Movie Matinee Madness - Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald {4DX}

A common thing to do on my Bangkok list of things to do is check out a 4DX film, now George Street Sydney is blessed with a 4DX cinema. Yes George Street is a dive, the old man at the front checking tickets is a complete C U Next Tuesday, but they now have 4DX cinema technology and one of the first films is Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

I saw the original Fantastic Beasts movie a while back (2016 was a while ago when you see as many films as I do) and I have to be honest I have never seen any of the Harry Potter films, so a little of this confuses the hell out of me.

There is a huge cast in this film with Johnny Depp and Jude Law appearing in the first movie I have seen either in for a while.

Eddie Redmayne is an interesting leading man, he almost doesn't have the charisma to be a leading man, however with so many characters coming in and out of the film, it's more of an ensemble based film anyway.

Back to the 4DX experience though as honestly that was the best part of this film and honestly this was the best 4DX film I have seen. All the rain at the start and the water off button on the seat may have been needed with all the rain scenes.

It was a rollercoaster ride in the 4DX seats however there was a bit of time between action scenes and the editors could have cut a few of the bland bits from the film.

Overall Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is a great looking film, magical in parts and a school holiday pleaser if you have kids to entertain for almost two months.

3 Stars.
