That Netflix Gay #2016

So Netflix along with it's brilliant range of original series is also branching out and bringing some exciting new feature films and recently, XOXO was released on the streaming service.

Starring the best thing Murder in the First season 3 has going for it Ian Anthony Dale (hottest mix ever English x Japanese x French decent - HOT) this film is similar to the recent Zac Efron We Are Your Friends. Despite a small release and the use of a catchy Justice vs Simian song from 2006 as a film title this film never really went to the Zac Efron masses.

This film however with Netflix's large reach, released around the time of the Get Down and Narcos (2 hugely hyped series) will reach many millions more worldwide, also at a tenth of the cost to punters.

So my Netflix via my sister in laws log in (legal) costs her $10 a month (AUD) whereas the cheapest I can get to the cinema in Sydney is $11 via Optus Perks. So value for more plus is our Netflix.

Back to the film and EDM music has never reached the heights of RnB, Hip Hop, Cock Rock and Christian/Country crossovers in the USA but the festivals and artists like Flume, Steve Aoki, Avicii and others are seeing dance music make American radio playlists.

Unlike Australia and the UK where dance songs are frequently topping the iTunes charts (this year alone songs from DJ Snake, Flume, The Chainsmokers, Major Lazer, Calvin Harris and more have topped the Aussie charts) the USA is more into their Drake's and various other auto tune kings n queens.

XOXO is nothing new, it's a bit of fun and does not outstay it's welcome at 90 minutes, I am a little more interested in watching the film Tallulah (which below receives a solid review) but still this was fun with some nice eye and some Flume/Eliza Doolittle on the soundtrack. Pete Tong is all across the music supervision and the soundtrack is a lot of fun.

Overall it took me back to my festival going days, 3 Stars for the streaming giants take on EDM.
