And in Other News... Your Favourite TV show might be...

Canceled.... or Renewed.

It's that time of the year when the US networks decide the fate of your favourite shows. Some last a long time, so only get that one season run.

Here is a list or highlights of last weeks renewals or cancellations.

As I watch this week's episode I learnt newly returned Quantico will conclude at the end of it's 13 week run. It started late this season, had it's episode order slashed from 22 episodes to just 13, so those should all have been signs. It was once a buzz show, now it's buried in a busy line up of finales, spin offs and new series trying to earn their stripes.

ABC (US) also canned former buzz worthy series Designated Survivor, screening locally on Netflix (Weekly) the series was a favourite last year, this year it's on the scrap heap. Next week ABC will unveil new shows and it's lineup with NBC launching the week Sunday/Monday and FOX, CBS, The CW and ABC to follow.

The Exorcist and Lucifer also have seen the end of their run on FOX, whilst NBC gave The Brave and Taken their matching orders.

The Expanse is now being shopped around streaming services as Syfy gave it the thumbs down.

Blindspot got a surprising renewal despite the fact it's ratings have slipped, the storyline is loco AF and it's buried away on Friday alongside cancelled movie to TV remake Taken. FOX renewed Empire a little while back and now they have given it's sister series Star another run. Star has really shined in series two, it's tackled big issues whilst still having some seriously hot musical performances. It might not have been around as long as Empire but it's kicking a lot more goals.

NBC also renewed all it's Chicago series, Fire, Med and PD and A.P. Bio.

The CW had good luck with Black Lightening in it's first year, however Valor and Life Sentence are history. The CW does not put on too many new shows, however that changes next year with them adding Sunday programming. Look out a Charmed reboot may be on the way and no doubt another DC comic book may even get up on the youth network.

There will be load more TV news next week.
