Sizzlin' Summer Streaming 23' - True Lies (TV series) - Season One/Series Finale

Short lived, True Lies is streaming its solo season on Disney+ in Australia. Based on the 1994 film of the same name by James Cameron, itself based on the 1991 French film La Totale! by Claude Zidi, Simon MichaĆ«l, and Didier Kaminka.

The series was on CBS Stateside, early March till mid-May this year. My writers, now actors strike TV catch up continues.

Due to low ratings, also maybe an awful script, cheap special effects, the series will not return for a second season. Well whenever CBS series make a return. Of which I currently watch fellow big screen to small screen female version of the Equalizer and the latest fire fighter series, Fire Country.

True Lies revolves around a suburban housewife who discovers her computer consultant husband is a skilled international spy, which leads them to saving the world and their marriage.

The 13 episode run stars Steve Howey, Ginger Gonzaga (in the lead roles), with Erica Hernandez, Omar Miller, Mike O'Gorman, Annabella Didion, and Lucas Jaye. With Scream's Matthew Lillard, OG film star Tom Arnold returning from the 1994 big screen version, plus Keith David, Jackson Hurst, and Tom Connolly all having guest roles.

The 13th (and final EVER) episode Waking Dreams was a continuation from the previous episode Lying Truths.

With the whole Tasker family being in on the "True Lies" spy thing. The season ended with a light cliffhanger that could have lead into a fairly tame season two.

This was typical network (USA) procedural run of the mill stuff. Nothing really special, no stand out performances, however an easy on the train or on while your home doing your life admin kind of thang.

CBS won't be missing this series when their regular programming commences maybe next Autumn/Fall.

With Yellowstone repeats (from years ago, like 2018) rating almost double (if not more) this shows original first airings. Now that's sad.

If you liked the OG film, this modern take may interest you. If so all 13 episodes stream now on Disney+.
