The Equalizer is the second reboot in the franchise, following the 2014 film, 2018 sequel which is a reboot of the 1980s series with the same name.
Queen Latifah stars as the Equalizer alongside Chris North, Tony Kittles, Adam Goldberg and Liza Lapira.
Following four episodes airing in March 2021, the series was renewed for a second season. In Australia you can catch Queen Latifah on Channel Nine.
The Equalizer has been one of CBS's most popular series this TV season. Getting close to 12 million viewers some of its ten episode first season run.
Only sticking around for ten episodes which from February to late May (in short blocks) the show definitely didn't overstay it's welcome.
The season got better by the end of its run, but did however have many features of other US network crime series. With the formula being a little predictable mid season. The show would benefit by more season long storylines (other than The Equalizer's daughter not knowing what her mum does for a crust) rather than episode by episode bad guys/girls.
I will give this another look when it returns later in 2021 for a second run.
