow y'all minds.

So in the meantime tomorrow it's back to the movies and I am dying to see the latest English Comedy with my personal favourite home girl Rose Byrne.

So now that Girls season two has wound up it's time to start on Bates Motel, it aired this week to the channel A&E's biggest audience. It's coming up in my viewing schedule and I can't wait to smash it. The most recent episode of Shameless (USA) was just great, heart, soul and laughs just what you need in a good TV show.

The Girls finale to not give any spoiler alerts was awesome, it has been a super quick season and Hannah has had some real up's and downs but the music in it this season, DOPE!

Speaking of the MKS/Kendrick Lemar tune, DOPE and now Kendrick Lemar has something else with Jay Z going on:

Why is Kendrick Lemar so killer and no filler? He fully rules!

So that's it for now, I am watching the most killer new episode of the Following, come on Channel 9 air it now it is so much better than those losers on the Block, the freaks on ACA and basically anything else they serve up and don't get me started on their budget baking show.

Okay Australia and my globe trotters, enjoy your hump day evening and don't forget this gem debuts on the ABC tomorrow night:

G'Night...

So I bagged Glee out the other entry (well yesterday) and then out of nowhere the next episode looks a lot of fun:

So I can't be bothered sharing anymore new releases, it's St Patrick's day I'm tired, boot camp in the AM and I survived jet lag both ways which was amazing so yeah, end of entry for the night.....

SUPER Saturday Update!

So apologies for dropping off the map (literally) after the trip but with being back at work, socialising like real talk (not sit on my Facebook style) and catching up my stories (Enlightened (how did I miss this little HBO gem), Glee (it's getting shit again), The Following (Creepy but mighty fine) & Girls, Shameless and the rest) god I watch a lot of stories!

So here I am back and now for a mega update:

Movies:

So I touched on seeing Beautiful Creatures before I left, Identity Thief and Oz the Great and Powerful whilst away. So here is my mini super quick review on each:

Beautiful Creatures -

Twilight it's not, and definitely not at the box office, it was an EPIC flop not even making budget yet, SHIT, heads will roll @ Warner Brothers Pictures.  I can't believe the fab Emmy Rossum from Showtime's Shameless put her name and fine acting to this shit. Girl yo better than that.

1.5 Stars

Identity Thief -

So Jason Bateman is an attractive older man, Melissa McCarthy has a huge problem if she is going to be type cast as the crazy larger lady in life. But in this role it's working for her and this movie although silly is rather fun and fab.

I totally loved this in a super cinema in San Diego.

It opens here in early April so go check it out and have a bit of a light hearted laugh.

3.5 Stars

Oz the Great & Powerful -

James Franco is a dreamboat, Michelle Williams awesome indie cred and supported by a really good cast. Yes the reviews have been below average and the people have some valid points but ultimately it's a fun ride with really great effects and super 3D visions.

OZ the Great & Powerful maybe not as good as Wicked the Musical but still this takes you back to your childhood.

For a step back in Judy Garland time have a look at this, best to do in 3D, yes I am recommending 3D for once.

3 Stars.

Now to my main love in life, Music and as of Easter a new BLOG may be coming your way solely dedicated to the worlds best releases. I am also going to focus a lot on new and amazing Australian talent and the live music scene.

Music:

Bob Evans the dreamy Kevin Mitchell from Jebediah has released a solid new solo album, lets have a listen to a tune below:

The guy who is a killer actor but musician/singer/boy band leader JT is back and here is a live number from his return album:

Empire of the Sun are about to bring us some more groundbreaking music and here is a little taste you lucky readers on a sunny Sydney Saturday:

Check out this incredible piece of action from the original Sugababes, it's so damn good and it also comes with some Kendrick Lemar super love:

EPIC sounds hey, god love new music.

My home girl Azealia Banks is continuing to provide new dirty music, and she just dropped this new jam, let's hope her new album is as dope as all the lead in material.  I am so sad I missed her her at Future Music Festival.

Bliss N Eso out of Sydney are just killer and hear is their new jam:

AlunaGeorge new track is so amazing, the only thing more amazing is the video, have a look below, it's a little Grimm it's a little Once Upon a Time:

Okay so that marks an end to my music run down but look back tomorrow I have a special St Patricks Day Countdown and I may even review some more new tunes.

