Film Freak - My Bloody Valentine 3D

I haven't seen a 3D movie in forever and definitely never a horror film!

This horror movie actually had a lot more causalities than most. The Killer clearly was a maniac!

The 3D effect made this mostly formulated film seem a lot more compelling that it actually may have been.

The though of bullets, dead bodies and mining equipment coming at you definitely added something!

This film is definitely not for the faint hearted but a good film in the horror genre.

My Bloody Valentine rates a bloody 3 stars.

Film Freak - Zack & Miri Make a Porno

Now I love porn, everyone knows that! But this film tries to be a filthy boys movie with a soppy girl love story.

Does it work, hell no! The humour is toilet humour and a little predictable but there is definitely some funny moments where I found myself laughing like a young and very immature school boy.

The best part of this movie had nothing to do with this movie actually it occurred when I was served by the 12 year old behind the counter asked me for ID for this well deserved R Rated film.

At 21 getting asked for ID is definitely a BIG deal!

This soft porno rates 2 and half stars.

Film Freak - The Reader

This film has received a lot of attention and in a way deserves it!

Kate Winslet was quite good and this is with me not really liking her.

The movie was almost two movies in one which made it a little hard to follow and a little long. The way the story was told also annoyed me slightly.

There were lot's of good things with this film but also a few not so good things.

The Reader does deserve the hype but is definitely not my fav film of 09.

NIDA 50th Anniversary

Well NIDA has celebrated 50 years of bringing some Australia's best talent to the stage and the screen and they put on a great party to celebrate this.

NIDA is an amazing source of talent and also an amazing venue, the theatre is simply terrific and they graduates from many of the years put on a simply terrific performance. As did the six in the Parade Playhouse who did their six favourite rock stars.

NIDA special night, was a special night for me and rates 4 stars!

WOW I am reviewing parities now, don't I feel special!

Bliss N Eso - Metro Theatre

Fri 20 Feb 2009

Sydney's favourite sons return to one of Sydney's best venues, the Metro Theatre in the CBD.
This was a special gig for the boys the live DVD recording of their latest disc "Flying Colours".

The supports were terrific, Motely and Pez really warmed up the crowd and Pez really proved he is definitely not a one hit wonder "the Festival Song" boy was on a high and Motley was simply terrific!

Bliss N Eso then came on stage and put on a fantastic show! With all their hits being featured in their set, "Bullet & a Target", "Woodstock 2008", "Then til Now" and many many more!

Keep an eye out for their DVD and it will definitely be an Aussie keep sake!

Bliss N Eso rate a huge 5 stars!

Film Freak - Dean Spaniley

Now this is one movie I saw the preview, the rating (G - WTF) and thought NO!

However I saw the film and mid way thought I thought YES, this is a cute tail!

Peter O'Toole is a sensational bitter and twisted old man and Sam Neil is not half bad also. Throw Byran Brown in the mix and it's a pretty solid cast!

The film was actually really enjoyable and I can honestly recommend this to friends.

Top 5 @ 5: Friday 27 February 2009

1. Motley - Wayo
2. Lily Allen - Not Fair
3. Bob Evans - Someone So Much
4. Peter Bjorn & John - Lay it Down
5. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Zero

Judith Luy @ the Sydney Opera House

This woman is unstoppable! My god I love her! The stories, the language, she is basically one top Shelia in my books!

The crowd laughed along with her and then there was me sitting here in my own piss from way too much laughter.

Judith Lucy really is one of the top comedians this country has to offer and for someone who is not that into Comedy I can always get into a bit of Judith!

Miss Lucy and her Getting Older show rates a solid funny ha-ha 4 and half stars.

Film Freak - Pride & Glory

Edward Norton usually is only in good films however this film was a bi of a let down.

The usual cop drama/family drama card was played on this film and the whole movie felt a little too much like one cliche after another.

Don't get me wrong I did enjoy it however it was definitely nothing break though, if your an Edward Notron fan check it out, otherwise give it a miss.

Pride & Glory rates a little less than my 09 average 2 stars.

Film Freak - Changeling

I have been a huge fan of Angelina's for a while now, with all those kids n shit.
Now this movie directed by Clint Eastwood and he does a bloody good job.

This movie is great and heartbreaking and even slightly shocking.

Changeling definitely deserves the praise it has received and also deserves to be seen and enjoyed.

Angelina's performance alone is tops however the supporting cast is also top notch! The films rates a big 3 and half stars.
