Wentworth | Season 8 Part 2: Episode 13, The Ties That Bind

Here we are folks, episode three of the final run of Wentworth! This season is powering along! This week also sees the return of staff at Wentworth prison after a two-week absence. 

The Wentworth prison endure a backlash over recent events. I.E two inmates dying in two weeks/two episodes. So, when Ann returns to work following a month's absence and announces her extreme plans of bringing the security of the prison into line.

A formal vote is cast and Boomer is appointed Top Dog. Well, that is until Lou (the terrifying Kate Box - who I always mistake for Virgina Gay from this week's Q&A episode) is released from the slot and challenges her to a fight in order to make it official. 

Rita (who I secretly think will make it to Top Dog) is back at Wentworth and is determined to make the best of what could be a long stretch inside. 

Joan reveals that she is full of regret over her cruel treatment towards Vera in the past; she becomes consumed with rage, having overheard Jake threatening Vera with custody proceedings over Grace. 

Judy pushes the boundaries further in fighting her extradition when she persuades Allie to pretend to be her girlfriend. Linda pushes Ann to consider her for the position of governor and informs her of the sexual relationship which occurred between Will and Marie. 

Ann sees it as the perfect opportunity to have Will removed from correctional services for good, and with Marie recently having requested for a transfer, Ann agrees to grant her request if she confirms the allegation, which Marie denies to save Will's career. 

Boomer picks up the courage to face Lou in the fight, but is ultimately defeated when Lou stabs her with a shiv. This scene was one of the most brutal Wentworth scenes to date. That is saying a lot!

Marie comforts a depressed Lou who now realises that has nothing left to lose; she will take revenge against the officers of Wentworth, whom she truly holds responsible for Reb's death. So which one of the Wentworth staff will fall victim to first? What is the Freak/Joan up to? Will someone bite the bullet next week? Gosh I am excited for next Tuesday, not just because it's pay day. Episode four will drop!
