White Men Can't Jump is one of those direct to streaming films that showed up mid May on Disney+. Or Hulu if you are a USA today reader.
This remake of the 1992 film which I never saw BTW. Features an all star musician cast including Jack Harlow, in his acting debut. With Teyana Taylor plus Vince Staples.
Also starring Sinqua Walls, Laura Harrier, Myles Bullock, and Lance Reddick in one of his final film performances before his death in March 2023.
White Men Can't Jump has received generally negative reviews from critics, however is it that bad?
Yes and no. I don't think young Jack Harlow should quit the What's Poppin' vibe. Whilst Teyana Taylor already slayed in season four of basketball cheerleading series Hit the Floor.
It was nothing new, predictable as hell, however Harlow is super likeable. As is Vince Staples.
That said this is a fairly average direct to your Disney+ app. Which is currently featuring a new Marvel series, excellent Aussie series The Clearing along with so many new items on my watchlist.
Bring on the writers strike, I gotta catch up on my watchlists!
I'll pass this to be nice. 2.5 Stars.
