Scorchin' Summer Streamin' 25 - English Teacher - Season Two

FX’s English Teacher starring Brian Jordan Alvarez as Evan Marquez is back!

A high school teacher in Austin, Texas who often finds himself at the intersection of the personal, professional and political aspects of working at a high school.

Evan wants to be a principled person but often runs into trouble because of it.

Look I loved season one so much. This is not to say I didn't love season two, just it didn't feel as fresh as the first run of eight episodes.

It also dropped as a binge of all ten episodes this year. I vaguely remember watching this one, week to week last year/season.

Now maybe it's cause Chad Powers (also on FX and Disney+ here in Australia) felt a little more fresh and a little warmer, like a US version of Ted Lasso. But the second run of English Teacher just didn't feel that original.

The students do really steal some of the scenes. Unfortunately Stephanie Koenig as Gwen Sanders, just didn't have the same impact as season one.

Whilst, Enrico Colantoni as Grant Moretti, Sean Patton as Markie Hillridge, and new regular, Carmen Christopher as Rick Santana all felt a little forced at times to deliver adult humour.

A third season is yet to be announced and in this TV climate, it's very cut throat. Add in the gay themes in a very different USA now. Who knows whether we will get a third run at Morrison-Hensley High School.

That all said, it does have some funny lines, it is definitely a lot better than some other comedies out there. However season one set the bar super high. Like sky high!

Also I was watching the second run of Platonic at the same time. That is coming up tomorrow, and spoiler alert, that was funny as fuck!

Happy long weekend dear readers...
