Scorchin' Summer Streamin' 25 - Platonic - Season Two

So yesterday I was a little underwhelmed by the second run of the English Teacher, today however Platonic's second season. WOW!

Apple TV+ continues to follow the platonic pair of former best friends approaching midlife (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) who reconnect after a long rift. The duo’s friendship becomes all consuming—and destabilises their lives in a hilarious way.

Hunky Luke Macfarlane also stars, along with Tre Hale, Carla Gallo, and Andrew Lopez.

The season kicks off where season one left off back in 2023. So sad we had all 2024 without Rogen and Byrne.

Lucky Rogen also slayed in fellow Apple TV+ series, The Studio. So much so it dominated at the recent Emmys.

Sylvia and her family drive down to San Diego for Will's engagement party. Soon after she arrives, Jenna asks Sylvia to convince Will to participate in a song for their party. Will admits to Sylvia that he has developed a crush on another woman, which Sylvia attempts to convince Will is just him getting nervous before the engagement party.

During the party, Will and Sylvia leave to get more champagne, but Will makes an additional stop at a sandwich shop, and Sylvia learns that he is attracted to the cashier. They return to the party, and Will participates in the family song. Jenna confronts Will and Sylvia, and is suspicious as to why they were gone for most of the party.

Season two really turned it up a notch. I really enjoyed this week-to-week Wednesday comedy. I am so happy Loot will return for its run, to keep the midweek comedy going.

Rogen and Byrne and simple perfect together. Fingers crossed Apple give this a third go. The reviews have been glowing, so hopefully people are watching.

Apple TV+ continue to deliver, with The Morning Show returning strong, Loot incoming, Palm Royale will hopefully improve with that stellar cast and of course Slow Horses is just delightful! Well done all.
