Liam Neeson returns for the second COVID action thriller film following Honest Thief in 2020. The Marksman follows a rancher and former Marine (Liam Neeson) living in an Arizona border town who must help a young boy (Jacob Perez) escape a Mexican drug cartel.
The film has received mixed reviews from critics. However when you go to a Liam Neeson film, what do you expect?
Honest Thief had a lot more action than this slow burn. It really took a while for this film to move out of first gear. The road movie across multiple US states had very few action moments, however the finale was mostly entertaining.
If you have seen all the awesome Aussie content currently screening (The Dry, Penguin Bloom and High Ground) maybe give this one a go.
