Film Influencer 2025 - Black Bag

Black Bag is a film I really wanted to see. I thought I missed it, however with Easter being, long and carefree, I caught on the spy/thriller film Steven Soderbergh.

Starring Aussie icon, Cate Blanchett, fresh from his Showtime spy series, The Agency, Michael Fassbender, Marisa Abela, Tom Burke, Naomie Harris, Regé-Jean Page, & Pierce Brosnan.

Following British intelligence officer (Fassbender) tasked with investigating a list of possible traitors, one of whom is his wife (Blanchett).

Whilst the film has received critical acclaim, thus far it has been a box-office disappointment, grossing $37.8 million on a budget of at least $50 million.

This swift, gripping spy drama about legendary intelligence agents George Woodhouse and his beloved wife Kathryn.

When she is suspected of betraying the nation, George faces the ultimate test – loyalty to his marriage or his country.

Rocking in on just over 1.5 hours, this film has speedy dialogue along with a fast paced plot. This is cinema at 2025 at its best.

I really enjoyed this film. It got to the point, built tension while jet setting all across Europe. With a fun soundtrack and solid performances. This was choice cinema.

If its still showing near you, give it a chance. 3.5 Stars.