So last up on my Super Saturday Update:

TV:

So I touched on some of my favourites above and it saddens me on Monday I will watch the season finale of Girls for 2013, it's great though that it will be back and with a full 12 season episode order in 2014.

The Following has continued it's pilot level of amazing viewing, I have loved this show, got others hooked before it's debut on Channel 9 and if your not on the Following train yet, well jump aboard as it's damn ace.

I noticed at my local K Mart a DVD for HBO's Enlightened which I instantly started to tune into. This show has changed my life, after nearly finishing season one and about to start season two I just hope it gets up for a third one, Laura Dern is awesome!

Last up, so excited for Bates Motel, I blogged about it while I was overseas, I totally can't wait for this one.

So until tomorrow all, I am now back on board with more photos n stuff to come.

Peace Out XO

USA Today - Mon 11 March 2013

It is finally here the last day in the USA, and it now comes down to the worst part of holidays, packing EHHHHHHHHHHH

So after heading all the way around the Island yesterday and experiencing only one of two (per year) rainy days in Hawaii and some Wal-Mart, K-Mart & Target visits my bag (s - I brought a great new bag from Macy's in San Diego) are getting harder to pack.

It also doesn't help I am a hoarder who takes every toiletry that is not tied down and I keep every hotel pen and anything else I see mine after paying (or sometimes with Daniel's connections not paying) for a hotel room.

So I leave you all with the promise I have some more photos on the way and a bit of music below. It has been a big week for music back home by the looks of things and I am really missing listening to Triple J. American radio is really bad (not as bad as 2Day FM but close, at least they have morals and dignity here).

So that concludes my USA Today and it's only fitting with my flying today I leave you with this tune, farewell USA:

15 - Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child
14 - Icona Pop - I Love it!
13 - Calvin Harris/Tinie Tempah - Drinking from the Bottle
12 - Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding - I Need Your Love

11 - Of Monsters & Men - Little Talks
10 -  Of Monsters & Men - Mountain Sound
9 - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop
8 - Birds of Tokyo - Lanterns
7 - The Lumineers - Ho Hey

A full new chart Sunday night (Australian Time) for y'all and soon those pictures I promised you from the second leg of the holiday.

USA Today - Sun 10 March 2013

So it's our last full day on this island paradise known as Honolulu, after a terrific and very busy trip yesterday was mostly chilled much like the locals.

It's a funny place Honolulu it's got a massive Japanese tourist business and local tourists form the US makes for interesting ears dropping.

I promised photos but due to technical difficulties like me they will return in a few days and I will do a best of San Diego/Honolulu and chuck up some others for good measure.  But today I will look back on the magic that was yesterday and first up so sorry for all the peeps headed off to the first boot camp this AM, I could not have done it after my MEGA dinner last night!

6:30am - Woke and felt guilty as hell so prepared for the gym.
7am - Lonely gym session as all hotel guests were sleeping.
8am - Quick swim in our hotels infinity pool.
9am - Buffet breakfast @ Trump Towers with smoothies to die for, look out Boost Juice these kicked your butt! Mind you we paid for it, $80.00 all together, in America this is a huge expense when you could go to your local Denny's for a $14.89 breakfast between two.

10/11am - Headed tAla Moana Center and spent some time there getting around, seeing a cultural show which was a bit of a hoot and buying some great new Polo's for $4.54 yes that's after tax. Grabbed a few summer rolls at the food court and then walked back to the hotel.

2:30pm - Headed to the beach in tow with our complimentary Trump Towers beach bag, with food (well two pieces of fruit in this country does not equal food), some sunscreen and water.  Loved the beach, looking around at the tourists, the locals and seeing what holidays are all about fun, sun and sand. Well the sun was on and off as we had what I like to call Summer Rain, even though it's kinda winter here.

7pm - Headed off to the local picture theatre (by foot - yes a lot of walking today, to and from  Ala Moana Center and then to and from the Movies (past Ala Moana Center)) to see Oz the Great and Powerful.

This was heaps of fun, it was 3D in a massive cinema, where ushers first up gave you your 3D glasses before another usher showed you to your seat.  At my local Hoyts it's here's your ticket now fuck the hell off till your next visit. Not that I mind that sometimes.

