Movie Matinee Madness - Skyscraper

The Rock is back! This time in Hong Kong, along with 90's legend Neve Campbell.

Back in the late 90's Neve Campbell was a Scream queen and wholesome family favourite on Party of Five. Now she is The Rock's wife in this surprisingly good action/thriller.



So you can guess I actually enjoyed this film, I was expecting the worst, however it turned out so damn good!

Look it's easily thrown away as a simple popcorn film, and it is, it's a US Summer blockbuster, but hey from time to time we need distractions, from Trump, the World Cup, Malcolm Turnbull etc etc, life is stressful and the movies is a place to escape the crap. So honestly Skyscraper achieves it's main goal, great action scenes, big plot and a lot of The Rock's bulging muscles being shown off. Not to mention Neve Campbell actually kicks some bad guy ass too!

No awards (maybe a Razzie or two) coming your way Skyscraper but it was a fun bit of escapism, 3 stars.
