Movie Matinee Madness - Creed II

First up it's been a while between posts, Christmas event organisation, a weekend at the Gold Coast, no not for Schoolies and general December Madness has left me little to no time.

So on a Thursday night I took myself off to a quiet Thursday evening screening of Creed II.

First up I did see Creed back in 2015 but there has been a lot of films since so I forgot most of it, however they do a good job connecting the older films and the main plot lines throughout the film.

Michael B Jordan is hella fit in this film and now he is super famous from Black Panther, the man is on the rise!

The film is very America Vs Russia which is just oh so topical right now. With Creed taking on the son of the man who killed his father in a fight 30 years ago, HBO boxing is jizzing in it's pants with excitement.

The fitness/boxing side of the film are wonderful, but it also comes with a lot of family drama. Between Creed's family and Rocky's and to be honest poor old Sylvester Stallone is looking a little worse for wear.

Creed's boxing challenger Drago played by Florian Munteanu is a force to reckon with. Every punch, every breaking rib, you feel it, the action is so well filmed.

If you don't like boxing this might not be your bag, however it's a fairly enjoyable film that is not a Christmas or family title at this time of the year. Hooray!

3 Stars.