James Franco as always was divine as was Michelle Williams who really from Dawson's Creek has done the best, she has indie cred like Franco, she chooses good movies, she didn't marry Tom Cruise and her looks are developing with age, something usually reserved for men. Mila Kunis was outstanding and so was here sister Rachel Weisz.  A great cast and a visual spectacular, definitely made for 3D and a real treat for young and old, now they just need to make a movie for Wicked, surely that has to be in the works?

So just checked wikipedia the king of all answers and queries and it looks like thanks to Les Mis's success both Miss Saigon the movie and Wicked the movie are hopefully on their way, Wicked would be a box office smash for sure with Miss Saigon being equally as huge if cast well.

So after the movie we went to this FAB diner next door with easily one of our best meals on the entire holiday and maybe in my many visits to North America.  I had a hamburger patty with gravy and onions and garlic mash while Daniel had seaweed seasoned rice, chicken and mushroom stack which was amazing we then shared a MONSTER dessert of bread pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream, suck a fart MKR that's a meal mother fuckers.

Actually when I see My Kitchen Rules in it's MKR format I only see mother fucker is that cause I listen to too much Azealia Banks and Kendrick Lemar?

Okay so great meal, walk home and then it's good night in out island paradise here at the Trump Towers.

I leave you in this wordy blog with some Kendrick Lemar as I bonded with a CVS checkout chick over him and I think "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" is a totally sweet ass tune, until tomorrow with last week's best 20 including a NEW number one and "Harlem Shake" maybe falling from grace showing it was less of a fad than "Gangnam Style" and PS hope everyone enjoyed Future Music, I wish I was there, such a killer line up!

USA Today - Sat 9 March 2013

After sitting outside on the balcony of our dreamy hotel room here @ Trump Towers trying to BLOG, watch the sunrise the damn net connection was a bit on the nose so I have relocated to the living area and still can see the new day coming.  Yes this is the earliest I have been up for ages on this very holiday.  6:19am I think I woke, after waking at 10am, 9am, even after 10:30am some mornings but with the gift of being two hours behind California it's easier to rise early.

After passing out last night after watching the second episode of the poor man "the Following" "Cult" (a new CW mystery show) I had the most amazing sleep with our million pillows and super comfortable bed.

Last night was the first night we had Thai food on this holiday and I will be honest it was no Chat Thai but it was fine.  This came after watching some "regular" Friday night local fireworks from our 22nd floor balcony.

It was quite a day yesterday with the 6 hour flight from San Diego, checking out of the amazing Andaz property in San Diego and checking out the small pool here @ Trump Towers.  My boot camp friends will be proud I am going to attempt a second gym session after this posting before undoing my good and hitting the Breakfast Buffet.  Like seriously I haven't had a buffet since Vegas and let's be honest I train to eat not train to look like Taylor Lautner.

Okay so hopefully tomorrow I can share some more images etc with y'all and then really this USA Today travel edition of this BLOG is almost done and dusted.  After my flight though I need to share some TV knowledge with you:

1. Bates Motel debuting on March 18th (a prequel to Psycho) looks epic, see below:

2. The latest and final season of Spartacus is EPIC and Todd Lasance can totally be my neighbour any day.

3. Shameless the US remake in it's third season is only getting better and better thank god for a fourth season on the way for 2014.

4. Girls Season Two ends in 2 episodes time and let's face it this season has definitely lived up to all the hype from the first it's amazing and Lena Dunham is a goddess.

5. As I stated before the new CW mystery series "Cult" is so a poor man's "The Following" same they came out same TV season as "The Following" is just killer and rating oh so well and Kevin and his Bacon will be back for another 15 episode season in 2014.

That's all yes I love TV, actually I love US TV, I started an enemy of average column in my BLOG recently and I think Australian TV you may be my next target, have some balls put down the knives and stop making cooking show and please no more dodgy singing competitions, if I hear "This is the Voice" one more time I will drown a bag of small kittens.

The End.

USA Today - Fri 8 March 2013

Well hello and farewell from the Andaz San Diego property, this hotel has clearly been my favourite with an awesome rooftop pool (unfortunately it's been to cold to use though) and a great gym, plus a double shower in our room.

