Post Strike Cinema 24' - Kraven the Hunter

Kraven the Hunter is the sixth and final film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU), but also another possible superhero film flop.

Starring handsome Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, & Russell Crowe.

Taylor-Johnson plays Kraven the Hunter, who has a complex relationship with his father (Crowe) and his path to becoming the greatest hunter. His path of vengeance and motivates him to become the greatest, while also being the most feared hunter.

Following two years of delays, Kraven the Hunter was released by Sony Pictures this week. The film was largely panned by critics, who criticised its story, screenplay and visual effects, though some praised the action sequences and Taylor-Johnson's performance. Some of the action scenes are actually fairly cool, but the story is average AF!

If you left thinking the film, left the story open for a sequel, well. This month, following the projected financial failure of the film, it was reported that Kraven the Hunter would be the final film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, ending any chance for a sequel.

So where does that leave us with superhero films in 2025? Also where are all the good end of year films this year? Boxing Day, New Year's Day films? WTF.

Unless you like the Lion King or Disney, it's a fairly quiet end to the year in film.

So, how do I rate Kraven the Hunter? Well with limited ATJ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) shirtless scenes, I can I only give this 1.5 Stars. Sorry Sony.
