Film Influencer 2025 - Him

OK, I was excited to see, Him, however this turned out to be one big disappointment.

Damn 2025 is turning out to be a little average for cinema. Packed in October with horror films as we head into Halloween. If you have been to a Coles or Bunnings, you know Halloween is incoming!

Directed by Justin Tipping, & produced by Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions. The film stars Marlon Wayans, Tyriq Withers, Julia Fox, & Tim Heidecker.

Him, follows the trials of a young up-and-coming football player (Withers) training at the isolated compound of an aging, nearly retired quarterback (Wayans).

Him has thus far, received generally negative reviews from critics and has grossed $25.2 million worldwide.

Honestly Jordan Peele's Nope wasn't real good either. However this was just random AF. Now don't get me wrong, I'm digging US football in Disney+'s cute comedy, Chad Powers, but this doesn't hit right.

Its overly violent towards the end, it lacks direction and the film at points just feels like one big music video.

I hate when I go into the cinema expecting (while also wanting) something good. Instead you live feeling violated.

I am hoping to get off to a movie tomorrow. So hopefully I can report back with a higher star rating.

1.5 Stars for now for Him. Sorry team, this just wasn't it. It gave American Horror Story, but like the FX series, never really reached a worthwhile conclusion after a promising start.

Till next time, BYE!