So today it's off to the sunny and lovely Honolulu so a full update and report from the Trump Towers tomorrow and then it's back off to Sydney town.

It's been a great holiday thus far and as my BLOG has turned into a travel BLOG for this very holiday yesterday was a bumper travel day, I did not one but two countries in one day, how is this possible you ask. Well San Diego being so close to the Mexican border it's a simple trolley ride around (around 30 minutes using a $7 all day travel pass) and a walk through a turnstile.

Same it wasn't as easy coming back into the USA (save that story for another entry) but yes Tijuana, Mexico, I can tick you off my travel box and man was I scared. We went from the semi safe and secure US to witnessing an arrest on the street for a street fight and young children trying to sell us stuff for one Peso.  Very sad, I thought the poverty in the US was bad, this was indescribable.

Now when I saw the poverty in the US is bad I know you think Hollywood, Gossip Girl and it's an all Starbucks Latte sipping, Banana Republic wearing place of freedom and dreams coming, WRONG, each city we have been in the homeless levels are huge, from town to town we drove through cardboard signs give stories of sadness, loss and job losses.  The US clearly has a lot of issues (the number of gun shows is high on the list but again for another day) and with a CNN survey saying 15% of the country is happy with the latest Government, Australia be grateful we are run the way we are.

Okay so off stats and back to travel I can say I have done Mexico and I am in no way in a rush to head back, I can say I visited San Diego Zoo and truly Taronga Zoo, guys you do a great job we do have the best Zoo in the World.

I can also say I have had a crack at the local travel system from trolleys to buses done and dusted.  We have done the local area and I have to say San Diego is my favourite city of the three (major) ones we have done this break.  Las Vegas is a close second with that place being an amazing adult vacation spot.

Now that's really it for a long winded entry today. I will hopefully have some San Diego/Mexico (limited images due to fear of losing a camera, an arm, my life) photos to BLOG about tomorrow so if you want to see more of my bad West Hollywood haircut by a stoned lady who said Prince was her baby daddy many times making me wonder did Prince actually fuck you or not? Random.

Anyway see you on the flip side.

USA Today - Thu 7 March 2013

So day one in downtown San Diego tick, with oh so much food my belly is still way too full even the next morning!

We drove from just out of town concluding all our road trips which means no more American radio and the 2Day FM like playlists of maximum 6 songs and artists.  We did a fashion mall just out of town and had a very random Home Depot experience where I felt like I went to middle America.

We had a bit of a browse downtown around our divine hotel the Andaz San Diego.

We checked out Westfield (yes they have a Westfield) and I made some tight purchases before we checked out a very funny little film the "Identity Thief".  No full normal review but I must say way better than the last super average film I saw (Beautiful Creatures) which I neglected to review because honestly it was just garbage.  Thank god I got the tickets with my almighty Fly Buy points.

So Identity Thief stars the terrific Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, it is super fun and has towards the end real heart. It was $14, for two that is and free popcorn each, yes readers two tickets on w Wednesday night to the pictures plus free popcorn, OMG indeed.

Then it was dinner @ Saigon on 5th which was much more enjoyable than our previous Viet in Westminister the Viet hub of California.

So I forgot one image from my show of images and that was what just over $100 at Target USA gets you, so check it out below, pretty impressive:

Yes I do love Target USA.

Also so happy to see my Bunnies won the first round of the drug induced NRL, well done boys, Mexico is super close so if you need any illegal prescriptions filled let us know, that goes for the Sharks too I am sure some over the border drugs would help your season along.

Okay enough about Aussie news except I love that Kyle & Jackie O interviewed Pauline Hanson, did Kyle do this just so he does appear to be such a fat c%$t? I am sure after their recent ratings that yes they are still on top by on a whole the station like commercial radio are going down the toilet.

End of rant and of to San Diego Zoo.  Next update will be short or from Trump Towers Honolulu, you better believe it.

USA Today - Wed 6 March 2013

So farewell West Hollywood and hello San Diego, after a bit of a road trip yesterday and hearing Maroon 5 one hundred times and Taylor "I need a punch in the fanny" Swift four hundred times we arrived at a Residence Inn by Marriott to break up the journey and that's really it for the text lets have some images for this update.

