The third and final new drama from SBS / NITV Digital Originals, Moni, is a gay Samoan man, returns to Sydney determined not to miss his sister Hana's wedding. But an unexpected arrival throws things into disarray.
After a decade living in the UK, Moni turns up at his sister Hana's wedding rehearsal in Western Sydney, where he is welcomed by the whispers of the Samoan community he escaped from.
Starring super sweet, Chris Alosio as Moni, Tina Leaitua - Moni's mother Tina, Ilaisaane Green as Moni's sister, Hana, Maiko Taukafa, Maila Latukefu, Maua Fuifui, Julian Maroun & Ella Ganza.
Along with Moni returning home from London for his sister's wedding, but he is also arriving six months after the death of his mother, Tina.
Tina then appears to him, first as an apparition, giving him life advice ahead of his sisters wedding.
This can be a bit awkward, but overall this is a sweet family drama with some hard hitting themes across the short six episodes. These new mini digital series could be a way forward for some more local content. Good news on that front though, The Twelve will finally return to Binge on August 4th! Hooray! That's a Monday streaming services folks!