ABOVE - Only @ WalMart

ABOVE - Changing the photo tempo, one of my highlights of the trip Santa Monica, delightful.

So I let a stoned West Hollywood former hair dresser to the stars cut my hair, bit of a holiday malfunction, but hey them are the breaks and I leave you with that as it's check out time and we gots to get on the road again.

Until tomorrow if I get free Internet.

Toodles.....

USA Today - Tue 5 March 2013

Wow so it's the end of our LA stay and today it's the 2 hour drive up to San Diego. After enjoying some time in the sun @ Santa Monica yesterday we are headed beach side again.

Yesterday we had a great look at a US Costco and then made our way out to the Pier @ Santa Monica which like the Everclear song was just great. It was so pretty.

We also saw Aussie lady boy Courtney Act was doing Karaoke at a gay bar on the West Hollywood gay bar strip so we thought why not, we have seen Human Nature whilst in the US.  However no Courtney Act to be found, the only thing we found was a serious amount of raw talent.

We got their and the first singer was very musical theatre but amazing, the second singer a lady boy with a stunning voice, then the first singer again doing a duet, his partner was slightly off (but later solo he was ace) and then the talent just kept coming and coming with all artists from Boy II Men to Snow Patrol being covered sometimes better than the original.

It was a real eye opener just how talented this group of Americans were, such a surprising night of talent and people on the edge of maybe or maybe not making it in this part of Hollywood.

So that about wraps up LA, I will post some snaps from this leg in the next day or so before heading off to our final destination of Honolulu.

So in tribute to yesterday I thought I would get my Everclear on, until tomorrow hopefully with some happy snaps LOL

USA Today - Mon 4 March 2013

It's a new week and we are lapping up all West Hollywood has to offer, yesterday the shopping and sights of Glendale and then possibly the worst ever WalMart, seriously what a sight, there was stuff everywhere and people saying all whack kinda things, so much Walmart love.

Then it was time to chill with one of the most expensive but relaxing Thai Massages I have ever had, I guess this is unique for the US.

Then it was off to my favourite dining destination when in the US, TGI Fridays, LOL such a big meal my stomach still kills.

So stop two in my USA Today journey is almost done and it has to be said I am a little troubled by the poverty not just in LA but Vegas and abroad, it seems America has a real gap between the rich (Kanye West) and the poor (the servers at Denny's) the poor work hard for tips of horrid patrons and the rich just get richer, it's kinda sad the land of dreams and hopes doesn't seem to have many dreams being made (unless you call waiting tables at Outback Steakhouse a dream) or hope being created.

Anyway off my high horse and onto music cause it's kinda that time of the week I reflect on the biggest TUNES of the last week and here they are:

20 - Porter Robinson - Language

19 - Disclosure - White Noise {Feat. Aluna George}

18 - Rudimental - Not Giving In {Feat. John Newman & Alex Clare}
17 - Mumford & Sons - I Will Wait
16 - Flume - On Top {Feat. T-Shirt}
15 - Flux Pavillion/Childish Gambino - Do or Die
14 - Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child
13 - Of Monsters & Men - Mountain Sound
12 - Calvin Harris/Tinie Tempah - Drinking from the Bottle
11 - Icona Pop - I Love it!
10 - Of Monsters & Men - Little Talks
9 - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop

8 - Ed Sheeran - Small Bump

7 - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Can't Hold Us {Feat. Ray Dalton}
6 - The Lumineers - Ho Hey
5 - Flume - Holdin On'
4 - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Same Love
3 - Birds of Tokyo - Lanterns
2 - Avicii & Nicky Romero - I Could be the One
1 - Baauer - Harlem Shake

Musically in the US I have to say we are ahead of the times with the radio on the drive from Las Vegas to LA having a common theme, a love of Bruno Mars and frankly if I hear "Locked out of Heaven" one more time I may put a blade in someones liver.

It seems my man Kendrick Lemar is popular which is good to see and other than that it's all Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Britney + William. Lame.

So that's it for today's wrap up, hopefully some LA/West Hollywood images coming direct to you soon and no sign of any celebrities yet :(

Okay on that note peace out from West Hollywood......

USA Today - Sun 3 March 2013

Hope y'all enjoyed the selected Vegas photos from yesterday, today however will be slightly more wordy. So the Vegas leg of the trip is totally over after driving many miles along a dessert freeway and then doing the regular freeway stop @ a Wal-Mart. Oh Boy.

Vegas was great, the atmosphere at night was electric, with music playing outside each hotel/casino and when a hit came on like Miley Cyrus's "Pitch Perfect" "Party in the USA" seeing random strangers flicking their hair like whoo and waving their hands like yeah was a real hoot.

I would love to go back to Vegas again one day and experience the eletric nightlife again and do yes another 24 hours of buffet to buffet dining.

So after hitting the dodgy gay club Krave (not Crave like that dreamboat Havana Brown Eye) at Rio in Vegas last night as we drove into West Hollywood we checked out the scene their complete with go go boys and all American gays dancing to my number one gurl, Azealia Banks! Yo!

After having a $45 three course meal @ the Gordon Ramasy restaurant in out hotel "The London West Hollywood" we made it onto the dance floor @ the clubs on the strip.

Oh America is all I can say.  This has definitely been a great holiday thus far and as we head down to our free breakfast today we plot our dining and shopping destinations as it's time to experience LA, California after smashing our way through Las Vegas, Nevada.  And back home y'all I have a boner to pick with y'all, Hillsong's United Zion, Australia's Number One Album, Australia this disgusts me, sorry just had to add this.

Okay so as the first weekend of the holiday concludes as I thought I would share one more sneaky Vegas image in for you.

Until tomorrow, greetings back in OZ and beyond.....

USA Today - Sat 2 March 2013

So today is less text and more images as I share a little bit of my journey through Las Vegas. Enjoy!

And have a guess what show we ended up at with a relocate upgrade of four rows from the front dead centre, mmmmhhhhhhmmmm

LOLZ

And it was actually really fun! The Venetian was bumping with oldies, Motown lovers and us Aussies getting our Human Nature on.

Happy belated to Rev. Fred Niles for another year.

USA Today - Fri 1 March 2013

So Las Vegas is truly better by night and with water shows @ the Bellagio fountains like all the time it's so amazing to see all this water and all these Americans being rowdy!

I also embarked on a 24 hour buffet challenge, yes $80 for buffet meals for 24 hours, I have such a food baby right now, wrong!

After checking out the outlet mall just outside the strip it was much easier to get a Mustang to drive out to Primm for a bit more outlet success with a near abandon mall with some good buys and easy to navigate shops.

Today/Tonight hopefully we can see a show, smash another buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so that makes $80 4 meals, $20 per meal, BUDGET!

So I also have been keeping up with all the news and it was very sad to read awesome Aussie DJ AJAX passed. What a talent, I remember many a festival having a boogie to his wicked sets. RIP AJAX, you are a legend and an instant party starter.

Until tomorrow, hopefully I would have seen Human Nature, Cirque, Cee-Lo is in town or Menopause the Musical, yes Michelle Zangari Menopause the Musical is in town.

OK all, from the Vdara with a simply divine comfortable bed it's Andrew out to another buffet.....

USA Today - Thu 28 February 2013

Oh boy my first post on my new Macbook and after a big 9 hour nap after being awake for almost what felt like two days I am feeling slightly more human now and slightly less like the TV show the Walking Dead.

So good morning Australia from Las Vegas, Nevada, live from the 28th floor of the Vdara hotel which is just divine complete with a great view of some of the famous strip.

After two Hawaiian Airline flights yesterday a quick departure from the airport to the beach at Honolulu, finally we have reached our first destination. Our first destination in this West Coast trip to the USA is Las Vegas and we will move onto LA then San Diego and finally back to the Aloha State Hawaii.

It's been a hoot thus far and I am sure the stories will continue as today's objective after smashing a mother fucking large breakfast are:
1. Outlet Malls
2. A Cheap show tonight
3. Say Y'all heaps

So because I have really only been on planes and at airports I have no real USA Today news for you but seriously there will be many more stories to come if you bookmark this page you will be sure to have a laugh or two.

Anyway speak to y'all soon and have a great weekend.....
